Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me. It wasn't the writing or the story or anything like that. I just didn't end up enjoying it as much as I had hoped. This is a widow story (even though she was engaged not married, but technicalities) and I'm just not a huge fan of them.

I know there are people who will like this. If you don't mind the widow storyline, then I recommend it. It just wasn't for me, unfortunately. I will read more from Jennifer Hoopes though!

This book was in my opinion a really sweet read.

I adored the characters and the plot so much.

And just breezed through this one it was such a good and easy read.

I would definitely suggest to anyone looking for a good cowboy romance to go and grab up a copy of this one. It won't disappoint.

This is a great story: one of renewal and new love. It's based in a small town which usually has its pitfalls of nosy neighbors and such but this one a really good, quality story that any reader will love.

While this story deals with some heavy subject, including loss of a loved one, survivors guilt and forgiveness, I don’t feel that it was either a dour or depressing read at all. Jennifer Hoopes did a wonderful job of bringing the reader along on Emily’s journey to learn how to live and love again.
I thought was plot was fresh and original, with a bit of a twist that this reviewer will keep to herself. Adam is patient and kind while trying to draw Emily out of the shadows she’s been existing...not living...in for 3 years. Emily’s spirit is sparked by Adam, the first person in her new home that she’s connected with.
While many small towns are inhabited by at least one nosy, intrusive gossip, Fly Creek is Home to many nosy characters, but each one is only looking out for Emily, who they instantly take under their wing as one of their own...whether Emily is aware, or wants that is irrelevant.
Great story building, fun and quirky characters and a beautiful backdrop makes Her Cowboy’s Promise a definite must read!

Her cowboy's promise is the first book in a new series. It was a good beginning and it established a lot of characters. I would like to see Levi get this own story one day.
I read this book twice and I am happy to say that I wasn't bored the second time I read it. That 's good in my book. To be honest, I didn't remember many things about the story, but everything was slowly coming back to me as I was turning the pages.

The main characters are both pleasant and I liked them. I was very happy to see them in Peyton's book (#2 in the series) and how far they have come from the people we met on the very first page of this book. The story is good and while I wasn't a big fan of the hero's secret, I could see why he never said a thing about it until the end.

My original 4-star rating will remain because once again, I feel that's the appropriate one. I wasn't blown away, but the story was one I liked and the characters were likable.

Sorry I was not able to read you book but it went to archive before I could get to it. Sorry once again.

Nice sweet romance for those looking for the sweet reads. No over the top love scenes. REAL feeling plotline and easy read.

Fantastic book with great writing and a surprise I didn't see coming! This is the first book I've read by this author but I can't wait to read more!

This is the first book i have read by this author and i can't wait to try more.I just loved this book and ended up reading it in one sitting it is well written with a great plot and fantastic characters i really liked both Emily and Adam they were such wonderful characters and you cannot help but root for these two a must read.

It would be so easy to read the cover description for Her Cowboy’s Promise and think “light hearted romance”. It is, yet it is so very much more than that. This is an emotional story for both Emily and Adam. It’s learning to deal with grief and the guilt of being the one still living in a couple separated by death. It’s learning to live and trust again, putting yourself “out there” to see what happens next. It’s not easy to start over again, but Emily is trying in this small town that rallies around her at every turn. She’s building a new life, and if the sadness and grief from her previous life still steps in, well at least she’s doing better. Soon she’ll have the chance to grab a new future, one with every promise still to be given… if she’s brave enough to take that chance once more.

Adam hadn’t intended to stay in this small town a moment longer than necessary. he had a promise to keep, and he’d do that but no more. This town brought back too many memories – and the one woman who could change his mind.

Her Cowboy’s Promise is an emotional romance. One that will hit some people hard. There is an intense focus on Emily’s grief. That will affect some readers who don’t want that deep of a reality in a romance, in my opinion. Everyone grieves in their own way and in their own time, for Emily this was her way. Eventually she comes back to the reality standing right in front of her, but it’s not an easy journey for her. There are intense moments, yet also lighthearted ones. As Emily and Adam begin to see beyond grief and the past their path to their own happiness lies open and waiting for them. The question becomes, will they reach for it.

I enjoyed this story, it’s emotional, and real. It also has me curious as to what the author would bring us next. And that I’ll be watching for.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found the book to be well written, loved the characters and the beautiful Wyoming setting. I recommend to all readers of romance.

Emily is existing. After losing her fiance in a horrible accident she moves to a town that reminds her of the one her fiance wanted to settle down in and run a ranch. Adam promised his cousin, Emily's fiance, that he would make sure she's happy. Emily steps outside of her comfort zone after she's attracted to Adam. The two are made for each other if they can let their pasts go. I love Adam. He's the cowboy girls dream of.
Though the story started a bit slow the explosive chemistry between Adam and Emily help the book move faster. If you enjoy a romance that's filled with redemption and forgiveness then I recommend checking out Her Cowboy's Promise.

This was an interesting story of a woman who has been mourning the tragic death of her fiancé Drew. Emily White was an art teacher in Pennsylvania and Drew was the P.E. teacher. They had gone out to the river on a boat to go fishing and it tipped over. Drew was pulled under never to be found.
Three years have passed, Emily has moved to Colorado and opened a gallery art studio. Yet, she is not living. She is afraid of her own shadow. Forget her being around a body of water or even mentioning it. Even if someone talks about she goes off because it has now become a trigger word, river or lake, each causing a breakdown.
Then one day a cowboy with cotton candy blue eyes, dimples, and a voice that made her feel safe. The cowboy was really new to town only six weeks. Emily may not have interacted with the community, customers, or townsfolk as a whole but she belonged to them. She did keep her ear out when they would talk about things in her shop though so she knew stuff that was happening around town. Like who Adam Conley was.
His hands made her shiver. The Friday after they met she had decided that Adam had awoken the sexy she devil inside her and she needed and wanted to feed her. So, she set out to seduce him. That night for the first time ever she showed up at the saloon. When she sees him, she finishes her liquid courage and then buys them both another drink and takes it to him.
They dance a song and his hands on her hips are the sexiest thing ever to her. When it was over she asks if he wants to leave with her. He says, “Yes!” All she wanted was one night. No more. Adam had other plans.
You see Adam had shown up in town in order to deliver a promise he made to Drew his cousin. But what he has to tell Emily can either destroy her or make her stronger. Especially, when he realizes her asking him out is a big thing. See how this wicked web gets more cross webbed as it goes on.

Even though I did enjoy this book, if I'm honest it did have its moments where it felt like it was dragging and I really have to push myself to read or get through some point of the book. Even with that said, I really did like the book the characters where book, the story line was interesting and when it came down to the story in general it was a pretty good book. Maybe it's me, maybe I just wasn't in the mood to read it. The book does have its generic story line that I usually find appealing there just wasn't enough in this book to really be different and stand out with its own set of drama. Overall I'd rate this book 3 of 5 stars.

Her Cowboy’s Promise is a very impressive debut from new author Jennifer Hoopes. This story is heartbreaking at times, so be sure to have tissue handy. But it’s also about healing and moving forward. Surprisingly for me, I didn’t hate the small town, nosey citizens. They actually added to my love of the story. In fact, all the characters are great, from Piper who wants to be Emily’s friend, but is like a steamroller when given the chance; to Shelby, owner of Sky Lake Ranch who’s like a mother hen and grizzly bear rolled in one. Adding to this amazing cast of characters are Levi, Adam’s older brother, Dan, Adam’s friend and another ranch hand and Polly Brooks, Piper’s grandmother.

Her Cowboy’s Promise is a definite bookshelf keeper. Jennifer Hoopes has earned her place on my auto-buy author list and I can’t wait to return to Fly Creek.
