Always Red was slightly better than the first book of the series, Chasing Red. The plot was more consistent and there were some interesting scenes. But the problem remains with the characters' behavior being inconsistent and changing on a dime without any explained trigger, and the two main characters, Caleb and Red, are still written as really immature for the ages they're supposed to be. Still a bit too melodramatic for my taste, but getting better.

Always Red is the second sensational novel in the series. Filled with the best drama, it's going to make any reader fill with angst. I highly recommend this novel, and the series as a whole.

I don't know if I enjoyed this as much as I did the first one. I seriously don't. I mean, I did love Red and Caleb as much if not more than before. They were just so cute and sweet, it was almost sickening. Seriously, I highlighted a lot of their really sweet and romantic moments.

Red managed to win back Caleb rather quickly, almost with no effort but that boy was Gaga over her, there was no way he would have stayed away from her at all. Their relationship was way stronger than before and they worked through their issue one at a time and that was nice to see that they were willing to work through everything as trial and error, what mattered was that they were together.

“Everyone has fears they keep tightly locked inside themselves.” He turned to look at me now, searching my face. “But that doesn’t make you weak. We judge ourselves too easily when we do something wrong, but you know what’s the most important thing?” I shook my head, and he gave me a soft smile. “It is how you get up after you’ve fallen. How you fix things and how you still find the courage to keep fighting, even after you have been hurt. How you face the wrong things you have done and make them right again. Yes?”

I swear to God Caleb is like the ultimate perfect boyfriend. He is so incredibly sweet with Red, so damn romantic. I swooned so hard so many times, even though some seemed excessive even. Still, they were perfect.

“Red,” he whispered. “Do you know how I felt when you left me?” I lifted my head and looked into his eyes. The emotion I saw in them—the intensity and the tenderness—filled my throat. “I felt ruined. You ruined me. There is anger, but every time I see you, my anger fades away. And there is pain, but what is love without pain? Because, Red, every time you break me apart, you put me back together. And I always come out better than before. So.” He cupped my face, stroking my cheek with his thumb. “Ruin me.”

“From the moment I saw you, you captured me. Body, mind, and soul. Take everything from me. It’s all yours.” “Caleb.” “If I’m to choose my cage,” he said, his voice thick with emotion, “I choose you. I’m a willing prisoner sentenced with a lifetime of loving you.”

I'd marry him.

“I got you lilacs because of what they represent,” he murmured in my ear. I shivered when I felt the warmth of his breath. “What do they mean?” “First love.” I felt my heart stutter. “You’re my first love, Red. And my last.”

However, I think parts of their relationship developed too fast, I wasn't expecting it at least. But it was them and Caleb literally couldn't wait to have her in every way he could.

The drama, well what can I say? Things escalated pretty quickly. I'd seen it coming since the first book. I was already expecting there to be more of it, but not quite as it went. Once again, the whole drama, crazy b*tches ruined it a bit for me. I think it might have been too much.

On a positive note, Red finally caved. I would have too, with a guy like that, not just freaking sexy but so damn romantic too.

“Do you know what I think about?” he asked. His big, warm hands moved down to caress my thighs, squeezing them possessively. “Tell me,” I gasped, unable to stop myself from arching into his touch. “I think of your taste…in my mouth,” he rasped. “I think about what you’ll look like when I suck you. Lick you. Eat you up.”

“Red,” he said softly, opening his eyes and lightly brushing my inner thighs with his thumbs as he pressed a soft kiss to my lips. “Let me worship you.” “Yes,” I murmured against his lips. “Yes, Caleb.” His tongue traced the seam of my lips, coaxing me to open them. He pulled my bottom lip between his, tugging and sucking gently.

God, there are so many moments that I highlighted and want to share. I would literally share the whole book lol. And that ending, that ending was perfect. I had already figured it out on the first book, it was kind of obvious, but it really was the perfect way to end the book and their story.

Now I'm just dying to find out what happened to Cameron and Kara. I will impatiently wait for that book! I need it, stat.

Always Red is definitely slightly better than Chasing Red in that there’s more background and depth to the story, promising subplots, and incredibly incendiary love scenes that are just wild!

The book picks up right where Chasing Red ends, with Caleb hurt over Beatrice-Rose’s betrayal and Red suddenly realizing that she may lose him. The page turning craze begins when Red tries to find new ways to contact Caleb to win him back. Is it possible that she can? Will Caleb even accept her?

It goes back to the saying: “You never know what you have until its gone.”

Her new friends Kar and Beth definitely kept me laughing and as I mentioned, their own plots in the story is promising. I can definitely see some books written based on their lives, however Always Red amps it up with the passionate scenes and crimes of passion as well.

There is definitely more truths being revealed and you pray everyone makes it out alive.

Red is not one of my favorite characters. I tried to like her in the first book, but now I see that Caleb, as sweet and hot as he is, is the more sensitive one in this situation. He will do anything for Red but it seems like it takes a herculean effort for her to show how much she loves him. I give her an A for effort…

I am saying this because, the gorgeous drifting rock star, Damon, who calls her “Angel Face” once again is always to her rescue and she just goes to him. Nothing wrong with that, I mean, she is a grown woman, but when Caleb feels some way about it, she never addresses it appropriately in my opinion. Her upbringing was kind of screwed up which can account for her being a shelled individual.

All in all a great conclusion to the series and I will definitely read more of Ronin’s stories on Wattpad!

Hot, steamy, and fast-paced. This is just as full of drama as Chasing Red was. The ups and downs of the relationship between Red and Caleb continues. I even liked the ending. Ronin's writing style is easy to read and enjoyable.

Thanks to Isabelle Ronin and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca through Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I recently discovered Isabelle Ronin when I read Chasing Red immediately knew I had to get my hands on Always Red. The novel picks up right where the last one left off, with Veronica regretting not giving Caleb a chance to explain himself. Thus begins the suspense of “will things work out or will they not”? There is a lot of crazy drama in this one, but of course, there is still a lot of romance!

Once again, I found myself completely head over heels for Caleb. I just adore this character. Handsome, sexy, wealthy, caring, romantic, and so on. I did find myself frustrated when he gave Beatrice Rose more opportunities to ruin his and Veronica’s relationship and lives, but overall, I am still crazy about him!

Veronica is a character I’ve struggled with because of her low image of herself and her habit of allowing people to walk all over her. However, she really blossomed this time around. She stood up to Beatrice Rose, Miranda (Caleb’s mom), and Justin for all of the rude, insane, crazy, criminal things that were thrown her way. She also became more relatable as she recognized and acknowledged her feelings, and let herself fall for Caleb.

Ronin’s writing style is gripping and each of these novels has been page-turners, however, some of the plot almost got to the point of being silly. The romance, love scenes, conflict, etc. were all perfect until Beatrice Rose’s character started being a little too over the top. Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and had been itching to get my hands on it so I could find out what happened with Caleb and Veronica. But in my opinion, things started spiraling out of control teetering on the line of fiction and absurdity. The story just didn’t need all of the complex, out of control conflicts that were included.

Other than some of the plot issues, this was a fantastic read that I highly recommend after reading Chasing Red. Prepare to fall in love with Caleb and completely believe that fairy tales can come true!

Always Red picked up right where Chasing Red left off with Red/Veronica realizing she made a huge mistake and doing what it takes to make it right with plenty of drama some of which bordered on obsessive/possessive. Even though the conclusion was what I expected it was a bit of a train wreck getting there some of which was a bit over the top.

LOVED THIS SO MUCH! I honestly kind of want there to be another book to this.
I liked the way the author finished this one.
Highly recommend this one.

Ronin's sequel definitely lives up to the first. Caleb and Red are tested time and time again, but find that sticking together- uniting against their "frenemies' is the only way they'll come out happy.
