Tawna Fenske has become my go to for a laugh out loud contemporary romance. If you are a Jill Shalvis fan, I would put Ms Fenske in her category. The premise of the Hook Up was amusing and the book itself entertaining and well worth the read. I really appreciated the crispness and wit of the dialogue. The real clincher for me is that Ms Fenske manages to keep the story and passion factor so balanced. This looks to be a great series.

I loved this book! Laugh out loud hilarious with a bit of steam and a lot of fun - this was the perfect romantic comedy. Tawna Fenske is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! Loved it!

I was disappointed in this book. The last book I read by the author (the list) was one of my favorites of the year and I was so excited that she finally found her voice since her early novels we're way too zany. Her last one was a perfect blend of wacky and reality. This one started off well with that miscommunication conversation but then it turned into a standard romance and I never would have guessed it was a tawna novel. I didn't realize this was the third of a trilogy but I didn't feel like I was missing anything. It was a cute story but the trope of your parents ruining you for a relationship was a tired one.

The Hook Up is book three in the First Impressions series by Tawna Fenske. When new partner at the firm First Impressions offers to help single mom Ellie Sanders with a space to have parties for her online sales company, and later to help market her product line, he knows two things. One - she is far too good for him, and two, he'll do anything to help her out so that she'll keep coming back to visit. When Ellie proposes so no-strings-attached fun, Ty is on board from the word go. The only problem is that the connection between them seems much stronger than a casual fling But before they can move on, Ty has to get oer his troubled past and realize he's a far better man than his father ever was.

I was so excited to learn that there was going to be a third installment in the First Impressions series, because I enjoyed the first two so much.

Ty and Ellie are a fun couple, and Tawna Fenske's humor shines through from their first encounter. But don't let the humor fool you! There's a lot of fire between these two characters, the chemistry is not to be missed. If you haven't read this series yet run (don't walk) to your nearest ap and one click it today!

I've loved the previous book in the series and this one was no different. I just gobbled this one right up. One if my favorite things is the humor. I laughed quite a bit and I enjoyed every minute. I liked the interaction between Ty and Ellie's little boy Henry. Henry is a little pistol. One of my other favorite parts is the banter between Ellie and Ty. They have great chemistry. The epilogue was fantastic because learning about Ty's childhood it was just perfect. I liked that characters from the previous books make an appearance. I loving seeing them enjoying their HEAs. I highly recommend this book!

You know you're in for a wicked treat when you nearly pee your pant and spit out your coffee within the first few pages of a book. To say I enjoyed The Hook Up would be an understatement. I loved it.

Ellie and Ty were both so fun. God, their hilarious meet-cute was one for the record books for laughter and misunderstandings. I loved their seemingly instant connection, even if they were both in a little bit of denial. I loved how their story unfolded and I really couldn't get enough of the both of them. Don't hesitate to put The Hook Up at the top of your vacation reading list-trust me, you'll kick yourself if you don't!

This is one of those stories that made me laugh out loud when I read it. So very funny and I like that about books sometimes. A great story and I had not read the two previous books in the series so I am excited about that opportunity.

3.75 stars--THE HOOK UP is the third installment in Tawna Fenske’s contemporary, adult FIRST IMPRESSIONS erotic, romance series. This is online $ex toy entrepreneur and single parent Ellie Sanders, and videographer Tyler Hendrix’s story line. THE HOOK UP can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous books is revealed where necessary. Ellie is the sister of Jason Sanders, and Tyler is partnered with Miriam Ashley-Sanders (The Hang Up #2).

Told from dual third person perspectives (Ellie and Tyler) THE HOOK UP is a romantic comedy of errors wherein Tyler mistakes Ellie for someone else as he offers his assistance with her online company using a myriad of unintended sexual innuendo that jumps over the line pretty fast. From bowling balls to blue balls to condom covered water pipes Tyler’s introduction to Ellie Sanders finds our couple immediately attracted to one another but Tyler’s less than stellar upbringing and Ellie’s disaster of a first marriage finds our couple wanting a friends with benefits only relationship that turns into something more. But Tyler’s past refuses to go away affecting his emotional stability and his relationship with the woman he loves. What ensues is the building romance that falters when Tyler walks away from a potential future with Ellie Sanders. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense

THE HOOK UP is a fun read with a little bit of romance, sex, heartbreak and love. Jason and Miriam (The Hang Up) play secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Ellie’s son Henry, as well as Tyler’s sister Anna, and their father John. Several minor characters come and go throughout the story line.

THE HOOK UP is a sweet, sexy story of romance with a little bit of humor, fun and conflict. The premise is heartwarming; the characters are realistic and encouraging; the romance is passionate. THE HOOK UP is a spirited and spicy-perfect for a lazy summer afternoon on the beach.

Ellie and Ty, easily some of my favorite characters of all time. They both are adamant they only want to hook up, no relationship needed, yet they also like hanging out and talking to each other and thinking about each other. So it is easy to see why with chemistry as hot as theirs, why and how they fall quickly in love, even if they are in denial.

Fenske does a good job with writing real, relate-able characters and really good at the step parent relationship and making the kids part of the story too.

Overall I couldn't put this down and highly recommend this story. It can easily be read as a stand alone and I enjoyed every second.

The Hook Up is charming, sexy and sweet and stuffed full with witty, engaging, emotionally fleshed out characters. From their very first meeting where Ty thought he was giving Ellie tips on how to market her business that sells bowling balls when in fact she thought he was telling her how to market what she really sells (sex toys and aids) to the sweet apology and lovely, emotional epilogue, I adored every second of Ellie and Ty's journey.

If you are looking for a nicely layered, sexy story with realistic, loving characters, look no further than The Hook Up. You'll love Ty for all his sweetness buried beneath the angst he suffers thinking he's not a good guy because of the horrible role model he had in his father. Ellie for her loving mother, a strong woman whose business helps empower other women. Ellie's brother, Jason for his strong, protective father figure to both Ellie and Henry. Miriam, who is Ty's business partner and Ellie's sister-in-law, for helping Ty see that he is in fact a good man and a good partner. And then there's Henry, Ellie's adorable, precocious little boy, who stole every scene he was in, you won't be able to get enough of his Batman loving sweet self!

This is a romantic feel good story and is an excellent way to spend your reading hours. Two people with damaged pasts who don't believe it's possible to have an HEA decide to have just a bit of sexy fun. Along the way they find they like each other...a lot. The dialogue is sassy, the scenes are laugh out loud funny, and at times very tender and hot. Henry is the sweetest kid. You will like this one. It's very well written and will may you feel good when you finish it

This is not an author I have a lot of experience with but after reading this book, I will be following to see what else she has to offer.

It's full of humor, sexual innuendos and some fantastic characters with a great story line. You know it's a wonderful read when you laugh so hard that your ribs hurt and tears run down your cheeks. The concept was a bit new and very refreshing. I can't wait to see what she has coming out next.

4.5 Stars!

Ellie meets Tyler in the middle of a misunderstanding, but right from the start sparks fly between these two. The attraction is so obviously mutual.

Tyler is glad to help Ellie. He just never planned on meeting someone who would change his future plans. Now, he is not sure how to live without her or her son.

This was my first read by Ms. Fenske, I was happy reading and enjoying such fabulous humor and heat. These characters were a joy to read. And I will definitely be going back to read the rest of this series.

Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for allowing me to read this fantastic story!

The Hook Up by Tawna Fenske is Book 3 of the First Impressions Series. While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

This was my first time reading this author’s work and I wasn’t disappointed. Ms. Fenske has a wonderful writing style that pulls you right into her story; soon enough you’ll be forgetting that you are even reading as you begin to feel as though you are taking part in the storyline. The Hook Up is a sweet read that tells the tale of two individuals that through life experiences are avoiding happily-ever after with a partner. As they maneuver their way through their situation they soon enough find that they might actually want something more, something, oh dare I even say it? Something more happily-ever afterish with each other.

This book is about Ellie and Ty. Ellie is a single mom to a sweet little boy named Henry who is in remission from Cancer. She also
Sells sexy toys as her job

Ty Owns his own company and does videos,
Voice overs and commercials. He is single and prefers to stay that way.

Ty and Ellie meet because Ty's business partner is Ellie's sister in law, Miriam. Miriam's asks Ty to meet with Ellie and give her some business tips. Well when they meet Ty thinks Ellie is his other appointment and it is laugh out loud hilarious meeting. Even though their 1st meeting was a little unconventional there was a definite spark of attraction between them.

Ellie as Ty both have had a rough past and think they both only need/want a fling. However they both realize what why need is each other and let their past be their past.

This is anvery sweet book with dual POV, sexy times and very unique cursing! Also even though Ellie sells sex toys the loves scenes are very mild and mention no use of any of the sex toys.

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

The Hook Up (First Impressions) by Tawna Fenske
This is single mom Ellie Sanders and Tyler "Ty" Hendrix's story.

This is a funny and sexy story of two people that find out they have more in common than you would think. Neither one want a relationship but would consider a hook up. Will this turn into more?

A great read for the beach or when you just need a fun escape. Lots of funny and hot situations.

FYI, contains mature content.  I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is the 3rd book in the First Impressions series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. In order to avoid spoilers, and have a better grasp of the series, I recommend reading in order.

Ellie meets Tyler in the middle of a misunderstanding. Right from the start there are sparks flying between the two of them. The attraction is obviously mutual.

Tyler wants to help Ellie. He just thinks she does something else for a living. He never planned on meeting someone who would change his future plans. Now, he is not sure how to live without her.

With all the fun I have come to expect from this author, I was happily reading and enjoying the humor and heat. These characters were a joy to read. I think this book fits well in to this very sexy series too.
