I won't be able to leave a review for this book; I requested it in a past lifetime of my NetGalley use and it no longer fits with my reading interests. If I ever do end up reading it, I'll come back and update this!

I want to apologize for not being able to review this book for you when I received it. I got very sick about 9 years ago and have been in and out of the hospital film then up until last year. I had to have 12 surgeries on my spine, with the last 3 taking place between January and March of last year. I'm finally feeling like year might be behind me, and I'm trying to apologize to everyone for being absent for so long. So here it is: I'm dreadfully sorry. You placed your faith in me and I let you down. I only hope you had enough people actually review what sounded like a good book to me.

Thanks for providing a review copy, I was not able to read this one. So I will not be leaving a review on social media at this time.

Since this was a galley, I forgave the minor grammatical and spelling errors, although I sincerely hope that the word "inexplicitly" was erroneously used instead of "inexplicably".

This is an interesting take on the story of light against dark. The good power at times is, literally, light, and there is the same opposite for the bad power.I feel at times that Llona, the main female character, gives up to easily on trying to learn the meaning behind the cryptic phrases or slips of the tongue experienced by Christian, the main male character. Llona learns more about her power throughout the book, and makes some life decisions that differ greatly from those generally accepted by her kind of people that have the potential to change their future, and their chances of survival against their archenemies.

The story has a good dose of suspense, intermingled with your basic high school issues, and there is sure to be a sequel.

I really enjoyed this story! Rachel McClellan's Fractured Light is a fun YA read that keeps you rooting for the heroine and eager to see her develop her power. Llona is an Aura who can control light and desires to use her power to fight against the Vyken. Auran culture doesn't allow for Aura to use their light to help others and instead they stay hidden from the world so as not to attract attention. However, Llona's past is riddled with death and a stalker who's playing sick games. Llona isn't a normal Aura but the lengths will she have to go to control her power and protect her friends is fun and interesting to read about.

Fractured Light captures the high school experience and teen attitude in a way that makes this story perfect for all ages. It's clean and engaging, with a little romance to spice it up!
