I enjoyed Lucas' and Rory's steamy romance. Rory, who was banished from society due to a youthful indiscretion, was a strong h, and I liked that she wasn't cowed by society when banished and wrote about society's double standards. I didn't like the H at first because of his initial snobbery and intolerance of Rory due to her societal standing. However, he grew on me and I felt for him because of the burdens placed on his shoulders. The h and H had excellent chemistry together and the problem that the H faces had me guessing if they'd reach an HEA. There were a few side characters in the story, but not so many to detract from our main characters. I would have liked to read more about Cece's romance, but hopefully that will be the story for the next book. All in all, I enjoyed this read and would recommend it!

This was a silly, fluffy book. I probably won't remember it in a few months, but it was enjoyable enough.

Rory is great heroine filled with ideas that does not mesh with Lucas's ideas at first, then she slowly breaks through his cold and aloof manner. Lucas tempers Rory's more outrageous idea. This was a wonderful historical read..

This was a good book for a rainy day. Unfortunately after about 5 pages I couldn't help but feel that I had already read it. Checked all my libraries with no luck, so it is either a very predictable read or had been previously issued possibly as a sample book.
Aurora “Rory” Paxton has been living in Norfolk with her aunt for eight years when the mysterious Lady Milford shows up at her door with a familiar pair of shoes. Despite having been banished from society after an indecorous liaison, Rory is needed back in London to save her family from an even bigger scandal. After learning that her stepmother is being blackmailed and it’s threatening her sister’s pending marriage, she sets off to use her reputation to catch the blackmailer: “stone-faced prig” Lucas Vale, Marquess of Dashell. But Lucas, as it turns out, is too concerned with repairing his family’s finances to blackmail anybody. After a steamy run-in in his bedchamber, Rory and Lucas discover they’re on the same side and begin to work together to find the extortionist. Though Lucas is about to propose to another young heiress, he finds that the scandalous girl he fell for back when she made her debut may be worth a life of penny-pinching, just as Rory discovers that the man behind the marquess is far warmer than she thought.

really liked it
Arguably this was a three star not a four. However, due to the way this author has of writing a story I went four! There were a few areas I did not care for and reading others reviews, they seemed to feel the same . However, I did enjoy reading the story. I found it had a plot like many others and maybe some unbelievable areas, but still it was a enjoyable read. So if you want a enjoyable read this one is one to buy and just sit and relax. I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom

I had trouble getting into this one. It started out slow and didn't pick up until chapter 9 when she is caught in his bed chamber looking for the letters. Once they team up to find the letters and blackmailer, the story does get better. Their romance was slow to start and there were some surprise villains and twists to who stole the letters and with her half sister Celeste. The surprises kept it interesting and book ended well. Lucas was a strong male lead and his dilemma about whether he should marry the woman he has loved for years even though she is poor, or marry an heiress in order to save his family added some suspense to the plot. I can't say it was my favorite story I've read this year but it was enjoyable.

Olivia Drake has written a solid historical romance with an excellent plot. Loved it!

Anna Paxton is living quietly in the country with her Aunt - sent there after an 'incident' some years ago .
She receives a letter from her step-mother begging her to come to Town - she is being blackmailed and her younger daughters engagement to a Duke is at risk .
Anna is soon employed as a Companion in the main suspects household - Lucas Vale, Marquess of Dashell .
Lucas soon finds her out and resolves to help her find the blackmailer , their attraction not withstanding .
Whilst this was a fairly enjoyable read I found Lucas' love for Anna unrealistic - where was he for the last few years ? I know he now needs to marry an heiress to meet his dead fathers gambling debts BUT surely if he had loved her from their first meeting all those years ago he would have stepped forward to stop her from being ostracised . Where also were all her male friends - could not one off them helped her after the 'incident' .
I will continue to read these books when I am looking for a light historical romance - but hope they will be more believable in the future .

This is the first book I have read of Olivia's. Rory and Lucas set out to unravel one mystery and end up unraveling many more. The fairy godmother was an added bonus along with all the happy ever afters.

This was a fun story. It contained a little of everything, passion, some drama and adventure. New author to me and I would certainly read her books again.
I received an ARC copy of this book from Netgalley.

Olivia is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. This book was awesome! Had me laughing and then crying and laughing again. The characters were well developed and very likeable.

Banished to the country after being caught in a scandal, Aurora Paxton learns to get by on little and rely on her own strengths. Dragged back to London to help solve a mystery that is threatening her younger sister's chances at the life she can now never have, Rory is determined to fly under the radar and create as little disturbance as possible...
For Lucas Vale, that simply isn't going to happen. He has a plan, but Rory's interfering ways, not to mention her courage, humour and beauty, keep distracting him from it.
Olivia Drake is a new author for me, but I'll be keeping an eye out for her books from now on! Rory and Lucas' romance was nicely developed, with a good few dashes of passion to keep us on our toes. The characters in the book were all brilliant - from Rory and Lucas, to the 'evil' stepmother and a rather dashing, cheeky brother, all the way down to the meddling butler and a rogue ex-pirate servant.
A fun, well-paced romance with the right blend of light-hearted drama and passion, I would recommend this for fans of Julia Quinn, Janna MacGregor and Karen Hawkins.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first Olivia Drake book I have read. It was sweet and sexy. I enjoy reading historical romances where the h is older than the coming-out debutante. This hit that mark. The story flowed fairly well. There were a couple places in the story that I thought went too quickly, but wasn't enough to take away from my enjoyment of the book. I would investigate more of this author's books.

The Scandalous Flirt by Olivia Drake is an amazing, well-written book. Ms Drake has furnished her story with phenomenal characters. The characters made this book a joy to read. Lucas and Rory's story is full of drama, suspense, adventure and sizzle. Be warned though, the housework may be put on hold. Once you start this book you may not want to put it down. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and look forward to reading more from Olivia Drake in the future. The Scandalous Flirt is book 6 of the Cinderella Sisterhood Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.

Usually I am wary at picking up a book that is in the middle of a series that I have not read before. I always fear that I will feel lost and not know what is going on. Luckily that was not the case with this book as I did not feel lost or that I was missing anything.
In the beginning I definitely liked Rory way more than I liked Lucas. While they both had their struggles, (Rory being banished from London after a scandal with a lover and Lucas dealing with debts) Rory seemed to have grown more and become stronger than Lucas. Lucas was just a plain jerk in the beginning and I feared that he would be like that throughout the book. Luckily the more that I read the more I began to like him.
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this book. I did enjoy that this was not dominated with steamy scenes but instead you really got to know the characters. Don't get me wrong there were some great steamy moments between Rory and Lucas.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the galley.

A different twist on Cinderella.
Aurora Paxton made an error in judgment and paid dearly for it. Her stepmother's servant caught her in a private compromising position and made sure everyone knew about it......but there were forces at work that she had no idea about. She was sent away to an aunt's home, but Aurora made the best of the situation and made sure she did all she could for her Aunt Bernice.
Clarissa Milford noticed many things and noted things were off with Aurora's stepmother...and that brought Aurora to her mind. Ms. Milford meddled to bring Aurora home to ostensibly help solve her stepmother's problem, but it really was to give her a chance to find a suitor.
The tale contains greedy callous people, troubled characters, some sweet and innocent, hard working and honest ..in short a mix of characters that add life to her version of this old tale.
I asked for and was granted an ARC to peruse.

This "romance" was about a young lady trying to find out who had stolen from her step mother. She met people along the way and possibly fell in love too. The book never stopped and there was never a dull moment, unfortunately the romance itself was very poor.
There wasn't much in terms of romance and deeper feelings. The heroine was terribly shallow and had a big mouth which I think is just a bad combo.
The hero too was as deep as a puddle... how the heroine fell in love with him is yet another mystery.
I'm glad I was able to get an early copy but I don't think I'll read more of this series. I remember enjoying this author in the past so maybe I'll try her again.

Absolutely loved this story. The heroine is strong and intelligent. Even through her downfall, she persevered. She is beyond loyal, willing to help a woman who had her exiled. The hero, a determined, stone faced man with a heart of pure gd. A man who loves his mother and brother so much he's willing to sacrifice his own happiness. The plot is one i havent read in a while and it was a great change. Matchmaker, stolen letters, blackmailers, a fall from grace, and so much definitely keeps the reader entertained and captivated. The secondary characters are a perfect mix of elegance and excitement . The villains are descriptive, unlikable and down right conniving. The is also a secondary story here as well. It's not overbearing or intrusive. It works in well with the main story line and helps bring every thing together in a neat little knot. I truly enjoyed every aspect of this story and look forward to reading many more by Ms. Drake.

I have love Olivia Drake's Cinderella Sisterhood books since the beginning. I love her writing style. The story is about Aurora Paxton, who was once the belle of the ball. Rory was banished to live in the country. Now she's been summoned to go back to London on her stepmother's orders because she is being blackmailed by Lucas Vale, Marquess of Dashell. Lucas has his reasons. I hope you will read the book and enjoy it as much as I did.

This is an engaging story of two people, Lord Lukas and Lady Aurora, or 'Rory', who met several years before as younger people but are now thrown together by a series of unexpected events. Rory has been out of society as a result of a past incident, and Lukas is attempting to keep his family's legacy afloat by marrying well. Throw in some truly entertaining characters, an intriguing plot, and plenty of heat between the Lukas and Rory, and this book was thoroughly entertaining. I highly recommend this to readers who enjoy some mystery and passion with their HEA.
