A brave and inspiring book. I have read many books on South American Shamanism but this is the first time I have read about African Shamanism. Although it was much more than that it was also a story of building bridges and taking huge leaps in the shadow of apartheid. I really enjoyed the book and now feel as though I need to educate myself in many more areas of shamanism. An inspiring and interesting story that is as much about respect. acceptance and being open to everything especially the energy that surrounds us. A highly recommended book. Many thanks.

I felt very strongly pulled to this book, by the cover, title & energetically. I can't say enough wonderful things about this book! It is truly amazing. I got goosebumps multiple times while reading John's story. It does jump around & sometimes I had a hard time following. But I could not put this book down, once I started it! One of the key things I learned, is that I had walked away from my ancestral DNA & lost touch with them. I myself have experienced many similar visions & struggled to understand the meaning. This book opened my eyes and made me want to learn more. I highly recommend this book & John's amazing journey!

What a wonderful insight into culture away from the standard so often pushed by the west. I feel I should state that I am a Christian only to inform you of my stand point as opposed to any other reason. I agree with John that the West made mistakes when people tried to push our ways on to other races and push their ways out. Its great to see how John embraced the traditions of the country. I have learnt from This book and the way that Christianity is embracing what GOD has maded available for so long like the power of dreams, laying on of hands for healing. We all have different paths in life but we are never meant to do it on our own, John found his teachers for his life and battled through pain and sickness I looking forward to his book about the next stages of his road and I'm sure you will as well.
I have been given a free copy of this book from NetGalley in return for a honest review.
