I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

I think this series gets better with every subsequent book, because I found book one okay and liked book two. But, book three - A Wedding Tail had me reading it in one sitting. I'm glad I stuck out with this series! I would have regretted missing out on this one!

Wedding planner Zoe Plum has brides from all walks of life vying for her services. The only problem is: happily-single Zoe doesn’t actually enjoy weddings—but that might change when she meets the singer of a local band playing at one of her weddings. His name is Levi Dolson and he’s too gorgeous for his own good. And now he’s gone ahead and charmed her new dachshund. It’s no secret that Zoe doesn’t believe in fairy tales, but that doesn’t stop her from wanting to make sweet music with Levi. While she’s convinced she doesn’t need a man, when someone starts setting one trap after the next to make sure she never plans a wedding ever again, she might need Levi in more ways than she could have imagined. But just how far is Zoe’s hidden enemy willing to go? The only thing Levi knows for sure is that he will do everything in his power to protect the woman who brings music to his soul. Maybe that will prove to Zoe, once and for all, that he is a man worthy of her heart.
This is the third book in a rescue dog series, but (I am assuming) they are all basically standalones as I didn’t read the other two and didn’t feel like I missed anything. I really liked Zoe and Levi (including Levi’s determination to win Zoe over). It was a bit lengthy where it probably didn’t need to be but overall a good book. I recommend.

This is Book #3 in the Rescue Dog Romance series.  I have read both the first 2 books.  I was a little confused why this was called A Wedding Tail until I read that Zoe lost her beloved dachshund and has not found the 'right' dog.  I can understand that since we lost our beloved husky, Zeus, a year ago.  It is still hard to believe he is gone.  We now have a 4 month old puppy, Storm, who is a German Shepherd husky mix.  She has helped our family heal, but will never replace our Zeus.

Zoe is a wonderful and caring wedding planner.  She has someone out to get her.  Too many things are happening around her, but who is doing it?  I loved the guessing it was this or that character.  Zoe meets Levi at the one wedding she is planning.  Somehow Levi gets passed the wall she put up.  I think at first it was due to a crack he made in the wall.  Each time Levi takes anyway another piece of that wall.

Loved this book!  It warmed by heart.  It also had me on the edge of my seat about who is doing what to Zoe. Loved this series!

Romances aren’t really my thing and reading a book in the middle of the series is not a good idea either. However, this romance story masequerading as a romance really wasn’t that bad. Not the pard of the story that brought me in was in the title is say “A Rescue Do Romance”, I love dogs and I have a soft spot for rescue dogs. I have one of my own. Hence the reason for the 4 book rating, it is a cute story and I think people will enjoy it.

This book was given to me by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Zoe is a wedding planner, who has given up on love after her fiance left her at the altar six years ago. The story kicks off at a wedding where all that can go wrong actually is going wrong and there's nothing Zoe can do to prevent all the chaos in the end. Zoe knows it was a really bad day for her and her business, but wedding expo is coming soon, which should make it up. The wedding expo doesn't go as planned, someone really doesn't want well for Zoe. During all the bad things that is happening to Zoe, there's also something or rather someone to make it more bearable-Levi, a man who she met at the disastrous wedding. Zoe is not very warm toward Levi, but he is determined and doesn't give up on her that easily.

It's the third book in the series and after reading this book I wished I had read the first book before reading this one, but I can always go back and just do that. I liked the second book a bit more, but this installment had a great storyline, characters and mystery as well. I didn't like how Zoe treated Levi at the beginning, especially as Levi always tried to support and help her. Just as in the previous book the main male character was a real book boyfriend candidate. It was a great addition to the series and I'd be happy if the series continued.

A Wedding Tail by Casey Griffin is the third book in A Rescue Dog Romance series. Zoe Plum is a wedding/event planner (owns Plum Crazy Events) and a representative for Pure Pleasure in San Francisco, California. She has been working on the Fisher-Wells wedding for the last year with an extremely difficult bride. Zoe needs the commission from this wedding to help her purchase a home of her own. The wedding day, though, has not been going smoothly. A sick horse (that was going to pull the carriage), a drunk uncle, missing groomsmen, air conditioning on the fritz, doves on the loose, the brides dress does not fit (a little binge eating), and now the organist is ill. Zoe quickly recruits Levi Dolson, guest turned groomsmen turned organist, for the job. The Fisher-Wells wedding quickly deteriorates and Zoe is out a commission. She hopes to get some new clients at The Wedding Expo where she was to have a prime booth location. It seems that it is not Zoe’s week. She finds her booth moved to a back corner right next to Levi Dolson. Levi seems intent on pursing Zoe despite her disinterest. Then someone attacks Zoe’s van and destroys an $11,000 wedding gown. This is just the beginning (so much more) of problems that begin to plague Zoe. Someone is targeting her, but she does not know why. Levi wants to keep Zoe safe and show her that they can have a happily ever after (despite her beliefs).

A Wedding Tail is a light-hearted romance novel with a mystery woven through it. There was one zany incident after another in the book. I am sure most people will find it amusing, but, after a while, I just found it ridiculous (plus the incidents made me nervous, stressed-out). My mother was laughing at the antics in the beginning, but then she agreed it was over-the-top. My rating for A Wedding Tail is 3 out of 5 stars. I felt too time was devoted to Zoe’s sideline of selling sex toys and her copious use of them (she really should invest in rechargeable batteries since she goes through so many). The mystery was uncomplicated. Most readers will pick out the identity of the culprit long before the reveal. A Wedding Tail can be read without having indulged in the first two books in A Rescue Dog Romance series. I am not the right audience for this type of story (I am too pragmatic). Readers who enjoy comedic romances with a light (airy) mystery will like reading A Wedding Tail. It is the perfect book to read while on summer vacation (and lounging by a lake, beach, or pool).

The third installment of Casey Griffin's Rescue Dog tales revolves around wedding planner Zoe Plum. Zoe's been making her mark in the local wedding planner world and things have been going well. She's in the midst of planning her best friend, Piper Summer's, wedding and, as the story opens, Zoe is preparing the Fishers-Wells wedding which should be the another big event feather in her cap. Until everything that can go wrong, seemingly DOES go wrong. The only person keeping his cool is the late-arriving groomsman, Levi Dolson. Zoe doesn't want to have anything further to do with Levi, but against her better judgement she's finding him intriguing and Levi is nothing if not persistent.

As with the proverbial snowball rolling downhill, the problems get bigger, move faster and become more out-of-hand as they go taking Zoe's business and dreams along with them. The one positive constant in her life now is Levi, but when things take an even more dangerous turn, will Levi be able to help Zoe save herself AND her business?

A WEDDING TAIL is the most gripping of the three volumes and the dachshunds are more behind-the-scenes in this story than it's predecessors, but it still has a terrific story line to it and some canine antics to alleviate the main characters tensions.

The suspense, the heart, the hotness, the laughs! This book has got it all!

I loved Levi basically from the start and Zoe was pretty fantastic too. I really love how absolutely vivid everything is, including every character. Zoe's depth and her arc throughout are fantastic here and I loved her strength. The vulnerability underneath it all that slowly eked to the surface really endeared her to me, as well as her obvious thoughtfulness and how deeply she cared for others.

And Levi. Oh Levi. He wasn't at all what you initially expect, except a sexy guy with a mischievous side, instead being so full of heart. The way he persisted and the reason are just so darn sweet.

All supporting characters, especially little Freddy, are just as vivid and well-woven into the story. I haven't read Piper and Aiden's book yet, but did read Addison and Felix's and appreciated how much this managed to give bits about them while still giving Zoe and Levi center stage.

The crazy happenings and the suspense will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat! This was a book that kept me up as I just HAD to keep going.

The sexual tension and explsive (ha) chemistry between Levi and Zoe were fantastic and bordered on naughty at times, in thebest way.

And when you aren't white-knuckling the book, fanning yourself at the heat, or smiling at the heart, you will be laughing.

A cute easy read by a new author for me. Of course the dogs in this story had me mesmerized the whole book...

Zoe faces many troubles while she is planning for a wedding and meets a laid back Levi. It had a small mystery with the romance. Levi was a likable character. Zoe was very difficult to like.

Sandy M’s review of A Wedding Tail (Rescue Dog, Book 3) by Casey Griffin
Contemporary Romance published by St. Martin’s Paperbacks 1 Aug 17

Coming off a slight reading slump in which too many books couldn’t hold my attention, and in between my favorites’ new releases, I decided to try new-to-me authors to end my dry spell. So with this cute cover with a cute premise, Casey Griffin caught my attention. I hoped for good stuff, even though this is the third book in a series.

Unfortunately, because Zoe is supposed to be an elite and sought-after wedding planner, for this particular wedding to start off the book, everything – and I mean everything – goes wrong. Literally one thing after another. Yes, she nips each problem in the bud so the wedding will start on time, and even when it does, the zingers keep on coming during the ceremony and after. All of it is probably for comedic effect, but it honesty was way too much for me. It’s in the middle of all of this she meets the hero, Levi.

He’s called in at the last minute to stand in as a groomsman, but she’s not impressed. Thus, there’s no chemistry between them initially. She is later impressed just a little with his organ skills, which are also needed last minute, but in the whole scheme of the moments going wrong, that’s not much and she still doesn’t care much for him. It’s early in the book, and I know their interaction will continue and change, but I’m sorry to say after the first two chapters, I just didn’t care to go any further with them.

To give a book a fair chance, I usually try to read a few more chapters, but I’ve recently gone through too many like this that left me a bit bored and unwilling to pick it up again when I put it down for one reason or another. I kept telling myself I would try once more to give these two a chance, but when it came right down to it, I just couldn’t. There’s nothing between them to draw me back to see how they get to their HEA.

DNF’ing a book is not something I do lightly. But when my hopes are dashed so soon in a story, I’ve learned to just let go. I may pick up a book in another of Ms. Griffin’s series, but I don’t think I’ll be visiting this one again any time soon.

Grade: DNF

This story opens with Zoe Plum wedding planner going around at a wedding putting out fires before the wedding has even started. It is one disaster after another and it makes you think that someone is doing everything on propose. Well Zoe who plans weddings does not and is not looking for a man for she was left at the alter six years ago and she has decided that she is fine alone. Well that is until Levi Dolson arrived at the wedding as a replacement groomsman and he is actually taken by her. When he volunteers to play the organ because the person suddenly got sick. He tells Zoe he plays the piano and the organ has keys so he should be able to wing it. She is surprised when he was playing Pachelbel. Throughout the rest of the story she would continue to be surprised by Levi, and as much as she tried to push him away he would be there for her when something would go tribally wrong. Zoe had so many things happen to her that by the time her last wedding that she was doing for her friend was taking place it was amazing that she was still in one piece barley. You were going along for the ride, explosion, accident, a fight, another fire, a murder, and still wondering who could it be? Who was the person that wanted to do her harm? All the while her life that she thought she had figured out she did not. At every turn to help her was Levi accept for one week when he was gone with his band and wouldn’t you know it she wanted to talk to him but couldn’t. Did this mean that she was finally after six years breaking down her walls and letting in someone else? A man no less. Read this fun at times and fast paced story of love, murder, mystery, and of course Fred her dachshund who actually likes music and keeps this story moving along and reminds me of the one we had many years ago. Read this very good story with good characters and find out what happens. A very good book.
