First: this is not my normal reading fare, so to speak. I do like a YA or NA sometimes, but there has to be something to lure me in. I really enjoyed the second book in this series (Sweet Girl), so I did not hesitate when this came available for request at NetGalley.

I gave it 4 stars, mostly for the writing and the emotions it caused. It is a good NA story with lots of emotion and a sensitive subject (view spoiler). The storyline had me choking up so that is actually good but on the other hand it was not good as I don't really like how the story ended. It does have a HFN ending but there was something I was hoping for that could not be and was not rational to hope for.

This story well written and enjoyable but just wasn't something new, girl and boy meet young, fall in love but problems arise they are separated for years only to come back together, the magic is still there and bam HEA. It strayed from that formula here and there but overall it's like a lot of other stories. The only problem I had was I was unable to forgive Carver for his wrong doings in the story and felt Logan did to easily, in fact I thought she took too much of it on herself and I hate when at the end of a story I'm not as much in love with the hero as the heroine.

Sweet Summer Love is the third book in The Sweetest Thing Book Series and while it is the third book it can be read as a standalone book. I feel like reading a book that is not the first book of a series can sometimes make me feel lost, this one is not like that. You honestly can read this book, the third book in this series and understand the story completely. However, now I really want to read the other two books. The story is about Logan and Carver who meet at summer camp. Fast forward to five years later and they cross paths again. I feel like the author uses flashbacks to help you understand the story better. Overall, a really great romantic read. **I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.**

3.5 Stars!

A rating was really hard for me to come up with for this book. It's the first book I've read by Sierra Hill, and I actually loved reading it. The writing was really good, and I immediately fell in love with the characters. Logan and Carver's story sucked me in right away starting with the foreshadowing in the prologue. I loved the little bit of mystery behind the history of their relationship and the way Logan and Carver came back into each other's life. That's where things get a little sticky for me.

I couldn't keep some big things from staying in the back of my mind for the rest of the book. First, Logan and Carver's previous relationship was based off being together at summer camp for two weeks a year for three years. They had no contact in between those summers. I honestly couldn't understand how they were in love back then. Lust and like I get, but love? I just didn't think their bond could have been as strong as it was. That leads to the second thing that bugged me. There was a major event that split them apart. Both were harboring some bad feelings from it. It only took one brief conversation for them to get over it and jump back into things. I had a hard time believing they could get over the negative feelings they had been keeping inside for five years in one conversation. All their troubles seemed to easily be fixed.

There was one other thing that threw me off a bit. Graduating college senior Carver was into kink. Like really into it. I mean, I guess I could understand it since he became quite the ladies man in college. Experimentation and all. What surprised me was that it didn't seem to shock Logan. She hadn't been with him since she was seventeen, yet she was willing to give him everything and anything. It made for some sweet sex scenes, but I have to admit shaking my head in wonderment a couple of times over how easily Logan was up for it. I think I would have been more questioning.

Despite those things, I really did love Sweet Summer Love. It obviously had some issues for me, but they didn't stop from my enjoyment. I would still recommend reading it. It was a cute second chance romance. I want to go back and read the first two books now.

Carver tries to do the right thing, “we came in here to give me a chance to cool down. Honestly... if we go back to your apartment right now, Lo, I won’t take my time with you.” He stares into my eyes and I see the heat flickering in his irises. “Or be gentle.” Carver says the sweetest things, "...I’m taking you back to my hotel where I plan to make you a very happy woman, all night long.” I really liked this book, I loved Carver.

The book didnt go how I guessed which was a little sad. But I understood that was the best decision for Logan. She was so brave and strong her life was not easy. She had a lot of disappointments from the people she loved. Carver I loved him he made some decisions that I wanted to strangle him for but he was young. The ending.... I loved but I wanted more I think thats just me just being greedy. But I will be buying the other books in the series. Thank you Sierra for the opportunity to read this book for review.

This books was not for me. For me, the main characters seemed immature and the story was off.
I don't want to ruin the review with spoilers, but a lot of things didnt make sense to me....
