DNF @ 33% - Writing and plot are super immature, characters two dimensional and underdeveloped. Nothing likeable about it.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately I have been unable to get into it. DNF @ 11%.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I read this book in one sitting because I could not put the book down, I highly recommend reading this book!

Not bad. Very fast paced but I wasn't invested in the characters so I struggled a bit there. But you could probably get through it in one or two sittings so it makes for a good fantasy adventure to lose yourself in.

This one I did not finish, after reading to the halfway point I realized I still wasn’t into the story. Thanks for a copy to review.

Thanks to netgalley and author/publishers for a e-arc of Rellainia.

3.7/5

I loved the fantasy world author created, a fast paced novel that keeps you hanging on till you end it. I loved the thrills of what gonna happen next, that I completed this novel fairly fast than other ereads.
The Cover looks amazing, and the by seeing it I felt the story will be women-centric and women will be shown strong. They were in a way, but not like that I wanted to see them until later part in the novel.

Kelsey’s has always heard her mother telling her stories about Rellainia and its Queen M., a place that she thought only lived in stories. Until one time, when she couldn't find her mother and while looking for her enters into the land of Rellainia.
And the stories follows how she at first is taken back to find her mother the Queen of this land, and the double life her mother was living. The cruel king sees and doesn't agree of a "outside" Kelsey to be in Rellainia. And there comes the character of Liam.

The story has very little of romance, and I completely loved that part showing little instances that you care or love someone instead of hard core love scene or falling over heels over someone.

The END had me thinking, may be this is not the end. !! And I so wish, that author decides and gives this one a part 2. I would love to go to Rellainia once again and find if Kelsey is the kind of queen Rellainia always wanted.

I am so delayed in posting this review, and I am so sorry for this.
Definitely recommended.

Thank you to netgalley and Sands Publishing for letting me read this book .This is a very engaging, beautifully written fantasy novel about a princess unaware. The ending leaves room for a second novel and I'm hoping the author with continue Kelsey and Rellainia's story!

If you love fantasy in the vein of Narnia, Harry Potter, & The Princess Bride then you will enjoy this novel.

This is a very fast-paced novel, so if you are the type of reader who wants to devour a book in a single sitting, this is the book for you. It's very light on character development, but takes the reader on quite a fun fantasy adventure. There is a romance, but I wouldn't expect too much from it.

This may not be for everyone as the story is so fast paced, not leaving a lot of time for character development or a strong storyline.
But I have to say this is a easy read and a good Teen Fantasy with a twist.
Sorry if this feels contradictory but this is my honest opinion.

I DNFed this book halfway through. The writing was not good, incorrect use of words was seen often as well as many other errors such as the lack of character development due to how fast-paced the book is.

I like that his book was faced pace and had a good kick to it.
However, I wish there would have been better character development.
and although I liked parts of it and the plot was different and not like all other books out there.
I was slightly disappointed and wish it would have been amazing.
like one of those books you come across and just go “wow”

A book that young adults and adults alike can enjoy. Imagine finding out you're actually a princess in a dimension paralleling the one you've lived in all your life. Would you ever want to go back to your old life? Or would you rather take up your royal duties? A book you won't want to put down!

I just couldn't get into it. The story was okay but not what I had in mind at the time. I may read again later and try once more.

The book wasn't for me. It read like a confused version of the Jay Kristoff Nevernight Chronicles. In the beginning, we are presented with characters that are weak and unlikable. By the end, we are meant to believe that the same characters are strong and ready to rule a world. It's unbelievable.

The romance also didn't work well. Why would Liam like a 20-year old that acts like a three-year-old constantly questioning everything in an annoying way?

There are some good points. The pace is great, for example.

For me, the start of the story should be when Kelsey becomes more of a woman and less whiny.

It's a shame. The cover is great, the blurb enticing, but the female characters are weak which ruined it for me. I wonder whether an editor could chop up the beginning, extend Kelsey's learning her powers in the middle and make the ending less rushed. It would be an empowering read then.

I really wanted to like this book. I really did. I love fantasy and have students that love magic and romance. However, the poor writing got in the way of truly enjoying this story to the point that I could not finish it. The story was rushed, the characters were cliche, and it felt very forced. I feel with the right editing, this could have been a winner.

I really enjoyed this story and I would definitely reccomend it to others in search of a good fantasy novel! I loved the relationship between the princess and Liam and I'm excited to find out what happens next! I'm really hoping that there will be a sequel because of how it ended! I do wish that the book would have been a little bit longer and would have spent a little more time on the world building. But all in all I loved the book and I am excitedly anticipating a sequel!....

The concept of this book is a decent portal fantasy. Unfortunately the author needs to work on her craft a bit more before continuing this world or creating another. The plot seems rushed and the characters don't have much dimension to them. Much of this could be addressed in the way the story is told; there's a lot of telling rather than showing. On the other hand, the sentence construction is solid and any word errors seem to be minor.

This is a very engaging, beautifully written fantasy novel about a princess unaware.
Kelsey is a teen who grew up on her mother's stories about the magical world Rellania. When she accidentally enters a portal to Rellania in a basement she is amazed it is a real place- not just a story- and her adventure begins. Her mother may have been wrong about a few things...
Kelsey is confused at first (and rightfully so) but grows into a strong, capable and brace young woman who is determined to do what is right in a world of magic and manipulation.

The ending leaves room for a second novel and I'm hoping the author with continue Kelsey and Rellainia's story!

If you love fantasy in the vein of Narnia, Harry Potter, & The Princess Bride then you will enjoy this novel.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for letting me read the book in exchange for a fair and honest review!

Mini review:

DNF

I received this E-ARC via the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. A friend of mine just finished this. It looked good so I requested it. Unfortunately it wasn't for me.

While the plot was somewhat engaging the many point of views switch was odd. Also it was so fast paced you didn't even get to really know any of the characters.

Still recommend.

I was instantly drawn to Rellania - a mysterious kingdom linked to the real world by magical portals, how could I not be? But, after a rushed introduction to the magic system and even more chaotic character building, my interest quickly waned. As much as I wanted to like Kelsey, her tendency to question everyone and everything was more annoying than sassy, as was her insta-love with Liam. Still, I'm interested to see where the story goes...
