I struggled with this to begin with but ended up quite enjoying it. The Scrapbook Quests is a set of stories all surrounding two children looking for adventures and treasure. With the help of their grandmother and her scrapbook they embark on the unknown, A good read for KS2 & 3..

I loved the collection. Although some places fell flat, imo, but then again I'm really not that young anymore to like all these. Surely kids and teens will love it. I always like the touch of the supernatural in adventure stories. I will recommend it.

Fun story! had a neat back story about the author basing it on his on family. I think kids 3-5th grade should enjoy reading this story. Some of the tales seemed derivative, but then I've been around quite a while(!), kids won't recognize them, and will likely enjoy the adventures Valerie and Alex have. These stories take place in Canada, but I think that makes the tales even more intriguing. Good story!

I enjoyed reading and trying to solve the three mysteries in this book! Valerie and her brother Adam enjoy hearing Grandma Nanas old stories and seeing the newspaper clippings that tell about these stories. You, too will enjoy reading and trying to solve mysteries about a healing turtle that has been hidden for many years, and people will kill to have it, a long buried British treasure that has been missing for over 200 years, and a treasure that is hidden by a scary railroad worker!

I honestly had a really really hard time getting through this book. I had to force myself to keep reading which did not really work. Sorry did not enjoy this book at all.

DNF'd at about 20% in. I had to really force it which is never a good sign. The writing was terrible. I honestly believe someone IN middle school could write better. The characters were so bland that if the author didn't mention their names every 2 seconds I wouldn't have known who was who. I also couldn't tell the difference between the adults and the kids. They all acted and talked the same. The female MC was supposed to be old enough to be in highschool, but she acted much younger. The story plot was predictable and boring. And aside from the interesting folklore parts I found absolutely nothing about the small part I read enjoyable.

Although I liken the adventure and regional lore and culture motifs, I felt it wasn't sticking overall...I did like the submarine voyage bopping around in homemade craft looking for treasure segment.
