I'm new to the concept of hygge but know that's in been in the news a lot recently. This book give great insight into the concept but I feel the running order of the chapters could have had more structure. It didn't seem to flow right. Nevertheless, was an interesting read.

This book is a pleasure to read. It explains hygge and how to live a hygge life. It paints the picture of an enjoyable simple life. The recipes and the entertaining is definitely something I am going to try. I love the idea of a cosy winter and getting together with friends. I will definitely be buying a hard copy of this book.

I've been very intrigued by the hygge life lately and this book explains it perfectly. The layout and photography is beautiful and I find that the whole concept of hygge really appeals to me.I think I do actually live quite a hygge life but I found some aspects that I could add or change that would help with living a much happier calmer life.

The book itself actually makes me feel very cosy just reading it and I have found that I have made many notes throughout especially in the morning/breakfast section as this is a time that always feels rushed and stressful.

I have tried the oatmeal with yogurt and spiced roasted apple and it is so wonderful especially on a cold Irish morning!

I have also made the homemade bath salts and used some lavender oil in them, what a great idea! I have made some up to share with my mum and seeing how happy the homemade gift made her I'm sure i'll start giving them as thank you gifts to friends and family.

This week i intend to use the tips for date night to make a nice cosy meal at home, this is an area where we are lacking and usually end up in a noisy restaurant and rushing to make it to the cinema in time! I'm thinking the grilled steak with herb butter and capers would be perfect with a movie and hot chocolate after!

There is just so much in this book and I have found myself dipping into it again and again.

Oh and I must say that I think this book will be absolutely beautiful in hardcover I don't think the ebook version does it justice!

Thanks to netGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

A lovely cosy read. I loved the concept and idea of Hygge especially as it can be incorporated into all of our lives wherever we live. I enjoyed reading about the Scandinavian way of life, and how the sharp weather forces them to cuddle up together during the long winter days. I liked some of the recipes but would probably swap this bit for my own type of comfort food. Overall a lovely feel good book that ensourages people to slow down and enjoy the small comforts I life.

The Hygge Life by Gunnar Karl Gislason andJody Eddy explores the Scandinavian concept of Hygge, which is basically loving yourself and others as well as living more aware and not racing through life. This concept is a beautiful one. This book guides us through starting our day with imagination and family, as well as a gentle hike and a good cup of coffee. We are shown the value of staying in and being with family. We are given some wonderful ideas to do with both family and friends. Hygge isn't about rushing through life its about immersing yourself in life and enjoying it. This book is filled with recipes from freshly brewed coffee in the morning to brautwerst and smashed potatoes, as well as some Scandinavian recipes for cookies of all kinds. The Hygge Life also shows us the importance of self care and how to have our own spa at home. This is a great book if you want to slow down your life and enjoy it, as well as if you want to find new recipes to enjoy and activities to.do with family and friends. I think everyone who doesn't know what hygge is should read this book.
