We love all the aliens in this book! It is like a first science fiction adventure for young readers; I think that my younger students would definitely enjoy this book!

I thought this book was so colorful and interesting. The illustrations really captured my attention. I especially liked all the aliens and the pop culture references throughout. (Did you catch them all?) I find that kids always seem to enjoy books about space especially if there are aliens and space rockets involved. Overall, I think most kids will enjoy this book and get them interested in space and using their imagination.

I received an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was an enjoyable read overall. Vibrant illustrations complement a simple story about a boy named Luis who longs to go to Outer Space. He tells us about all the places he want to go and things he wants to see as he waits by the window for a space ship to come and pick him up. Unfortunately his ride doesn't arrive before bedtime but I get the impression that Luis will be waiting again tomorrow. My only qualm with the book is that a few of the images of the aliens may be a bit too scary for more sensitive young readers.

Simple, perfect. A little boy wants to go to space. He wants to meet new aliens, try new food, and even build a robot. A simple story for any age bedtime.

I liked this story, it was short and sweet.
I liked that some of the images used in the story of the spaceships and aliens seemed familiar too!
Good read overall - 3 stars

Fun! Engaging Latino main character and so many sci-fi references in the pictures to amuse the adult reader.

I love the aliens from my childhood that look scary at first but then are shown in a playful manner!

I loved the shout outs / references to other aliens and ships in this book. For any kid (or adult) that knows their sci-fi, this is a book for them! Trying to identify all the characters and references was fun. I'd love to see a little picture index in the back, telling who they all were and what movies / shows they were from!

Going to Outer Space didn't have as much to do with outer space as it did with aliens of all kinds. I think the book had an opportunity for some really unique outer space adventures but the story left me feeling ehhh. I would suggest a title change.

This was an awesome book! I loved it from front to back and so did my three year old. My favorite part was turning the pages and seeing all the spaceships that I knew from my child hood. Battle Star Galactica, Star Trek, Star Wars. Then you turn the page again and see so many different kinds of robots. My husband and I were looking through them trying to name as many as we could. We loved this book and so will you.

This is a great title that should spark the imagination of young readers. It's full of bright, detailed, fun illustrations showing Luis's desire to travel to outer space to meet aliens, eat different food and play new games. When it's bedtime, Luis settles down hoping that the spaceship doesn't forget to come.

A very simple story about Luis who dreams about going to outer space. The illustrations are bright and fun, and the text stands out well against the imagery. Although this is a fantastical story (involving meeting aliens), it becomes apparent at the end that Luis has been using his imagination, and now has to go to bed. My only concern is the last image of Luis in bed, with aliens standing at the window - that may not be problematic for some, but for others this might exacerbate the childhood fear or monsters under the bed, and equivalents! On the whole though, it's a fun story and a nice quick read before bed. Plenty to see and point out in the pictures for young eyes.
