The book started off with a bang and kept up the pace throughout the book.  It starts off with a girl called Darby who is driving home for Christmas but gets caught in a snow storm so has to stop at a rest stop for the night. Her phone has no signal so she can't tell anyone where she is.  She meets some people at the rest stop, one of who says she can get signal next to a statue outside so off she treks.  She still can't get signal so walks back through the car park when she sees something horrifying in one of the vehicles.  She then has to figure out who's car it is and what to do about it.

The story kept me guessing all through until then reveal and then the book got even more tense afterwards.

The best thing about this book is that it is so cleverly told, you can see it before you. It would really do well as a movie, also because there are only a limited amount of people involved. I like books like these, where you have an innocent bystander that walks into the middle of something disturbing and dangerous. Darby is, despite the fact she is unhappy and confused, a quick thinker and she needs all her imagination to save herself and the little girl. I read it in one sitting and will surely read it again sometime. It is gripping!

Having lived most of my life in Colorado, this novel really hit home. Caught up in a massive blizzard in the mountains, our heroine, Darby Thorne is struggling valiantly to make it over the mountains, all to no avail. When a rest stop appears, she decides to pull off and wait for the storm to pass. It will be the most fateful decision she ever could have made. When she spots a small hand in the back of a van at the rest stop, Darby knows she has no choice but to help. Who is the owner of this little hand? What’s the deal here? Who is driving the van? The story is an edge of your seat thriller, and I finished it with no fingernails left to speak of. I couldn’t put it down. I love Darby as a character. She is so very strong and resourceful. I will definitely be reading more from this author!

The premise for this book was a good one. It started out fast paced and really kept my attention until about 20% in.

It was just way to unrealistic. Who in their right mind tries to rescue a kidnapped child from a van while STRANDED at a rest stop during a blizzard with no plan or way to call for help? What was she going to do? Take the child out of the van and hide her in her own car until the plows came the next morning?

Then she opens the door to the van with her shoelace? Pfft. Right. Then she's locked in the back of the van with Lars sitting in the front seat. How does he not realize that she's back there? Makes no sense to me.

Lars and all the farting- Come on. That was childish and should have been left out. I don't mind childish humor but I felt like the author didn't know what else to put there and used it as pointless filler.

I also did have some issues with the writing style. It was sometimes hard to read then there was a lot of dialog with no real separation in who was actually speaking. It didn't happen all the time but it was enough to annoy me.

Then there was the short and abrupt 3-4 word sentences. For the love of all things writing, don't do that! I hate when authors do that. It disturbs the flow of the writing and I will most likely ditch the book because of it.

Sadly this was a DNF for me. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. If there was more action I would have stuck it out despite the issues I had with the writing style.

NO EXIT is a great suspense read. Lots of twist and surprises (you don't really know who anyone truly is). I read through the night and could not put it down.

Wow - I wasn't expecting this book! Once things start moving and Darby discovers a child.. you can't even imagine how much more is still to come. The pacing was great and reveals truly surprising. Thanks for this great read!

No Exit is a heart pounding thriller suspense with a wise cracking and smart heroine. Darby is a college student trying to make it home to see her dying mother when she becomes stuck at a rest stop during a blizzard. Trying to find a cellphone signal, she finds a kidnapped child in the back of a van at the reststop. Psychological warfare begins as Darby tries to free the child without alerting the remaining patrons of the rest stop. With twists and turns that kept me reading up into the morning, No Exit thrills and chills. My voluntary review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

This book was very suspenseful with lots of action. It rates up there with one of those books where people keep getting killed.

I loved this book, it took so many twists and turns but always left you wanting to know more of what could possibly happen next, I thought it was well written and I can't wait to read more from Taylor Adams!

A thriller that you cannot put down, or forget! From the moment i began reading i was captured, and had my heart racing! Truly an amazing book!! I loved how this young college girl faced with certain death, or keeping quiet and knowing her life was guaranteed took the chance to save this little girl. A stranger... An amazing story and even the ending i was like in shock because i couldn't believe it, but the ending will leave a smile on your face, and makes you think what would you truly do in that situation? Could you survive like Darby or would you be the one to turn and run the other way?

This book is insanely suspenseful!!!! I had a little bit of trouble with Darby's immediate reaction- to not make a public plea for help to the group- but after that, things escalated furiously and I couldn't tear myself away from the story. Recommended!

This is one of those books that has heart-rending action that grows larger and closer together as the story progresses. Think a Bruce Willis film. I kept having to tell myself to stop reading and just BLINK, and breathe, for crying out loud. No Exit takes place in a rest stop in Colorado so it was quite easy to picture the action as it built to crescendo, but anyone would where ever they come from, I believe. This is a novel I can happily recommend to family and friends. Taylor Adams is an author I will follow.

What can I say? I'm so glad I don't bite my fingernails as I would have none left after reading this. It's definitely hard to put this book down as there's never a break in the tension.
Highly recommended for those who like a fast paced, gripping thriller.

After a very intense and emotional last read, I wanted an entertaining, fast-paced thriller to clean my palate and save me from my book hangover – and No Exit sounded like just that type of book. The premise of a small group of people confined in a small space in the middle of a snowstorm intrigued me. I love tense, claustrophobic settings as a backdrop to a crime story. Adams sets the scene very well, with young Darby getting caught in a blizzard as she is driving her old car across the country to get to the bedside of her dying mother. Darby’s anxiety of not making it in time is portrayed really well, as is her desperation as she realises that she is trapped in a remote location with no means of escape, and no phone service to alert her family or the authorities to her plight. Just the thought of being confined to a bleak roadside shelter with four strangers sent shivers down my spine. The situation gets even worse when Darby discovers a little girl imprisoned in one of the cars parked outside, and realises that some of the people inside the shelter may be involved in a kidnapping. The premise of the story had all the right elements for a heart-pounding thriller, and there is certainly a lot of adrenaline-surging action as the story plays out.

I enjoyed this for the quick and entertaining read I had wished for, but had a few minor issues with general plotting. <spoiler> For example, why would the two brother pretend that they didn’t know one another? There was no motive to do so. At this stage, Darby had not even discovered the little girl in the van. It didn’t make any sense. </spoiler> My main gripe however was the character of the six-year-old girl, who talked and acted like an adult. Even though my own children are no longer that young, I see little children every day at work, and have never come across one as precocious as young Jay. The story would have worked much better for me had Jay acted like the little child she was supposed to be – for one, it would have got all my maternal instincts going whilst reading it, and let me form a much deeper emotional connection to the child.

No Exit was a quick and entertaining read with a tense and claustrophobic setting and lots of action in the later half of the story. Readers who can overlook a few minor plot-holes may find it the perfect holiday read for the train or the plane or just to clean the palate with a book that carries you along in its wake without needing to puzzle out any riddles along the way. I thought it would make a great movie!

This book was intense. It gripped me from page one and did not let go until the very last page. I could not get enough. There was no shortage of twists and turns. There were characters written to make you either love or hate them and it was all very well done. I loved it!

I really enjoyed this book. A real page turner. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Then she stumbles across a little girl who is locked inside one of their cars.

There is no cell phone signal,no wi-fi,no telephone,no way out because of the snow,and she doesn't know which one of the other travellers is the kidnapper.

Who is the little girl? Why has she been kidnapped? And even if Darby can get her out of the vehicle with no help for miles will they be able to stay alive long enough to be rescued.

OMG,this really is a fast paced roller coaster ride.After spending a few pages getting to know Darby,the reader is launched into a danger packed,adrenaline ride that rockets along and grips the reader so tightly that you sometimes have difficulty breathing. I really liked Darby and the little girl Jay and I found myself constantly on the edge of my seat,routing for them both and hoping that they would both be alive by the end of the book.

I really enjoyed this gripping,page turner.I haven't read any other books by this author but after reading this I fully intend to rectify that in the not too distant future.
