This book was better than the questionable reviews merited. While there wasn’t a whole lot of depth to the characters, they were likable enough (or not) as they should have been for the plot and it worked for this book. The plot was certainly the focus. While you had to keep parts straight, it was like a puzzle coming together. There were a few small twists, but you could sort of see them coming.

I think this would make a fun movie, like Clue. The ending left an opening for Crystal to have another book and I’d read that too.

The bulrb for this book sucked me in, and the story started good enough, but unfortunately just fell flat shortly after that. Full of characters you can’t connect with, nor bring yourself to care about, plot lines that don’t make sense. I struggled to finish The Inheritance Murders, and the best thing about it, was when it finally ended.

A full plot with detailed characters and a shrouded mystery... it started out well for me, but then did not hold my interest.

This line of the blurb is what grabbed my attention: “In this tale of sex, murder and ghosts, sometimes the hired help is a bit more than average, and sometimes bodies just won’t stay dead.”

I wanted to know more. I needed to know. Sometimes curiosity kills the cat. While this story had a lot of potential, it kept driving me to distraction. Every time I thought I was understanding what was going on, I was thrown for a loop. I enjoyed the fact that I didn’t have a clue to the deceptions that bled through this story, but some things didn’t make complete sense. I couldn’t find a trickle of fondness for any of the characters involved because although the author was descriptive, I didn’t feel like I got to know any of them. What little I did learn, I didn’t really like. However, I liked the way the author explored the paranormal mystery that shrouded the plot. It was intense and suspenseful and gave such an eerie sensation to this story.

So if you like a bit of sex mixed in with some mystery and ghosts, this book may just be what you’re looking for!

I found that the characters lacked depth which made it difficult to relate to the plot.

An interesting storyline with something that mystery lovers and ghost aficionados alike will love. Not overpoweringly supernatural, just enough to add a sprinkling of chills. Crystal will face the challenge of her young professional life and may be forced to accept her inherited powers. The question is, can she handle it and survive long enough to figure out who's behind all the evil at the house?

The Inheritance Murders is one of the strangest, least cohesive books I've ever read. It's a strange combination of hokey paranormal, wannabe erotica, mystery and suspense all rolled into one unappealing story.

Crystal (Crystalline) is hired to help out one of her boss' clients for the weekend, acting as a PA as his uncle lays dying. She's expecting purely clerical/administrative work, but when she arrives, she finds that's not to be the case. Instead, what she ends up doing is being attracted to her boss for the weekend's brother, seeing ghosts, denying she can see ghosts, getting caught up in a new murder, a decades old murder, a little bit of trying to be BDSM, and dealing with generally unlikable people.

I ended up wondering what the heck I had just read. It wasn't erotica, no matter what it claims to be. It wasn't much of a paranormal thriller. It's not strictly a mystery. It's not very well-developed. The sex scenes had weird, cheesy dialogue and wording. The whole BDSM thing was just wrong, not even really BDSM. The Inheritance Murders is just one big mess of a book. There's nothing appealing about it and I'm upset I wasted an hour of my life reading it.

A difficult read to get into. While I enjoy a good plot/mystery with erotica, I felt I had trouble staying focused on this novel. It was easy for me to put it down and step away and not be hounded by the usual “what happens next?” As whole, it was an enjoyable read even if it was a bit hard to follow. The characters were interesting to say the least and the erotic scenes were decent. Following a pretty graphic erotic novel, the scenes in this story seemed tame. I think I was just hoping for something…more raunchy?

This story catches you right out of the gate, but it gets a little confusing somewhere in the middle. It wasn’t a deal breaker, However, if you stick it out you find a story that is still really good! I think I was just expecting a little more.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
Murder, mystery and a touch of erotic all rolled into one. Crystal is a junior PA and finds herself covering for her boss. She believes that she is going to be helping Henry, one of her bosses clients, with some paperwork for the weekend. Henry actually has something else in mind. Andrew, Henry's brother, has designs on Crystal and the feeling is mutual. but what will the tarot cards show. I loved the character Crystal and really felt like i connected with her,

An okay mystery, although the paranormal events are just a little too convenient. The erotica is in discrete sections, doesn't intersect with the mystery except that the participants are also involved in the mystery, can be easily skipped over if a reader has no interest in it.

Crystal is a young PA who is employed by Henry the eldest son of the family to attend a weekend at his ancestral home where his family are gathering to say good bye to their elderly uncle who is dying.
But not is all that it seems.
Quirky story but the erotic elements of the story were irrelevant.

This book was good. I love anything with a paranormal theme. I felt this story was too jittery and did not flow as well as it should have.
Otherwise I enjoyed the story

Never would I have imagined this book to be this way. From a pa to a lover to a murder mystery. Definitely did not see the story turning out as it did.

This book is a mish mash of short stories and found it quite dis-jointed to read. I found I was wanting certain chapters to continue but that it would end quite abruptly. This is not a type of writing that I enjoyed

This is the first time I will give a book lower than 3 stars. And the main reason is that it is mislabeled, the second reason, even as a mystery /paranormal, it does not fit in those category either. There are just too many threads in this book and many of them are loose too. It's hard to follow.

As respect to the publisher and author, I am just posting this review here at Netgalley, I will not post it anywhere,

Reading this for a while and finally finished, I wasn't going to leave a review but I feel people should be warned. This is a no for so many reasons plot, characters, relationships, everything. The cover is misleading this is not a romance or erotic if that's what you're looking for. This is on my WTF did I just read shelf and not for a good reason.

Not what I expected and the ending was a bit WTF. I found myself skimming, which I never do. It was all a little confused.
