Part of the Impending Love Series a well written story with a very good storyline, I was not putting this book down until I had finished reading it. This story deals with the American Civil war which in itself was interesting. I enjoyed reading Colleen/Cole Beecher and hotel owner Blake Ellsworth's story there is suspense, drama, danger, villains, friends death, the happenings of war, and romance. I want to read more by this Author.

This is the first book in the series and the first one I have read by Laura,This was a great historical romance set in the civil war it is really well written and very believable Colleen and Blake meet when she helps him after he is hurt she looks after him until he is well and they fall in love but he does not want to marry as he is going to enlist a great read and super start to the series I am looking forward to the next book.

"Cole " Colleen meets Blake after he is injured by mercenaries and she nurses him back to health. In the midst of the Civil War , he is hesitant to commit to marriage as he is going to enlist with the north. Good romance setting and story line set in the midst of war and survival. This is the first book I've read by this author and will be looking up with rest of the series.
