It was fun to know all about castles. A grammatical error ruined it for me but as advanced reader copies are not edited, it is possible to have errors, but it being a quick small book, it would have been a better reading experience.

Excellent! I learned a lot as well as my children. They loved it and have looked at it and read it several times. I highly recommend!

This turned out to be a really good picture book for early readers.
The photos showing the castle, drawbridge, flag, etc. are of excellent quality.

The sentences are short and repetitive, ( eg.: To get to the castle, we have to cross the moat. To get to the castle, we have to cross the drawbridge.) which is very suitable for the young wee “knight”, starting to read.
The difficulty level works mostly, except of two words: drawbridge and dungeon are already a bit more advanced.

The book proved also to be perfect to entice my son to go for an outing and explore a real live castle, which was in our case Edinburgh Castle close to our home.

What was missing though, I couldn’t see a word list or questions at the end of the book as described in the synopsis. Maybe this is just the case for the early reading copy which I received and I hope they will be included in the final book.
As it stands I give the book 3 stars without glossary and questions. It would be 4 stars if they were included.
(A copy was provided to read and review.)

An intriguingly different take of a tour through a castle. Starts with what needs to be done to get into the building, like crossing the moat and finding the doors, and once inside there are other things to find, like the dungeon and the crown.
Kids this age might not know all those words, but most of the pages are taken up by big photos that perfectly show what they mean.
It’s incredibly simplistic, but that’s the beauty of it, especially for the age group intended.
And in case a reader was wondering where this castle is located, that’s a Croatian flag up top in one of the shots.

Sadly to say my boys were not very impressed by this book. Not enough text even for my five year old, just a few meagre pictures, we've got got tons of better books about castles at home. Sorry.

The pictures were O.K., but not much there for kids. No story at all and do real history. Just a picture book.

I like the repetitive line for the emergent reader. Great topic that they would be interested in...especially the little bit older struggling reader.

This book has some nice images but it didn't really come over very well. Its basically a tour though a castle and what you could see. I have visited a lot of castles and you don't see most of what is pictured. Ok if you are just expecting a very basic picture book.

It was ok. A very young child might enjoy a walk through this book and a look at a few things found in a castle. Not very interesting in my opinion.

This is a short book that introduces vocabulary around the topic of Castles. The pictures make it easy to follow the descriptions and learn new vocabulary.

Beautiful pictures. An ok narrative to go thorough the castle with a child. Order of pictures is very weird. If I would have to pick, I would say that dungeons shouldn't come first inside of the castle, but what do I know. Suggested for children around 7 or similar reading level.
