Sort of a forced prince and the pauper case, Lexi’s twin sister tricks her into going to the altar where she’s supposed to be. Instead of dumping Jack in her twin’s place, Lexi still says “I do”, throwing both her and Jack into a messy situation.
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this. I have read books where a sibling got tricked into sticky situations before that hadn’t worked for me. This one, however, was a really cute and quick read. I liked all of the characters in the story. I liked how the author was able to work the situation out and gets us ready for the next book. I look forward to reading more from this author.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
Jack is going to marry Grace. Grace is leaving Jack. Lexi, Grace’s twin, has to break the news to him. Jack doesn’t give Lexi a chance. Lexi says “I do.” Jack signs the marriage certificate, Lexi signs as well. Jack wants to take his new wife to bed. Lexi just ruined Jack’s plans.
If all of that sounds convoluted, that’s nothing compared to the legalities this situation has put this couple into. For a while my head was spinning trying to keep up with whether Jack and Lexi were officially married and/or if Lexi had committed fraud and would be spending her foreseeable future in jail.
This was a quick fun read with some secondary characters that added to the feel and texture of the story. It is low on steam, high on charm and what I would consider a bit of a slow burn. There were definitely times I wanted to take a cattle prod to the hero but in the end Ms. Kelly spit and shined this cowboy redeeming him completely in my eyes.
I will definitely be looking into Rachel and Clint’s novella as well as the rest of this series.

What do you do when your twin sister tricks you into trying on her wedding dress & then hightails it out the door? Lexi tried to tell her sister Grace's intended in a way that would minimize the humiliation but everything conspired against her. She ended up going through with the wedding without thinking of the full consequences. She's just sure Grace will come back in a day or too.
Jack can't believe what Lexi has told him. Right after the wedding, she told him Grace ran & she'd tried to tell him but everyone just kept ignoring her. He immediately thinks of all the legal consequences that Lexi hadn't thought of. They decide to continue with the charade until they can talk to his lawyer & find out where they stand. Will they be in legal trouble? Will Grace come back? Can they avoid Jack's daughter, Annabeth, being hurt?
This was a sweet romance with a few twists. There is romance, mystery & danger all intermixed. There is a chemistry present from the beginning between Lexi & Jack & it was interesting to watch their relationship evolve. Anna Beth & Uncle Crusty give the story an added dimension & presence. I liked Lexi & Annabeth but really am undecided on Grace. Did she realize the feelings weren't there between her & Jack or did she just not care? There were times when I could hit Jack. His character had moments where he was dismissive of Lexi & her abilities. Even understanding the circumstances of his first wife's death, I wouldn't have put up with it & I was glad to see Lexi's character didn't either. I hope the writer follows up with Grace's story. I am going to check since I'm interested in reading it.
I received this book via NetGalley.
Wow. The Wedding Rescue isn't your typical fake marriage book. Not a chance. This book has depth, characters that are realistic and more Drama the an episode of Real Housewives.
Jack and Grace are suppose to be entering a marriage of convenience. But Grace can't go thru with it and sets her twin sister Lexi up to take fall. A comedy of errors happen and Lexi ends up marrying Jack.
The emotions in this book grab ahold of the reader and has you shaking your head, screaming, and looking around the corners. Lexi fights the chemistry because she believes Jack loves her sister. You can feel her agony jumping of the pages. And at times Jack is a pompus alpha but he has a heart of gold. Throw in a few extra crazy events along with characters and you will be hooked.
This was such a charming romance novel. Can't wait to get my hands on the other Love in Little Tree series!!
I liked The Wedding Rescue by Megan Kelly, the story was sweet and the characters were likable and real. Lexi’s twin sister, Grace, is leaving Jack at the altar. Grace convinces Lexi to “try on” her wedding dress and then sends her out to tell Jack that Grace isn’t marrying him.
Lexi kind of likes Jack, maybe had a bit of a crush on him, but that was before he started dating her sister. Now she doesn’t know what to do. Lexi tells Jack who she is, but it isn’t before they get married. Lexi thinks Grace will be back after the weekend, maybe a week, at most and want Jack for her husband.
Jack is hoping for a peaceful life and believes Grace will be the perfect wife and step-mother to his daughter, he may have had a bit of a crush on Lexi as well, but that was before Grace showed up in town. He isn’t happy to learn he had been duped by Grace and Lexi, and is surprised when Lexi believes he will even consider taking Grace back after she left him.
Lexi pretends to be Grace, not very well because everyone figures out who she is pretty quickly. There is quite a bit of passion and longing between Jack and Lexi, they don’t really understand each other, but they like each other. Probably more than they should. They both realize that maybe their marriage is the one that should be real.
Sweet story, with two stubborn people and a stalker sub-plot that makes it a bit more interesting. Not a lot of love scenes and they had a bit of steam. Enjoyed the book and will probably read more by this author.
This was a terrible book- like maybe a college freshman wrote in a Creative Writing course.
The plot was silly, the events were trite, the dialogue was poor.
I can only give this 1 star. I hate ever doing that, but there is little to redeem this book. It's bad.
This is the first book from Megan Kelly that I have read. I have to say I loved it. It is a love story that I have not had the pleasure of reading before. A case of mistaken identity/sister love.
In this book you have identical twins Lexi and Grace. Lexi is a vet and Grace is an artist. Grace is scheduled to marry Jack, but tricks Lexi into trying on her wedding dresses minutes before the wedding and then taking off knowing she can’t get out the dress on her own. Lexi freaks out and doesn’t know what to do. So she walks down the aisle to break the news to Jack (the fiance). In the mix of wedding activity Lexi ends up marrying Jack. Now there are legal issues and a big fat mess. Lexi doesn’t know what to do and Jack is pissed. Can Lexi help Jack? Can Jack keep her out of jail for fraud? Will they survive and no one end up broken-hearted in the process?
I enjoyed this book immensely. Megan really has a wonderful plot for this book. It is not a common romance story. The characters are brilliant. This book is not only about romance but has a mystery entwined in. Lexi is such a strong and smart girl. Anna is adorable. Jack is a strong sexy rancher man. This story flowed out flawlessly. I love the twin concept. It was dirty how Grace treated her sister and Jack, but I think she knew what she was doing. I can see where she is going with the next book. This may have been the first book, but it definitely won’t be the last I read from this author. If you like romance with a little bit of thriller, then you will love this book. I highly recommend this book.
I didn't even read this book due to the Shocking formatting. Could not read it. Yes I know it's a proof copy but to miss a line every two lines is hard to read. Can't review it. So damn annoying. I'll wait for its release and buy it as the story line sound good. Impossible to read as it is.
