I enjoyed reading The Coppersmith Farmhouse by Denver Perry; I liked the small town setting and I enjoyed the writing style, The romance between the main characters had me interested throughout the book. I am glad that I had the opportunity to read another book by this author,

THE COPPERSMITH FARMHOUSE was my first Devney Perry read and I immediately fell for her writing style. It did take me a while to warm up to Jess though. He was a bit too “it’s my way or no way” for me but my heart couldn’t help but melt at the way he treats Gigi and Rowan. While the overall focus of the story is on Gigi’s budding relationship with Jess, I liked how the underlying events taking place throughout came together for an explosive ending. I’m very much looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I’m in a bit of a conundrum over this one, well...not really, but in a sense.

I loved Gigi and Roe. LOVED them. Gigi was fun, sweet and had a good heart and Roe was all kinds of fun and when it was the two of them, I that mother/daughter bond jumped off the page.
Then there is Jess. In the end, he was okay for me, but it took a lot to get there because while I loved and adore Alpha AF asshats, his kind of alpha AF just didn’t do it for me. It felt immature to me and he came off as a bully more often than not. So with me being meh about Jess, it’s no wonder my feelings towards his and Gigi’s journey are tepid. It just didn’t do it for me, and I really wish it did, but I didn’t have the happy happy joy joy feelings when they finally got on the same page.

After hearing all the good things about this book, and this author in general, it was disappointing that I didn’t love this book as much as everyone else, it sucks, but it is what it is. But I did enjoy the authors writing style and there were secondary characters I enjoyed, so I’ll be checking out the next book in the series and crossing my toes that things work out a little better.

The Coppersmith Farmhouse is a contemporary small town romance set in Montana, featuring Gigi, a single mother from big city and Jess, a local sheriff. This book was an OK read for me. I liked small town setting and I enjoyed the writing style, but I had a major problem with Jess. He was a controlling man with a short temper, who constantly made decisions for Gigi and her daughter without consulting her. I don't see how any author in this day and age can write such a jackass character and think he is a good romantic hero. I am going to give this book 3 stars because despite my dislike of Jess, I was interested enough in the story to continue reading. But this is very generous 3 stars because Jess and Gigi's relationship is not a good one in my opinion.

I absolutely loved this book. Really reminds me of Kristen Ashley's writing (in a good way) just a slow burn, intriguing romance, that I can never get enough of. Love the character of Jess and his Alpha ways lol. Also loved how Gigi always wanted to stand up to Jess but never could because he would kiss or do something cute and it would throw her for a loop. I really wish I could re read this book just to experience the joy of it all over again. Can't wait to get into the second book.

This book is now on my list of favorite books of all time. It holds a coveted spot along with a select few other books.

I read The Coppersmith Farmhouse and thought to myself how can this be the author's first book. It has the feeling and quality of KA and COHO. This author is a hidden gem and will definitely become an extremely well known as one of the greats!

The writing is stellar, the plot intriguing and captivating! I can't recommend this book enough.

This is my first read by this author. Wow! Just nailed for me. Love the mountain setting, small town, single parent, oh and let's not forget a swoony, grumpy hero who just needs a big old hug!

Gigi and Jess start off on the wrong foot and things go down hill from there. Gigi is used to being on her own and willing to fight her own battles. Thank goodness Jess sees the error of his ways and sets about trying to win back Gigi's favor.

Lots of tender moments. Sweet little girl throwing her love around. And when Gigi and Jess finally give in to each other, it's like it was meant to be.

Great traditional romanctic read! Loved the secondary characters as well. I hope this family pops up in the next books so we can keep tabs on them.

This is 1st person POV, Gigi & Jess. Gigi & her 4 year old daughter Rowen move from Spokane to Prescott, Montana (s/w corner of the state). Gigi inherited a house from Ben Coppersmith, an elderly man that she cared for in Spokane. Gigi is a nurse and soon takes job in the town's community hospital.
Jess is the town's sheriff. He and Gigi do not hit it off very well when they "meet cute' at the hospital's ER. They clash like nobody's business. I thought that this would be really milked out. I did crack up at the "running" ticket that Jess gave Gigi.
A lot of the book is Jess & Gigi yanking each other's chain. Gigi is more serious and it makes her an easier target for Jess.
Gigi had a very bad experience with Rowen's dad. He was a one night stand. After Gigi had Rowen, they never saw him again. It make her skittish with men. Especially men that she's attracted to.
In the first couple of chapters, there's a flash back or two telling how Gigi met Ben Coppersmith. In present day, it's revealed that Ben also played a big role in Jess' young life. Like a father figure or an uncle.

Gigi and Jess start to get along when Jess realizes that Gigi isn't the grasping gold digger that he first thought she was. Jess has a talk with himself about not being such an asshole.
Gigi hadn't been on a date since she had Rowen. Gigi starts off a little stiff, but soon feels more comfortable around Jess. I really LOVED how this author spent a lot of time on their relationship. They didn't just dance around each other & then confess their hearts at the very end. Jess had not had a relationship in a very long time if ever. He was more of a lone wolf.
Jess was very sweet to Gigi & it was funny when he wanted his way. He would sweet talk her (and more). Then Gigi would let him have his way. She was like putty & she knew it! I like that persuasion technique! So did Gigi.
Gigi had concerns: Was she good enough for Jess? Was Jess' job too risky? Prescott is a small town, but Jess was trying to solve some serious cases.

The last 1/3 or so of the book involved Jess trying to find who was behind the recent drug dealing in the area. I didn't think that it fit with the rest of the story. It went from gritty to fairly violent at the end. The rest of the story was a push/pull of Jess & Gigi's romance.
I loved Rowen, she's very cute and very realistic, but some things seemed a little too advanced for a 4 year old. I liked Maisy- Gigi's bff , but her story was left hanging a little.
There is an HEA. and a great epilogue. The next books are different H/hs

Well this is a fine "Welcome to your new job." Not.

Charming.

Never mind if Ben is a serial killer, why would you trust a stranger to go to your house alone?

You definitely learned what a Yente was in my town.

What year do you think this is exactly, Jess?

Ah, the mongoose story.

There's a difference between peace and loneliness.

I just got the Anita Shovel joke.

She might have been safer in Spokane.

The man likes his donuts!

He's quick to get angry, justifiably so, but he also apologizes.

Naughty sheriff daddy, teaching Rowen bad words in the garage.

She wakes her kid up for Christmas, not the other way around? Hmm.

Doc, you're a twat.

Attagirl, Maisy.

Their house is going to be huge if Jess starts building every time he gets bored.

Rowen is cute as a big sister. But should they be around all that dust?

I don't blame Maisy for changing careers. I would have done the same thing if I was Gigi.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A sweet, slow moving ramble of a romance that takes its time to build a feeling of love, belonging and community. I remember a lot of people comparing the author to Kristen Ashley but I found Devney Perry's voice to be distinctively different - there's a gentle, deliberate storytelling here. Yes, there's a bossy, protective alpha dude (a sheriff, no less) but Gigi was a more independent single mom without her head in the clouds like KA's girly heroines. There is definitely a sense that the author wanted the reader to fall in love with Montana just as much as with Jess and Gigi.

I also read many of the Jamison Valley books out of order and now have to admit that The Coppersmith Farmhouse is my least favorite. It suffers from slow pacing and world building, but once you are in Jamison Valley, you will fall in love with the place and its people. Once I finished Gigi and Jess' story, I knew I had to have Maisy's story (The Bitterroot Inn) and the whole arc did not disappoint at all.

Note: I read and voluntarily reviewed this generously provided by Netgalley and the publisher.

As a debut novel, this was top notch!! Had all the elements I just love, small town setting, feisty heroine, a sweet little girl, sexy sheriff and some danger mixed in.

Gigi and her little daughter Rowen needed a fresh start, so when she is gifted a farmhouse in small town Prescott, Montana it was a blessing. Then she meets the sheriff and it was not a good first impression. I liked that the misunderstanding was short lived and once it was cleared up, Sheriff Jess Cleary was all in. He was the ultimate possessive, protective swoony alpha that I love so much.

The banter between the two main characters was great! Loved the scene with the ticket for running on the wrong side of the road! The little bit of suspense kept me interested, but it's the love story between Gigi, little Rowen and Jess is what made the book for me.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book.

After reading one of Devney Perry’s other books in the Jamison Valley series, I knew I wanted to go back and catch up and am certainly glad I did. I like Devney’s writing style, and while has been compared to Kristen Ashley, Ms. Perry has her own style and it shines through on this book. Written with lots of suspense and steamy romance, Coppersmith Farmhouse has everything you want in a good read.

I enjoyed this book immensely! They hero was uber alpha and was the perfect match for the heroine. I'm a big fan of this author and have read all of her books she's published.

5 Effing Stars

New town. New house. New Car. New life.

I loved everything about this story, you may say right book, right time. I have had this sitting on my kindle for ages and when I hit a book funk this week, I thought why not? Great decision!!!!

Georgia/Gigi was a strong and independent woman who wanted nothing more than to make a safe loving and fun home for her daughter Rowen (who is super cute). So when an elderly man who she had befriended while being his nurse passed away and left her a farmhouse in a small town, she thought this could be just the thing for them. Little does she know this sleepy little town has a lot more going on in it than she could imagine.

Not going to lie, I love a bossy alpha but at the start of this Jess may have taken alpha just a bit too far. Doesn't matter though I still fell hard for this small town sheriff.

I enjoyed the pace of this story and that it gave me a little of everything. It was funny, serious, cute, sweet, hot and even had a little suspense thrown in for good measure..

I am so looking forward to reading the rest of this series, the men of Jamison Valley are completely swoon worthy!! -Alicia, 5 Stars

I’d heard so much about these books, this author, that I was thrilled to finally sit down with the first in the series. Small town romance is on my go to list and this one definitely lived up to all the hype!

Gigi was starting over in a small, small town with her adorable little girl. It was just the two of them and, though mourning the friend who made their new start possible, she was looking forward to the future. New job, new home, new hope. Little did she know the town sheriff would be such an in-your-face jerk… or so attractive…

“I was hot for a man who I absolutely did not like one bit.”

I loved the chemistry that sparked between Gigi and Jess right from the start. Jess was hostile but, like adults, they managed to get to the heart of the problem and move past it. That’s not to say that it wasn’t very bumpy at first – it really was as they both had to work through misconceptions and a horribly wrong first impression. Jess was an alpha male with caveman tendencies and that seemed to come out more and more as they became closer. Cue the fireworks because Gigi was used to thinking and doing for herself. Having someone to rely on was great, especially someone who could be sweet and supportive, but the caveman thing? Yeah, there were problems with that…. Which meant for a highly entertaining courtship and read…

I can’t wait to return to Jamison Valley! ~Diane, 4.5 stars

First, let me say, Perry, you have a new fangirl! This is by far one of the best reads of the year and I've suggested it to everyone. You've done an amazing job with The Coppersmith Farmhouse. I seriously can't wait for my next read by you!

I was so excited to jump on the Devney Perry train and see what all the fuss was about and now I truly get it. This book was amazing. I don't know how many times I'm gonna say this but my god I'm loving anything I read of romantic suspense, this trope is rapidly becoming a favorite.

I love how well romance and mystery are tangled together in, they make such a good book if well written and this one was that and beyond. I love Perry's writing and her characters and just everything. I'm super excited to continue reading this series when I get the time to do so.

The Coppersmith Farmhouse had it all.. from enemies to lovers romance, sexy and sweet alpha males, angst, love, mystery all intertwined in the most magnificent way. It will have you enthralled from page 1 and dying to solve the mystery and rooting for Georgia and Jess. These two were perfect together.

I am always excited to discover a new author and Devon Perry is now on my favorite authors list. After reading The Coppersmith Farmhouse, I want to read all of the other books in the Jamison Valley series. This is a beautifully written story with strong, unforgettable characters. Jess, the hero is an alpha male who always expects to get his way, and usually does. He is handsome and women fall all over him.

Gigi, the heroine is feisty and hardworking and has learned not to trust easily. She is a nurse and has just moved to Prescott, Montana with her four year old daughter, Rowen. Gigi has had a tough time and decides to move to the small town and start over and hopes her luck will change from bad to good.

Jess is the town sheriff and I loved everything about him. He is a sexy, protective alpha male with strong opinions. Jess grew up taking care of his mom. He is sweet, good at reading people, takes care of those close to him and always needs to be in charge. Jess is steady and honest and up front with Gigi about his feeling and he is wonderful with her daughter, Rowen.

Jess and Gigi have a lot of chemistry. When they first meet, things do not go well but as time goes by, they find it hard to fight their attraction. Although Gigi is often frustrated with Jess’s dictatorial ways, she finds herself giving in to him. Jess is enthralled with Gigi. Yet, Gigi is constantly questioning Jess’s motives for being with her because Gigi doesn’t have a lot of confidence when it comes to men. I loved the story and these two characters as they struggle to discover each other and start a relationship. There are alternating POVs, so we know what each of them are thinking. Perfection.

Gigi and her daughter Rowen inherit The Copper Smith Farmhouse in Prescott Montana from her elderly friend Ben. Ben left Prescott after his wife passed never to return, however, he kept his farmhouse and he left Jesse (Brick) to take care of and maintain the house in his absence. You see Ben took Jesse under his wing as a child when he had a hard home life, he taught him, he helped him, he cared for him like a father and it was very hard on Jesse when Ben left but he understood. He always LOVED the farmhouse and his heart was broken when he found that Ben left the house to Gigi and Rowen. He thought the worst of Gigi and was not very welcoming. Gigi was struggling because she didn’t understand his hostility when Ben said he was an amazing man and everyone in town loved the Sheriff.

Slowly but surely Jesse learns the truth and sets out to make things right. Now starts a love affair that is sweet and fun and exciting. Not only between Jesse and his Georgia but also Jesse and Rowen, his “Little Bit”, watching him with her was adorable. Their initial happiness is short-lived. There is danger in Prescott, Jesse needs to find out what is happening and who is bringing all of the drugs in. Who is stealing from the towns people, who is threatening the serenity they all know and love.

I have to say that I started this series out of order and it was fine, however, you NEED to read them all, just because they are all awesome. Devney Perry makes you feel like you are there, she endears her characters, even when they are being jerks. She makes you feel and she makes you see and you feel like you know them. While I will admit this is not my favorite of the series I still feel this is a 5 star read, all are. Please do yourself a favor and pick up the Jamison Valley Series you will thank me.

I loved this! It was an awesome introduction to the Jamison Valley series. I was exciting while reading, I loved the characters, and the underlying element of suspense. I couldn't stop smiling because there were just so many wonderful moments mixed in. Excellent read!

I loved Jess and Gigi (Georgia) meeting, the tension and animosity between them was awesome. I really loved them coming together and seeing how sweet Jess was. He was so alpha and commanding but underneath all that was this amazingly charismatic man and I fell hard for him. I thought Gigi was fantastic too. She was so strong and determined to start a new life for her daughter, I loved how caring she was. I really enjoyed watching her open up to Jess. Together they had such great chemistry and I felt like there were just so many special moments that gave me butterflies… I love that feeling!

It's just a beautiful story filled with wonderful moments as well as emotional ones that’s full of heart and I loved it. Jess and Georgia falling in love pretty much melted me. Throw in a kid and boom! I was done. I loved Rowan. I really like that she was such an integral part and was well written. I swear every scene she had with Jess had me saying “awwwww.” I loved the people in the town and the picturesque scenes the author painted of Jamison Valley. I'm super excited for Silas and Felicity’s story and can't wait to see what will happen with Maisy. I’m totally hooked!

I thought the writing was excellent with great character development. There was a suspense element that was subtly building and I loved the anticipation of finding out all those details, I was invested the entire time. I also loved the time span of the story so we really get to see the characters develop and grow over time. It’s light drama for the most part but that ending was action packed and had me on the edge of my seat.

Simply fantastic! It was a full, solid story and I pretty much blew off an entire day so I could just sit and read and get lost in this world. It was so worth it, I loved every second!
