I got to 18% through this book and decided to DNF (Did Not Finish) it. I was very excited for some sexy time with a prince, which I noticed was where this book was heading. I just wasn't a fan of the characters or their relationship. This definitely seems like a books that someone may enjoy. It's not my style but it could definitely be a guilty pleasure for someone. I gave it 3 stars despite the fact I didn't finish it because the writing was good and everything was fine with it. It just wasn't my style of book.

The book overall was good. It started out very sad and dreary and then picked up when our lovely main characters met in the most hilarious way. It was not a tear jerker for me, but definitely had me throwing things. I was angry a few times at our beloved Prince, but that was expected, I hope. Go read this book!!

Kian and Savvy meet at an event where all eyes are on him and she’s the waitress who rescues him from an awkward situation. Intrigued by a woman who isn’t a crown chaser, Kian finds out where she lives and works and begins to pursue her. As the relationship progresses, Kian finds himself developing stronger feelings for Savvy, but she has a secret that may change everything.

Royal Pain was an entertaining contemporary romance with likable characters and a fast-moving plot. Outwardly Kian revels in his playboy status and the fact that he’s royal without the responsibility. Privately, he struggles with his place in his family and his father’s cold demeanor. His brother’s kidnapping means he is now the crown prince and the new weight on his shoulders is almost more than he can bear.

With a history of feeling second-best from both her parents and past affairs, Savannah (Savvy) has insecurities that run deep. Determined to save herself from more heartache, she tries to keep Kian at arm’s length but his persistence softens her defenses. But can a romance between a writer/waitress and a prince possibly have a future?

While Royal Pain provided fun escapism, it wasn’t without issues. Kian’s twin brother Garrett was kidnapped three months ago and yet for the first part of the novel Kian seems solidly focused on womanizing and romancing. The story felt off-kilter with so much attention given to the romance aspect in the midst of such a shocking event. It made it hard for the reader (well, me) to feel invested in Garret’s precarious situation when his own brother didn’t seem to be. Next, I don’t think I’ve ever complained about too many sex scenes, but there were so many that I actually found myself starting to skim them. And lastly, the ending was incredibly abrupt and left much unresolved. I understand this is the first in a series but there were just too many loose threads and open plot lines to provide a satisfying ending.

Readers who like their romance with a royal twist (and heavy on the sexy times) will likely enjoy this one.

Kian and Savannah totally needed each other. Kian dealt with a lot of drama with his brother being kidnapped, and all kinds of royal revelations that followed, and Savannah wouldn't let him get away with any heavy-handed nonsense. I enjoyed it.

Predictable plot, but well written and overall an enjoyable read

Royal Pain is a novel about the second to the throne and playboy Kian. His twin was born a mere minutes before him, allowing Kian to do as he pleases, whenever he pleases with no responsibility. That is until trouble find his family and he is thrust into a life he never was trained for or imagined having to live. In the middle of all this is Savannah. Attraction is mutual on both parties but her past may hinder them and his past isn't clean or monogamous. Is this passion just fleeting until he tires or is she the one to change his heart? Can Savannah trust him enough to believe in forevers, can her past stay in the past? These are all the questions you want answers to an more while reading this.

This was a entertaining read for sure. It was nice to see that people can change by choice for themselves and grow.

Bartender meets hot playboy prince and romance and drama ensues. I had high hopes for this book. I liked the blurb and I like Tracy Wolff's brand of storytelling.

So, then, why only 3 stars?

Well, for starters, I didn't get much of an idea of who Savvy was as a character until deep into the book and even then, it was basically a throwaway sentence. Despite this being a book that alternated POVs from chapter to chapter, most of the book focused on Prince Kian and his POV. Understandably, the bulk of the drama in the book was due to the disappearance of his older brother and his sudden ascension to the role of the crown prince. BUT, Savvy had her own share of past heartbreak and book seemed to really gloss over things that had led her to approaching relationships the way she did. As a result, Prince Kian came off self-centered and narcissistic and Savvy came off as a bit player in her own story.

However, I did like the set up for book 2 a lot and am a lot more interested in reading THAT story. I have no idea who the love interest will be but given who the H is, I'm very interested to see where the author takes his story.

What is it about royalty? We—or at least I am always a sucker for royalty romance. Maybe it’s because I can think maybe something like that might happen to me? Hey, it happened to the princess of Denmark who famously met the crown prince at a bar in Sydney, Australia. She was a commoner, too. Though of course, don’t worry. Even if I were to be picked up in a bar, I’d remain true. But I digress…

Royal Pain by Tracy Wolff features the “spare” of the Wildemar throne who is a twin. Kian falls in love with Savannah Breslin just when his twin is kidnapped. Yup. And what’s more, Savvy has a history with the heir. It makes for an interesting reunion after they finally extract Garrett (the heir) from kidnappers. Just what their history is, you’ll have to read to find out.

The story is sound, and as we leave summer, this is a fantastic beach read. I wanted to know about Savannah and how the two twins reconcile their relationship. And I can’t wait for Garratt’s story. But now it’s Kian’s. And I love his transformation from playboy rake to responsible twin. He’s layered and real. And provides just enough reality to make him believable. We are able to sympathize with him by the end. He is made to be a real person.

I think of the emphasis she put on my title, think of how unimpressed she seems with what that title stands for. She says she’s going back to work, and I could probably find her upstairs in the ballroom. But something tells me Savvy isn’t the type to take kindly to me messing with her when she has a job to do.

Though Kian may act like the next crown prince, it takes a special person to knock him down a few to the level of mediocre and normal, which is not in a crown prince’s dictionary.

I’m not sure what it is about her that intrigues me so much. Maybe it’s the fact that she turned me down-God Knows, that doesn’t happen very often. Maybe it’s the way she has no trouble speaking her mind to me. Maybe it’s that she’s gorgeous.

Or maybe, just maybe It’s the fact that, when I was talking to her, I felt Good for the first time since Garrett went missing.

Though the characterizations are realistic, it doesn’t take away from the chemistry!

“Kian.” This time when she says my name, it sounds more like a plea than a protest. It’s the sound I’ve been waiting for, the one that got me hot last night and had me tossing and turning in sweat-soaked sheets.

Yes, this relationship had me hot and bothered too, until they have their HEA at the end. Another great read by Ms. Wolff.

Royal Pain by Tracy Wolff is book 1 of His Royal Hotness series. It's my first time reading something by this author. I liked the blurb and I was expecting a nice read but it turned out to be a great one and a pleasant surprise!

♥ The story ♥

Kian is the second son of the Royal Family of Wildemar. He's always had a carefree attitude and enjoyed all the perks of being a royal and didn't bother with the responsibilities. However, when his twin and older brother, Crown Prince Garrett of Wildemar is kidnapped, Kian is forced to step into his role. The pressure is real but a chance encounter with a mysterious and fascinating waitress will make him see things differently.

♥ My review ♥

I was hooked from the very first page. This story is so addictive. The writing is good, the pace perfect. There were no boring scenes, no uninteresting details.

It starts with a very intriguing scene where we learn about Kian's lifestyle and reputation as His Royal Hotness and then the real action takes place. From the moment Kian and Savvy meet, I couldn't stop smiling. Kian was so sweet and Savvannah so strong and vulnerable at the same time. The insta-lust, that feeling that tells you there is something more between them, the palpable attraction. It was all so perfectly described you could feel it.

Kian and Savvy's relationship was perfect. This is the kind of story I love. The steamy, raw and passionate kind of relationship, with a lot of confrontations. I LOVED it. The only reason this do not get a 5 star is because I wanted more! I wanted this story to be dragged and not stop at the promise they gave each other.

Also the twist with Garrett was mind-blowing. Be it about what happened to him and how it affected him and Kian. But also what Kian learns about him and Savvannah and how he got possessive and jealous. I loved his every reaction as well as Garrett's and Savvy's.

I just can't wait to read book 2. I guess it would be about Garrett and that's something I would really like to read. But I really hope I'd get to know more about Kian and Savvannah as well.

Royal Pain is the first book in the His Royal Hotness series from Tracy Wolff. Prince Kian of Wildemar is the spare, as his twin brother was born first. However, when his Crown Prince brother Garrett is kidnapped, Kian must step up as acting Crown Prince while everyone waits to hear of Garrett's fate. I loved that Kian owned his playboy ways, but totally stepped up to help his country when the need arose.

Savannah Breslin probably was my favorite character of this book. She is a smart and sexy and knows what she wants out of life. I love how strong she was, yet also had a bit of vulnerability to her as well. I will say I had a bit of an issue with the fact that she had dated Garrett years ago before and had an intimate relationship with him. It might just be me, but I found it strange that she had a sexual relationship with both brothers. I will say I did love Savannah (Savvy) and Kian together, but it put me off for a bit originally. I found myself actually wanting them to find a way to make things work between them, as they had a sweetness and steaminess to their times together that totally worked for me.

I loved the element of suspense behind Garrett's kidnapping and search for him. I also really loved the fact that Kian was willing to go up against anyone to make sure they didn't give up on Garrett. I loved the twin thing between Garrett and Kian and how strong it was both during the kidnapping and after Garrett returned. I loved that Kian and Garrett got each other in a way no one else really did.

Royal Pain was a very enjoyable story, though it did move a bit slowly at times. I really liked Kian and Savannah's story and can't wait to get Garrett's story next. I can't wait for Garrett to prove how strong he really is when we get his full story.

Rating: 4 Stars (B-)

I wanted to just love this book, I honestly did...but I was almost annoyed from the get go. He is a prince, a PRINCE, with that we all know comes money and status. I did not need the bombardment of label dropping, everything from his tie to his socks. I GET IT, he can afford to dress like royalty. I do not need all that information.
I was also a bit lost by the fact that the Royal Prince has been kidnapped and it takes 3 months to locate him. Not saying that things like this do not take time. I had issue with Kian's twin brother is kidnapped and he is out there scoring or trying to score chicks. What?
I could not get into Kian and Savvy's "relationship." Insta love rarely works for me. She was off putting towards Kian and he loved it, or something like that. He was absolutely drawn to Savvy and had to have her.
Once Savvy's "secret" is revealed , I was not interested any more, honestly. It did nothing for me. I am suppose to believe that his royal highness to the throne was in a secret relationship for not a year or even two, BUT 5, nope I don't buy it. Royals have no privacy!
The story was sexy and I really liked the banter of Savvy and Kian, but that was it. This story was just too much of a lot of things.
I really hope they redeem Garrett, because he deserves it.

Well written story with nice plot and story line. It was a bit confusing for me sometimes because there are a lot going on in this story. Kian is forced to be heir because his brother disappears. At a party he meets Savvy who is a waitress there. They have instant-love and attraction. They have both a lot to deal with.
There are a lot of twists and turns in this story. They confused me but gives a lot of action and drama to it.
The chemistry is okay. I would have liked there was more depth in the story instead of all the different twists.
But it is an enjoyable read.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book for my honest review!

Good solid book. I liked the relationship between Kian and Savvy. They had good chemistry and I was rooting for them to be together. This was a cute and sweet story with a lot of steam between the mcs. I liked the conflict and resolution to this one. It fit the book well. Looking forward to Garrett's story.

I love a story with a overconfident and arrogant prince falling for the unexpected but desirable woman that changes everything. This was that story and it delivered on all points for me. There was flirty banter between Kian and Savvy that kept me intrigued with where their relationship was headed. Not to mention the suspense of his brother missing and Savvy's secret this was one story worth spending time with. It moved at a quick pace which kept the story light and entertaining.

This is a likable story that left me with some questions but as it is the first in the series, I am okay with that. Prince Kian has always been the spare but when his brother Garrett is kidnapped, he is suddenly in a roll he never wanted. I understand that Kian has never been the one in the hot seat to be King but at times, I just expected more from him. Savvy happens to be in the right place at the right time when she meets Kian. While Savvy is more than she seems upon first meeting Kian, I did not really get a good sense of who she was.
I am looking forward to the next book. As this story went on there was so much that happened to and around Garrett that I was more interested in what was going on with his character.

Royal Pain is book 1 in the new series His Royal Hotness and I have to admit I found it hard to get into but I’m so glad I persevered because I really enjoyed this book. This is Prince Kian of Wildemar and waitress Savannah Breslin’s story a naughty Cinderella fairytale !
Prince Kian is called back home when his twin brother goes missing, he wasn’t meant to take the throne and he wasn’t prepared to become the dutiful next in line and things are not made worse when he meets and falls for a waitress called Savvy....
Prince Kian finds himself not only trying to find his twin but also trying to find his Cinderella, the girl that he had a instant connection with but can a Royal find happiness with a commoner, will the King allow it to happen.
Great start to the series looking forward to book 2

If you are looking for pure escapism and steamy sexy time, then this book would fit the bill.
Unfortunately, when I went diving into Royal Pain I was hoping for a little bit more.
To be brutally honest, Ms Wolff teases us with Kian. He's a unique character. He's a playboy prince, the "spare," but really so much more. When I say she teases the reader with him, I mean she gives us glimpses of the more behind the persona and even allows it to shine at times. But, she has paired him with an underdeveloped heroine.
Savvy starts out incredibly interesting, but fizzles into being "that girl" who waits for scraps of attention and then is grateful to get them.
I found myself entertained right up until the end. It really felt like things that had been built up weren't addressed by the abrupt conclusion to the story. There was a feeling that the author either ran out of time or choose to keep something back for the sequel.
Royal Pain isn't a bad book, but I don't feel like it lived up to its potential, so just an average read for me.

4.5 stars

Perfect for my addiction to the royal trope. Absolutely loved this one. The romance was on point. I loved the twist regarding Savannah and the fact that it was revealed pretty early on in the book. And I loved that I got a good amount of time getting to know Kian's brother and father before the next book comes around. I can't wait for it.
