This was a nice idea and if it really happened to the author as she describes moments throughout this book i am very happy for her, but i felt this book was a bit too over enthusiastic and overly positive to be any real help. Might be my negative mind set through.

This was an amazing read. This taught me that God is always there for me no matter what struggles and failures I have. He is always there to pick me up. I think I needed this book because it taught me how to be confident in who I am with God in my life. As always, I am not perfect and I have been hurt, but knowing that God never lets me go truly makes me feel happy. I agree with Julie K. Gillies statement of "His love changes everything" because it means that we are protected in our lives. I hope to read more Julie Gillies books in the future. Overall, an incredible read.

You know how you can sit down with your best friend and discuss how much of a 'mess' you are and she says 'me, too'! That's how this book felt to me. Julie Gillies has a way with her writing that makes it seem like you're having a conversation with your friend instead of being 'preached' at. I like that a lot. I like to read a book where I can identify with the author and relate to them instead of feeling admonished for a mess-up. She shows that God loves you even when you feel unlovable, when you're a 'hot mess'.

I will be reading this book again!

From Hot Mess to Blessed it a much needed book in this time of our lives. Learning how to see past our mistakes and circumstances with maybe a new look on our identity with Christ. Her own shattered life experiences can help us learn to grow from our own messes, whether handed to us or self made. This is good to be used as a uplifting read in the time or stress or maybe a daily devotional to work through. I liked this book and the encouragement received from this book is just the right amount to help through those difficult times.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a sneak peak at this book in return for an honest review

I loved From Hot Mess to Blessed! It was a wonderful and encouraging read. In her book, Julie shares many inspirational stories from her live and her walk with Christ. In a compelling style, she inspires the reader to trust in God and how to take difficult circumstances with contentment and the desire to grow and learn from them. At the end of each chapter there is a personal proclamation meant to strengthen and encourage the reader.

I would recommend the book to everyone who's looking for inspiration and encouragment. If you're wondering how you can feel less of a mess and more like a peaceful and content woman, this book is for you!

My star rating system:
1 star – Awful! I couldn’t even read it.
2 stars – I only read part of it, couldn’t finish it.
3 stars – I read it all, and it was okay – not one of my favorites.
4 stars – I read it all and loved it!
5 stars – I read it all, loved it, and I would read it again!

I would say that I would actually give this book about a 3.5 rating - it was somewhere between "not a favorite" and "loved it!". Author Julie Gillies gives a very candid look into her own childhood and marital "messes" to show the reader how God changed all of that into something good. My favorite part of this book was her real life stories and the power of God to change a situation from bad to good. In each chapter, Ms. Gillies gives us a little personal background, a Biblical story, and scripture. I used this book as a devotional book and was very pleased. I have already shared several quotes from this book that have been a blessing to others as well.

From Hot Mess to Blessed

Hope to Propel Your Soul and the Promises That Change Everything

I am reviewing a copy of Hot Mess to Blessed through Harvest House Publishers and Netgalley:

In this book we are reminded that A Promise From the Lord is an invitation to enter into an agreement to our Creator. We are reminded too that He deems us worthy of his investment. We are reminded too that Jesus knows when we do either good or bad, but he does not judge us, but stands with us! Most importantly we are reminded that we are not judged by the bad things we have judged or the hurtful things we have endured that We Are His. The author points out that not only does God pull us out of the pit but he pulls the pit out of us.

This book reminds us too that we could never be good enough, but Jesus is. We are reminded the importance of having the guts to believe in God's word and act on it with boldness!

The author reminds us too that he beams over at us as he watches over us because he loves us!

I give From Hot Mess to Blessed five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!
