I've not read any of the other books in the series but this could certainly be read as a standalone novel. The plot was great and the author really paints a picture with words so you feel that you are in the action.
Highly recommend if you enjoy a good action packed story

I haven't read anything by Matt Hilton before, so I was not sure what to expect. It was a good solid read, and quite entertaining from the start. Recommended.

This is my second Matt Hilton book having come a little late to a great party. I struggled to get into it at first but that quickly changed in the second half of the book. Yes it's all faintly ridiculous but great action packed escapism and I'd like to see Trey feature in future books. I still have a note to self to read the whole back catalogue.

Even after 11 books, Marked for Death, the twelfth book in the Joe Hunter series shows no signs of the hero slowing down. Matt Hilton has written a fast-paced novel, with a tight plot and a thoroughly detestable villain.

This is the first of the Joe Hunter thrillers that I’ve read, but after doing so I would definitely be interested in going back to the earlier novels to see Joe Hunter’s character forming, as there ae some small references to earlier situations, but they don’t spoil the overall plot.

I was really impressed that this novel was bang up-to-date, with references to the current US President, and the final dastardly plan is clever in its execution, and not revealed until almost the end of the novel.

The characters are well written, and there is real emotion as bad things happen to Hunter’s colleagues – it all adds up to a worthwhile thriller, full of action and intrigue.

I really enjoyed this book and hovered initially between 4 and 5 stars, but when I found myself thinking more about the plot the following day I knew it had to be a 5 star read for me if I was still thinking about it in that much depth the next day!!

I loved the plot and it moved at an excellent pace for me, I was gripped and as soon as the plot picked up pace I didn't want to put it down. The characters were great and I thoroughly enjoyed it - 5 stars from me and very, very highly recommended!!

A very fast paced novel and exactly the type of story I love.
Naturally, comparisons will be drawn between the main character and Flynn's Mitch Rapp, Lee Child's Reacher and Rob Sinclair's Logan but Matt Hilton's hero Hunter, a former special forces turned security officer certainly isn't left wanting.
Tense all the way through with some moments of real humour ("He could make a fence post look hyperactive") this novel is a page turner which leaves you rooting for the right people all the way through.

Suspenseful, gripping, and exceptionally fast-paced!

This is an adrenaline-pumping thrill ride that immerses you in the dark, gritty underworld of gun smuggling and sex trafficking and reminds us that evil often exists closer than you think.

The writing is well done and well paced. The characters are tenacious, tough, smart, dangerous and protective. And the plot is a riveting tale of murder, revenge, corruption, power, hatred, manipulation, abuse, survival and terror.

Overall, I have to say that Hilton has written another winner with this latest outing in the Joe Hunter series. It's exciting, highly entertaining and bursting with so much tension, action and adventure that it's impossible not to be completely captivated and enthralled from start to finish.

Thank you to Matt Hilton and Canelo for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Always waiting for the next Joe Hunter novel I was delighted to be able to review, Marked For Death. What started off as a routine security job turned into anything but. When hunter walks in on millionaire, Viskhan knocking his wife about he quickly steps in and intervenes, knocking the man to the ground.. Not the sort of person to forgive and forget such an affront Viskhan takes his men that he has put together for another more devastating task and orders them to find and kill his wife and Hunter. This leads to a chase over Miami with many bodies left along the way. Rink finds Hunter and when they find out what Viskhan and his mercenaries are planning to do and the mayham and devastation it will cause if their plan is successful, the hunted become the hunters, and when the bullets start flying and people are dying Hunter and Rink head towards they conflict planning to wipe out Viskhan and his band for good. A very good unputdownable, entertaining read that keeps you reading even when you know you should put it down and go to sleep. Just what we have come to expect from Matt Hilton..

This is the 12th Joe Hunter book, I have not read them all and do not feel you have to, to enjoy this one. Hunter is hired for security job at a posh hotel, after stepping in to stop a women from being beaten, he is drawn into a violent encounter with the abuser. Trey Shaw has been abused for years, her husband is also a criminal, plotting a major terrorist attack. Can Hunter help her escape and also stop her husband's plans. This is a good read, which moves at a nice pace and leads to a very bloody final confrontation. Will be looking for some of the pervious books.

This was a good read, and would be appreciated by fans of Vince Flynn and Lee Child. I did feel as though I'd missed a lot of 'back story' not having read any of the earlier books but this did not detract as it stands alone in its own right. Definitely an author I will read again.

Marked For Death is an adrenaline-fueled rush! Heart-racing, none-stop action and suspense! Hold on for a wild ride! Mr. Hilton knows how to depict fight scenes like no other! Complete escapism, albeit with the need to suspend disbelief!
My thanks to Mr. Hilton, the publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Matt Hilton thrillers never disappoint me. I love the Joe Hunter series and this one is set in Miami. Hunter is drawn into what appears to be a domestic dispute but he soon discovers it is much more sinister. A rip roaring, fast paced and modern plot. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for my copy Net Galley..
