Charles Spurgeon is one of, my favorite religious writers. I prefer short daily devotionals. With three minute devotionals, I can read more than one day or do more research on my own if I have more time. When I am pressed for time the 3-minute devotions keeps in in the word consistently.
I enjoyed this book. The verses chosen were very relatable and provided great insights.

This has a varied selection of Spurgeon’s writings divided handily into devotional sized chunks for daily reading. The format was good, though I found his content a little hit and miss. It felt often like judgement was his favourite theme, and some of his comments on healing felt a little dated. But when Spurgeon is good, he’s very very good, and this is a great resource for getting a taster of it.

These were good, short devotions that really helped me to think more. I had never encountered Spurgeon before this book and I enjoyed thoughts and devotions.

3-Minute Devotions with Charles Spurgeon compiled by Barbour Staff is a nice devotion book when you need a quick message. The inspirational readings are as relevant today as when they were written. I appreciated the addition of scripture and a short prayer for each devotion. This book would make a wonderful gift. I am planning to purchase a few for upcoming the holiday season. I must confess that I spend more than 3 minutes meditating on the devotions. The devotions make a wonderful starting point for spiritual growth.

This is a really good little book of encouragement.

Charles Spurgeon is a name known to many Christians: he was a 19th century Baptist preacher famed for his sermons and oratory. This book 'lightly edits' his words into very short devotions which are all prefaced by a Bible verse and end with a prayer.

Part of the special beauty of this book lies in its being as described, three-minute devotions: you can pick this book up when you wake, before you go to sleep and at as many points during the day as you need or want to, without losing your place - pick a devotion at random or by heading. The devotions are deep enough to satisfy but short enough to be tackled as you make dinner, after you park the car or during a work tea-break. A lifeline.

I am a fan of devotionals. This collection is very good. I like the topic heading, the bible verse, the devotional and the final thought. The devotionals will make you think about things, and will stay with you throughout the day. The only thing that I would have liked to see was the topic heading listed in the table of contents. This way if something is heavy on your heart, soul or spirit, you can go straight to the devotional that will hopefully minister to you. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.
