Deceit, devastation, death and romance of course! What a fabulous start to the Redemption Harbor by Katie Reus. The storyline was well written and character interaction was amazing. I can’t wait to read more of this series and by this terrific author.

I love this new series by Katie Reus. It has it all, murder, kidnapping, espionage, Mexican cartel. There was so much action and adventure in this book. Colt is a CIA spy and very alpha. Skye is such a great character. She's socially awkward, smart and badass in every way. Book 1 was an exciting story and I can't wait for book 2.

So this book actually began with two resurrections and boy was it fantastic. Lots of action, adventure, love, lust and red hot sex. Katie Reus is one of my favorite writers when I'm looking for that combination of good stuff and feels.

Romantic suspense is my book crack, and I loved Katie's 'Deadly Ops' series, so when I saw 'Resurrection' was available on Netgalley I had to request it...and miracle of miracles for a new blogger, I got approved!  Of course, then being able to find the time to read it was another matter entirely...there are times I hate having to adult and show up for work, sigh.  But I finally had the chance, and devoured the the book!  Katie did not let down in this first book of the Redemption Harbor series.  

Colt Stuart has been grieving the loss of his CIA partner and lover Skye Arévalo for 6 months, and the recent loss of a childhood friend.  He receives a tip that Mary Grace is being held by a drug kingpin's family and Mexico so he mounts a solitary rescue mission to find her and retrieve her.  At the same time, Skye also receives a tip and sets up her own rescue.  Skye had faked her own death to protect Colt and his close-knit group of friends, and she can't let him lose Mary Grace too.

Skye is a badass, and pulls off the rescue successfully on her own-who needs a man when you have a LOT of explosives?  In the process though, the women are found by Colt who is dumbfounded to find the rescuer is his lost love.  And of course, fireworks commence!  

And that's just the beginning!  The rest of the novel takes us along for the ride as Colt and Skye must overcome the danger that has kept them apart and threatens their lives and those of their friends and family.  'Resurrection' is full of action and suspense and yes, the perfect side dish of smexy!  

I can't wait for the next book in the series, and would definitely recommend it to others who share the same book addiction with me!!

Great start to a new series !!! Colt and Skye were a perfect match and the secondary characters will make for several great books. Katie Reus has done it again ! She is still one of my automatic pre-order authors !

Skye is a CIA agent and had to fake her own death to protect her partner and lover, Colt and his friends. Colt has taken off to Mexico to see if one of his best friends is being held hostage by a drug cartel. For three months she was presumed dead but Colt got a tip and went to check it out. But when he arrives she's already been rescued. When he tracks them down he is shocked to find Skye.

Now they are trying to find the man responsible for blackmailing Skye and make sure he is taken down. Plenty of action, sex, and second chances. I loved this story and can't wait for the next book. I know it's short review but I didn't want to give anything away

What’s it About? Colt and Skye used to be partners on and off the clock until one day Skye “died” and left Colt devastated. A few months later they literally come face-to-face as Skye is rescuing a friend of Colt’s. Completely caught off guard, Colt quickly turns angry and starts to relive the pain and suffering he went through when he thought she was dead. There’s no time for him to demand an explanation though because Skye’s made some powerful enemies that want her dead and will use her feelings for Colt to hurt her. Unfortunately for Skye, Colt isn’t going to let her go that easily. He wants answers, he wants her back, and he wants to help her get rid of her enemies but the reason Skye left him was to protect him from someone very powerful and Skye’s not willing to risk Colt getting killed even if it means she has to leave him again.




Overall reaction to the story? Resurrection goes from 0 to 90 real quick and that’s just fine with me! The fast paced, high level action opening gives way to one heck of a second chance romantic suspense! Katie Reus has been a favorite of mine for awhile because I know I’ll get a strong female character and a respectful alpha male as well as an unforgettable story. I can't wait to see what else she has planned for this series!



Describe the hero in five words: Caring. Loyal. Tough. Stubborn. Intelligent.

Did you like him? Yes.

Why? Colt is a BAMF (Bad Ass Mother Fucker, gotta remember to censor that when cross posting this review lol). He doesn’t bother taking names he just puts down the bad guys yet he’s also the most loyal and caring friend anyone can have and that comes through within the first chapter which I loved because you get a clear idea of who Colt really is. I loved how he could be this deadly guy one minute and then gently cradle a dear friend he thought was dead. At the same time he could be bossy and stubborn as a mule but that just made him more likable to me even when I wanted to kick him in the chins. Colt may be a bit rough around the edges but he’s a character worth fighting for. I totally saw why Skye fell hard for him and why when she met up with him again, she just couldn’t resist him.


Describe the heroine in five words: Stubborn. Smart. Loyal. Caring. Strong.

Did you like her? Heck yes.

Why? Skye is the type of heroine I need to have in a romantic suspense in order to enjoy it. She’s a survivor, she’s well trained, level headed, and while she’s madly in love with Colt, she doesn’t let his reappearance in her life make her stupid. Emotionally conflicted yes, but Skye can shove all that aside in a life or death situation and make it out in one piece. THEN she’ll fall to pieces over Colt. I loved her strong personality because it made her stand out in a plot that had mostly alpha men. That’s not easy to do and Skye did it without making me feel like she was trying too hard. Plus, she stood her ground with Colt without being completely irrational when it came to her safety. Oh and her sense of humor was very similar to mine. There aren’t enough heroines named Skye either so that stood out. Of course, when I first saw her name, I thought of THIS SKYE but when she’s described, I pictured THIS ACTRESS. That was totally random.


Let’s talk about the romance: Get ready for one hot reunion between Colt and Skye because… Well dang I don’t want to give anything away but when he sees her again it was one of the sexiest, not to mention “Aww” inspiring moments in the whole book. Colt really was in love with Skye and Katie Reus did a great job conveying just how much Skye’s supposed death affected him by the way he reacted to seeing her again. And Skye? Well she did fake her death to protect him. She was the more stubborn of the two when it came to emotions and that was a nice change since it’s usually the man who struggles with feeling the feels.



How about that supporting cast? Skye is essentially a loner but Colt comes with a very close group of friends that I absolutely fell in love with. They’re all crazy loyal to each other and they have a “help each other no questions asked” kind of mentality. They can be a bit rough and tumble with each other and definitely blunt to the point of rude but that’s part of their charm. I loved them all and want to know more about them.


Click It or Skip It? Click it. This new series is off to a promising start. Of course, it’s Katie Reus so I’m not surprised I liked it.

Resurrection by Katie Reus is another brilliant book. A fresh new series by this talented writer. I'm a huge fan of her work. As usual, there's always a steamy romance and tons of action. Intriguing right from the get go. I was in love. The two heroes help their friends survive. One goes away to save a female friend. The male partner slash love thinks both his partner and best friend are dead. So, he try's to console the other male over his loss. Lo and behold, there's many twists ahead. And heat packed moments...I couldn't get enough of these new characters. Hot, suspenseful, and entertaining. Katie Reus brings forth more than just a sexy new romance. She breathes life into her work. Making her words come alive. Everything felt real. It was like being with both Colt and Skye as the danger and risks increased with every page. Overall, this is a must read for all romantic suspense spy loving readers. I loved it.

I really enjoyed the book and especially the Chapter headings. They are fun and indicative of the content. And they are consistent with the type of storyline: action, adventure, and swoon-worthy romance.
Chapter 3 "I believe in karma. I also believe in a good throat punch when necessary."
Chapter 4 "blood makes you family. Love and loyalty make you family."
Chapter 6 "If she doesn't scare you a little, she's not the one"
Chapter 10 "Some people just need a high five. In the head. With a golf club."
Chapter 12 "When you show up with a dead body, a real friend grabs a shovel and doesn't ask questions"
Chapter 13 "Social awkwardness is my super power"

So much fun. I will be waiting anxiously for the rest of this series.

Another outstanding, action filled, steamy and emotional series start, that for sure I'll be adding to be TBR for years to come. Katie Reus has a knack for expertly mixing the sincerity and likability of her characters with heart pounding action - Resurrection was no exception to that. Recommend!

Katie Rues does a fantastic job of writing suspenseful romance. Emphasis on the suspense. The thing that I liked most about it was that it didn't just center in on one couple. We get a group of characters that each get their fare share of the limelight. Sets the series up very well this way.

I’m a fan of Katie Reus’s romantic suspense work, so I immediately jumped at the chance to read RESURRECTION, the first book in her new Redemption Harbour RS series, ahead of publication. Overall, I’m pretty neutral about it: it’s an enjoyable, fast-paced read with plenty of action and sexytimes, but it didn’t blow me away. Ms. Reus does a good job with all the exposition required to set up a new series and crafts an appealing, personable cast of characters to populate the Redemption Harbour world-- including Skye Arévalo, the badass, kickass, self-sufficient ex-spook heroine in RESURRECTION-- with a solid (if trite) RS plot… but none of it screams ‘masterpiece’. Regardless, it’s still an enjoyable way to pass a few action-packed, steamy hours, and I look forward to more from the Redemption Harbour crew!

If you haven't read a Katie Reus book then I highly recommend you do so! This is an author not be missed whether it's her paranormal romance books or her romantic suspense books. With that being said, this is the first book in a new series for her. It's about Colt Stuart and Sky Arévalo, who are both CIA operatives. Colt has 7 friends who he considers to be his family. He will do anything and everything for them. Sky faked her death to protect Colt, who was not only her partner but her lover. She left behind everything to keep him safe. When she decides to go help someone who was kidnapped, she comes face to face with Colt. And he has the shock of his lifetime realizing Sky is really alive. Once he finds out why she did what she did? All bets are off and they will do anything to fix the problem and be together, along with help from his family!
This is a great start to a new series for her! I loved Ms. Reus's Red Stone Security series and when it ended I was really hoping there would be a new series that would live up to it! I have to say, this first book definitely lived up to it and in some cases went beyond it! I love how Colt is and how no matter how much he hurts he still knows what he wants and needs and works to get it. I love how much Sky loved him and gave up to make sure that no matter what he was healthy and eventually he would be happy. Together? They were smoking hot! Then you throw in the mix the best friends? I am already in love with them just from the first book! I was hooked from the very beginning of this book and couldn't put it down. I finished it in one night! Loved it!

I am a HUGE fan of this author and I when I heard she was releasing a new series, I could not have requested it quick enough.

This is the first book in the Redemption Harbor series and its all about Skye and Colt. They are both CIA operatives who are also partners as well as lovers. Skye ends up faking her own death in order to protect Colt and the family that he loves.

Colt is devastated when he looses Skye and if that is not enough one of his best friends since childhood, Mary Grace has also been killed in Mexico where she was working as a doctor. Not only is he reeling from that, but also trying to get Mary Grace's husband Mercer through his loss.

When Colt uncovers information that Mary Grace may not be dead, but instead held captive by a Mexican drug cartel, he heads down to Mexico to see if the rumor is true or not. Meanwhile Skye has also found out that Mary Grace is infact alive and she decides to break MG free, as she knows how much she means to Colt, and if Skye cant have the man she loves then she at least wants to help him get one of his friends back.

The first book in this series is action packed and I loved how not only did we get Skye and Colt's story, we also got a bit of Mercer and Mary Grace's as well. We also get introduced to the rest of the Redemption Harbor crew and if you ask me, this is defiantly the start of a awesome new series..... cant wait!!!

Yay! A new series by one of my favorite authors. Katie Reus is fantastic and is always an immediate pick of mine. This is a series about seven friends that grew up together in Redemption Harbor and are now all badasses. With that being said, when one hurts, they all hurt and this starts with meeting Colt and Skye. The are new partners who work for the CIA and their banter is funny.

Fast forward and Colt's friend, Mercer's wife, one of the seven, has died and Mercer is in a bad way. So Colt needs to keep him alive just until her searches out this tip that Mary Grace is alive and being held captive by a cartel.

There is so much going on in this book and I don't want to ruin any of it for you so you're just going to have to read it! It is total gold! Friendship, loyalty, love, and badass friends that stand behind you!
