I generally love this author, and I know what I am getting when I read one of her books. But for this one, the passion and connection between the characters never "took off" for me.
I have chosen not to finish or review this title.
Thank you for the opportunity.

Firstly, thanks to NetGalley for allowing me a review copy of this book.
So, while I do like a good book of this genre, they are so, so hard to find. The problem is that so many are written in such a manner that it seems as though it's been written by a horny, hormonal teenager exploring sex and sexuality for the first time. Unfortunately, this is one such book.
Aside from this, there is also the fact that Bobbi, the lead character, is an airline pilot. The book opens with Bobbi flying a Boeing 747 into London Heathrow. At which point we discover that there has been a complete lack of research into any kind of aviation procedures.
While I appreciate and respect the Erotica genre, and do enjoy reading it, for me there does have to be a story there that's properly researched and written. A back story behind sex for the sake of sex is just porn and a complete turn off.

Bobbi and Mack where high school sweethearts who broke up as life changed for both of them. Reunited at 37000 feet in the air as Bobbi is the captain of a plane and Mack is a passenger. Mack makes a huge player for Bobbi, will she let him catch her? I loved the London setting and all the great info about it. Liked that they were a couple in their 50s.

Cockpit is a hot second chance romance. Bobbi left Mack years ago when she chose her career as a pilot over him. Now, 40 years later he's on her flight and suddenly all those feelings are rushing up again.
If you think sex between anyone older than 20s and 30s isn't hot, Bobbi and Mack will prove you completely wrong. Even though they're in their 50s, they're hotter together than most 20 and 30 year olds. But, Bobbi is coming off a a bad divorce and Mack, well, Mack is still wearing a wedding ring. So, will they ever get their second chance? For real this time, with nothing standing in their way?
I like Cockpit and would have given it 5 stars if there had been an epilogue and if the ending weren't a little abrupt and rushed. Up to that point, though, I thought Cockpit was heading into 5 star land for sure. It's sexy and steamy, sweet and emotionally satisfying. There's something to be said for people who have lived their lives longer than a few decades. They're wiser and more experienced, and when I say experienced, I mean EXPERIENCED!! Whew...

A female airline pilot approaching her sixties comes across her old high school boyfriend sitting in first class on her flight to London. She eventually meets him for a drink in their hotel, not expecting anything to happen because he’s wearing a wedding ring, as well as their ages. Boy, was she wrong.
Interesting that, after quite a few mentions of age at the beginning—mostly with her wondering if she could be sexy enough—it was never mentioned again, certainly not during sex. Though her self-doubt was understandable, there seemed to be too much of it, especially in her rivalry with a flight attendant half her age who’d screwed her now ex-husband. A little more of London would have been nice too.
In the end it was cute but no big deal. Extra points for having an older couple, especially the sex scenes in offbeat titillating places like the London Eye and the flight simulator. But other than that it seemed pretty standard.

Steamy Second Chance at love Seasoned Romance story.
I loved that Mack and Bobbie were in their 50s and shown in a steamy romance.
It was a well-written story and I'd love to know what happened next in their relationship.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book that I received from Net Galley.

Cockpit by Kate Deveaux is a short story about two people that fell in love during high school. Now it is 40 years later, and they meet again on a flight to London.
Bobbi Cooper is a skillful commercial airline pilot, and she enjoys the freedom and control that flying provides. Mack McConnell is the founder and CEO of a very successful bio genetics firm. Both Bobbi and Mack have worked very hard to achieve their professional success. Bobbie is newly divorced from her cheating husband of 23 years. Mack is a widower, after losing his beloved wife to cancer a little over a year ago.
Bobbi and Mack rekindle the spark from years ago, and they are a hot couple both in and out of the bedroom. They decide to take a second chance at love, once they iron out a few of the details from their respective pasts. If you in the mood for a quickie with a lot of steam, Cockpit is for you.
In addition, the book's cover is both alluring and sexy.
