My favorite so far out of this series! Ella is a lovable, relatable heroine and Carson is positively delicious. A light-hearted, flirty read that will melt your heart!

Shayla Black is one of my favorites, and this is the best of the Misadventures series so far. Carson is such a good guy. He's not the type who sleeps around or doesn't want to settle down. He's just busy saving his newly acquired company. And he doesn't want to marry the wrong girl, which is exactly what he has to do to keep a rival company from taking over his.
That's where Ella comes in. The girl he met months ago who left an impact. They agree to pretend like they fell in love to convince Carson's rival that he can't marry his daughter. But the second Carson and Ella reconnect, the sparks fly. And these two are hot together. The chemistry between them is incredible. I felt like I was falling in love with them. Not only do we get hot sex, but a gripping story, too. I loved these two characters and I'm looking forward to more from the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this whole series. The romance and stories were believable (backup bride and city girl more so than good wife). They kept my attention and I didn't want to put them down.

Guy falls for a girl he doesn't really know, but can't do anything about it. Being forced to marry a business partners daughter he finds himself trying to et out of it without ruining his business.

This book is good, love the characters and the story line is really sweet. I love their first date at the restaurant where they both realize they are super hot for each other and verbally go back and forth with subliminal sexual references and then she cant keep her hands or shall we say feel off of him. What an exciting dinner then they dont even eat there and get the whole thing to go in a matter of seconds it seems like. Loved the whole scene! The way everything ended up was pretty unreal too, it was all good and how he made her feel so special, how could a reader no swoon and fall a little more for Carson. Shaw was a jerk but I guess every book needs to have one of them, good thing his daughter was smarter then we were originally lead to believe.

Going between three and four stars for this.

Carson is looking for a way to get out of an engagement. The guy who is going to invest money in Carson's confectionary factory wants him to marry his daughter. The girl was a sorority girl straight from Legally Blonde, she didn't want anything to do with it but never voiced her opinion. Carson tells the father he's in love with someone else. He only met this woman at a birthday party. Ella is an actress who is doing odd jobs plus waitressing. She decides to help Carson out for money, but tells him no sex will be involved. The first day they meet, they are having sex. I stuck with this, but it was rather difficult. Too much sex and not enough storyline, seems this is the MO for this series.

Omg i loved this book, When you first start this book it grabs you, because you feel sorry for Carson, because he's forced to do something that he doesn't wasn't to, because it seems like the only thing to do. But then he comes up with another solution and it works out so well that he ends up with both a wife , a business and the knowledge as to why he was forced into that situation in the beginning. I like you are going to really love this book. Shayla doesn't disappoint in this book, it's just more of her awesomeness of her writing.

This author has long been a favourite of mine, and her contribution to this marvellous new series is original, fun and has moments of laugh out loud you just can’t ignore. Carson and Ella are extremely entertaining and the overall storyline is captivating and addictive.

To say that I’ve become an instant fan of this new off the cuff romance series, is not really giving the series it’s full credit. If you’re looking for something that’s got it all, then definitely add the Misadventures to your read list!

Funny, sexy, romantic and a great story! Shayla Black always delivers the romantic goods along with hot sexy times and she does not disappoint with this one!

Carson Frost isn't overjoyed with having to marry his competitor's daughter but that's the terms of a loan Carson feels he has to accept from the man when no other viable loan options are available. In steps Ella Hope who he's hired to play his fake love interest...but is it fake? Ella may not be putting on an act - their intimacy doesn't feel fake...

Great premise with an interesting twist. There is more to this story than just the idea of Carson hiring someone to stand in as a fake love interest to avoid marrying his competitor's daughter. We really get to know Carson and Ella - yes they have fantastic chemistry but they also want to learn more about each other and what each other wants in life. We also get to see how each treats others around them which further endears them to the reader (avoiding a spoiler here!). But when the time comes, does Ella's old hurts keep her from taking that final step with Carson?

A wonderfully romantic story - do not miss this!

Loved this book!! I got sucked in to the book right away, and devoured it. I'm a sucker for this kind of story line. Who doesn't love a wedding. This was a good quick fun read for me. Totally enjoyed reading it.

I recommend​ this book to anyone who loves sweet romantic stories like this.

This is my third book to read in the Misadventures series and while it had a premise used many times, it was a fun and definitely steamy story.

Once Carson’s father passes away, he moves to take over his father’s candy company. While dealing with financial issues, help is offered but he must marry the man’s daughter. Neither Carson or Kendra are interested in each other but they go along with the plan for the time being.

Carson decides to state that he’s in love with someone else to try to get out of the agreement and of course, Mr. Shaw wants to see this person to make sure it’s not a game. Ella is an actress in need of work and money. She’s hesitant to take a job to act as a finance’ and then jilt him at the altar. They met briefly previously but she was on a date with his friend so Carson didn’t pursue her. She was the first person to come to mind and now he has to convince her to play the part.

Both characters are almost instantly smitten with each other but they both hold back, knowing that this relationship has an end date and that they live on opposite coasts. The more they were together, the sweeter the story and eventually some very steamy scenes. You could just feel their growing feelings for each other and yet understand their hesitancy.

If you like insta-love stories and a HEA, this is the story for you!

I think the misadventures books are going to be one of the best series out this year. Lots and lots to love about this book and I think the same is going to be about all of them. I'm made up that I tried this book and can't wait for more from them. This has such a fantastic story that you feel you are apart of with the characters, draws you right into the book. Chemistry between the characters is hot and you can't help rooting for them as a couple and to get there HEA would recommend to everyone

Carson and Kendra are engaged to be married due to pressure from her father. Carson attempts to get out of situation claiming he’s in love with another woman, and manages to get an actress to whom he’s attracted to play the part of his love interest. Another awesome book in this Misadventures Series! This was a fun battle of the chocolatiers, lol. Ella and Carson sizzled with chemistry from first glance! Can't wait read more from this series!

I came across this book on Netgalley and it sounded interesting. I did not realize that it was a part of a series till after I read it. This book can be read as a standalone. This a first book from Shayla Black that I have read and I am definitely curious to read the ones in the beginning of this series, even though they are not all written by the same authors.

This book is about a man named Carson, who is in a forced engagement. He is desperate to get out of this arrangement so he creates a romance with someone he only met once. He then proposes an arrangement with Ella, a struggling actress in need of a payday, to prove that he is in love. As the plan back fires they are put under huge amounts of stress and it strains the new and growing feelings he has. Will he be able to convince Ella he is for real?

This story is sweet. The chemistry between Ella and Carson is electric from the very first sight. Shayla Black tells a wonderful story with a lot of hot steamy scenes that will have you biting you lips and begging for more. The story is not rushed and it plays out with a big twist in the end that will shock you and have you saying “WTF!” If you like a book that will have you captivated and begging for more than you will enjoy this book. I am excited to read more from this author. I am becoming a fast fan.

I will look into the other books, as I am curious if they are connected in any way, since they are wrote by different authors. I will post and let you know what I come up with.

Now Carson needs to save his candy company and doesn't want to marry the daughter of his financier. To avoid that catastrophe, Carson hires Ella to play the woman who stole his heart. With their level of spontaneous combustibility, the only certain thing is the plan won't go according to plan.
