Bill may be a supercilious a88hole but he is also funny!

I was prepared to dislike this book because I’ve read many books based on Internet memes that do not translate well to a book format. I think even Bill’s platitudes would be better one per day rather than all of them at one sitting. However, as I decided to look for the perfect page to quote for this review, I realized I was highlighting quite a few. I am including a quote that is both funny, true and taught me something (and probably will teach you and Pharrell something too).

This is Bill.
Bill doesn’t call his girlfriend “bae”.
He knows “bae” is Danish for “poop”.
Bill is smart.
Be like Bill.

I appreciate a book that makes me pick up my phone and google a word in the urban dictionary. This book is good for an hour or two in an airport or while on break at work.

I want to thank the publisher, authors and netgalley for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book will be published on September 5, 2017.

This is the kind of book you want to buy even if it's just to take out select pages and hand them out to people who are not being very bill- like.

The best thing about this book is that it highlights a lot of things that I want to say to others, but don't because I don't want to appear rude. Sure, there are some things I don't agree with, but it doesn't stop me from loving this book.

Bill thought it was a good idea to publish this book. Bill was wrong. Be smart. Don't be like Bill.

I vaguely remembered the Be Like Bill meme, and was curious if this book would be funny. Sadly, it's not, it's one joke wearing thin very quickly. This probably explains the very short lifespan of the meme, and therefore the dated nature of this book. I do like the range of targets this book has, it could have just been about internet etiquette as this meme was known for.

Be Like Bill is a funny entertaining book that gives some people a much needed dose of common sense. I think everyone should read this book, if for a laugh or to remind them of common decency.

I thought this would be funnier so unfortunately, I didn't finish it.

This book is funny and silly. It's probably what you are expecting when you read the cover so I would say it satisfies. Got a chuckle or several.

Common sense is not so common.

This book is funny for this reason. Most of the advises given are just common sense, but all of knows way to many who do not know this. We all have someone who remind us of the person this is a hint for.

Bill was popular a few years ago, and he was funny then as well. But it became too much, he was on my whole facebook wall, and I got so tired. Still I read this book, and it is as charming and funny as the first mems, not the ones who flooded my facebook. The book is a quick read, and fits perfect in the bathroom or om the livingroom table were it can be picked up and opened on any page for a small laugh.

I knew this was going to be funny and it was!

Bill is very funny but also quite irritating because Bill has it all worked out. Don't be a fool. Get life worked out. Be like Bill.

The popular Facebook meme is back, but this time in a book and as usual he is great fun because he always knows what to do and he knows that we don't always know what to do, and so Bill gets things right and we are encouraged to emulate him.

Bill exists because people do irritating things on Facebook like ranting about Monday when Monday happens every week and will continue to happen, and sharing really personal and private things that should be kept private.

Bill of course goes beyond Facebook because he knows how to do everyday life and to do it well. He knows he should allow people to choose what they want to watch on TV instead of harassing them to watch his favourite shows. He knows when he is on a date with his girlfriend he should allow her to choose what she wants to eat. He also knows he shouldn't click on links that promise him a new iPhone because all he will get from doing so is a new virus. Bill knows a lot of stuff and Bill gets things right.

Bill reminds me of Charley, the 1970's public safety announcements for kids https://youtu.be/2AIB7M3V_j4 The only difference is Charley mostly got things wrong and learnt from experience, whereas Bill always gets things right and we are meant to learn from him. I am from a well looked after generation with Charley in my childhood and Bill in my adult life. It means that if I follow Bill and do exactly like him I will never do anything wrong and I will live a full and meaningful life with lots of friends.

Or just be really irritating because if we were all like Bill life and the internet would be incredibly boring.

This volume is great fun, easy to read and a good one for the coffee table.

This the kind of book people with common sense will enjoy. Bill is funny, and his sense of humor should bring at least one smile to your face.
