It wasn't until I finished the book that I found out that this book was a third in a series so that goes to say that this book is standalone and with how this book turned out I'll be sure to check out the other books.

I can honestly say I really enjoyed the book, I manged to finish this book quickly. I pretty much spent the who day reading it. I usually have a soft spot for westerns, cowboy types of book. I haven't come across the pov of a cowgirl character though and it was an interesting change. I enjoyed the characters and loved that spark and enjoyed the plenty of steamy scenes that happens between Adam and Skye. Now that I'm thinking about it don't remember if I've come across a game developer in books before until now that that a welcomed change as well. I loved that Skye was a pretty independent women who didn't want to rely on any man to help her out, shes been burned before and she got work and her child to think of. I loved that even when offered she did her own thing and wanted to work out her own issues without anyone help. I loved that there was a few conflicts to keep things interesting. Overall the story line was interesting, the book is well written and I loved how this book played out was an enjoyable read and I can't wait to get ahold of the previous books.

I had read a book by this author before so I wanted to try another with this happening to be from the series I read it from. She has a way of combining romance with a touch of humor that makes for delightful reading. This one centered around two delightful characters-Adam and Skye. How this even became more relate able is where he is from and what he does. How he ends up in her neck of the woods so to speak is nice but funny how he ends up there alone. I believed she needed the breath of fresh air named Adam since she was working so hard. This takes you along nicely with how they interact with each other and the story that is presented to us. Was not disappointed with this and glad I had opted to try another one from this author.

Catching the cowgirl is a fun story to read. Some of the story was funny and made me laugh. The story centered around a Colorado dude ranch which I found interesting. I also enjoyed the characters. Skye Hawkins runs the dude ranch with some help from her son Cody and her neighbors. The other main character is geeky Adam Clark, who is vising the dude ranch to get some ideas for his next video game that will take place on a dude ranch.

City comes to country and fall in love in Catching the Cowgirl by Jennie Marts. This Cotton Creek Series of which this is book three. I loved watching Adam experience the ranch lifestyle when he is so obviously out of his element. He is so endearing of a character, I think I fell for him when he stepped off the bus. Skye was a harder sell though as a person she would be the type I would want as a friend. While I understood her wariness, she misjudged Adam more than once which I hated for Adam. Still it was not too much drama. Perhaps that is what made this book so genuine often one partner is reluctant when they have been hurt before.

It is not secret, I enjoy Jennie Marts style of writing. The stories are character focused with snappy dialogue that can be down right funny. While there are bumps in the roads, I count on a HEA by the end of the journey. This is an author who has never failed to deliver. She certainly did give the reader a fun, romantic story with Catching the Cowgirl.

Skye Hawkins is the owner of her family's struggling dude ranch, as well as a single mom. She doesn't have time nor the desire to date, until Adam Clark arrives at her ranch. Adam prefers technology to nature, yet he's a video game designer in search of cowboy themes to incorporate into his newest western adventure game. Adam and Skye are drawn to each other, despite their differences. As the story unfolds, both main characters are forced to deal with their insecurities and issues, while attempting to form their new relationship.

Since it's the third book in the Cotton Creek series, it's ideal to start with the first book, yet it's not necessary to read them in order. I started the series with this book.

Catching the Cowgirl is geared towards those who enjoy reading contemporary romances.

Fantastic Sweet Fun Story that keeps you flipping gauges and you don't want it to end. Skye is running her families dude ranch and Adam is a rich city guy trying to do research for his next assignment for work. I enjoyed this Book so much, Jennie Marts has the magic of writing the perfect characters that you can relate with. I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I loved that Skye wanted to make it on her own but she deserved help. She cant do everything alone. I love that she loved her son so much and took care of him by herself. Ethan snake skin boots had me cracking up I would have took them off if my were hurting so bad. Adam fought for Skye even though she mad him work hard for it. I really enjoyed this book thank you Jennie for selecting me to review this book.

A cute, super sweet book about a nerdy guy that will make you laugh and a woman that knows the meaning of hard work. She's not afraid of it and she does what she knows needs to be done.

These two are total opposites in most ways. Skye isn't used to the feelings that Adam provokes in her and she isn't the usual kind of woman that he's interested in. He's never met anyone like her. Will she listen to him when it's needed or will she just blow him off because she's scared?

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. This book was ok. I think it was way too predictable. I loved the concept and I really liked the hero. It was nice to have him be a fish out of water. The insta love and solving all her problems was a bit too fairy tale, especially since her main concern was taking care of herself. I would have liked more dude ranch aspects

I have fallen in love with this series! Set at a dude ranch in Colorado, it's a sweet story perfect for those days of lying around the pool or on a rainy day. Great story!

Loved this book, a fun romance set at a Dude ranch in Colorado. Skye single mom, the owner of the ranch meets up with Adam, a city boy, game designer. Polar opposites, but they can't fight the attraction. Add in the mixture of Cody, Skye's teenage son, never a dull moment.

This is the perfect summer read that will keep you turning the pages. Loved the characters, neither looking for a lasting relationship. Great descriptive writing , you can close your eyes and feel like your at the dude ranch. I highly recommend this book!!

The technical boring stuff: This is technically book three of the Cotton Creek series but it completely stands alone – you do not have to read the previous books in order to enjoy this one and it DOES NOT end on a cliffhanger. There is minimal cursing and some mild sexual content but nothing that is overly graphic.

This book is a really great addition to the Cotton Creek series. Adam was a bit of a hot mess as he tried to adjust to ranch life even though he was so far out of his depth that it wasn't funny, but that it so completely endearing. As was his attempt to figure out how to woo Skye. Sadly for Adam, Skye was fiercely independent (which I loved) and wasn't easily wooed. Skye was fabulous, she was an incredible mother and as I mentioned, she was fiercely independent without coming off as harsh or brutal. Her relationship with Cody was incredibly well-written and I loved that Adam helped improve it rather than cause ripples in it. The fact that there was no conflict where Adam and Cody was concerned was one of my favorite things.

Readers who will enjoy this book are those who have read and enjoyed the other Cotton Creek books, those who enjoy “opposites attract” type stories, or those who just enjoy a sweet story about people who are likable and belong together as a family.

Catching the Cowgirl is an opposites attract romance between a hardworking, single mom, cowgirl trying to make ends meet and a wealthy game creating geek who finds himself doing more than just research on this ranch. This fast paced romance does require you to be a little open-minded as it plays out over just a couple of days but if you can be, this relatively light hearted read mixed with a little angst and drama is a fun read for those who love a cowgirl romance with a side of light steam (but without being totally explicit).

Adam and Skye have an instant attraction from the off-set. Skye’s strong outward character gives off the impression she is strong and while that is the case, she has vulnerabilities that make her appealing to the reader as Adam and she grow closer. Adam is one of those loveable geeks who may not have the knowledge of how to run a ranch and wildlife skills as others but proves he can be just as resourceful and oh so sexy too. Through the use of dual points of views we clearly get to both Adam and Skye warring with their emotions as their relationship heats up in this temporary fling. I loved the role of Skye’s son Cody and the importance he played in showing differing sides to both Adam and Skye.

Finally, while this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, no problem.

I always enjoy Jennie Marts’ books for a light but heartfelt read and would recommend this book! Can’t wait to see what else this author comes up with!

you wouldn't think that a computer nerd would discover his place in the world at a dude ranch, but life has a way of throwing you curveballs. in catching the cowgirl, adam clark isn't one for communing with nature, but his business partner has a way of convincing him to do things that go against the grain and truth is he's not steered them wrong yet.

but when he ends up alone on what was supposed to be a research trip in advance of their next launch, adam has to make do. if he's honest, he's not too disappointed, because he gets to spend time with the delectable skye hawkins, especially since his partner had signed them up for all sorts of extras.

skye is a single mom struggling to keep her father's legacy alive. she's running behind on bills, short on time and resources, and maybe has a guy or two she's ready to give away. her son cody is a sullen teenager she can't pry off the computer. her neighbor clint keeps hinting that he wants more than friendship. thank goodness cal the stablehand just does his job. so really the last thing she's looking for is this insane attraction to a guest, especially one who lives in another state and is only in town for a week.

except the way that she connects with him. the way that he connects with her. nothing has ever felt so right. but how do you make something impossible work? skye is about ready to give up, but lucky for her adam happens to be a super smart engineer and solving problems is his jam. he surprises her in more ways than one, and it's totally sweet and enjoyable to read about.

This was a terrific take on opposites attracting and attracting hard. The computer geek drawn to the single mom rancher... now that has a different take to it...What was so engaging was how the geek wouldn't let all the tough... no not going there gal push him away. Wonderful read.

This is book #3, in the Cotton Creek series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding of the series, I recommend reading in order.

Adam visits a real dude ranch for research on the new game he and his partners are making. When he finds himself alone with the owner, Skye, he is glad he has her to himself. The heat between them sparks right away and they have to decide if they are going to act upon it.

Skye is a single mother with a lot going on. She is proud of the life she has created for her family. Meeting Adam turns everything upside down, as she is feeling the heat when he is near.

This story was filled with serious sparks flying and jokes flowing. The lead characters made me a bit crazy as I kind of wanted to knock some sense into them. I enjoyed the pace, and was pleased with the plot. I loved all the pop culture jokes as well.

If you're anything like me—as in, a fan of sweet, light-hearted romance—then Catching the Cowgirl and the Cotton Creek series are definitely books to check out. Jennie Marts has such a charming way of writing, and her stories, like that of Adam and Skye, are happy, flirty and fun.

Easy to read. Easy to enjoy.

This one is a simple enough premise. Brilliant city boy (bonus points for the geek-factor; I do love an intellectual hero) meets gritty country girl, and boom, opposites are attracting all over the place. Throw in a little intrigue and a spooked horse, and you have a book that'll keep your interest long after the last pages is read.

Or maybe it's Adam that'll keep you interested… I loved him, with his glasses, terrible boots and complete and utter lack of outdoorsiness. I can relate to that. He was swoony, kind and sexy all in one nerdy package, and it was a no-brainer to fall for him.

Skye, on the other hand, I didn't warm to quite as well. At times, yes, she absolutely kicked-ass, and as a reviewer who adores cowboy romance, having a cowgirl taking charge was a welcome change. But… I couldn't help but feel like she was a little ungrateful here and there, and it stopped me from really loving her—though I liked, no doubt.

All in all, Catching the Cowgirl is another excellent Cotton Creekread, presented as part of a sweet, swoony series that's given us a park ranger, a fisherman and now, a cowgirl— and one I hope that, you, like me, are sure to become a fan of.
