I found this book interesting and it gave me an insight into American Politics which was interesting as a non-US person.

Sadly I didn’t enjoy this book. Ive previously found books by Naomi Kline informative and thought provoking but this didn’t hit the mark.

An important and thoughtful book. I really enjoyed dipping in and out of it, though it wasn't a book I could read in one go.

This book is engrossing. It sets out how and why of how the current US Government got into power and the impact this has had on the rest of the world and suggests a route map to a more constructive and positive future. I can't say I enjoyed it because of the subject matter, but I would buy another Naomi Klein book because I like how she writes and explains challenging subjects.

Unfortunately, I read this book back in 2017 but completely forgot to upload a review on here, so can't remember exactly what I was going to say about it!

Unfortunately, I read this a bit late for it to be useful. It's very much a state of the nation piece, addressing how Trump came to power in the US, what effects he had and then the push-back against him - which doesn't sadly seem to have helped much, a few years on. This is likely to be a useful political history source in the future as it pulls together a lot of information, but I've read more about all of this since this was published.

If you have been left reeling by the events of 2016 - both Brexit and Trump - and have been asking yourself, and those around you, "how the hell did this happen?" then this book gives you the answers. And they are shocking. None of this came out of nowhere, and Klein lays bare, factually and in the harsh light of day, how we got to this place (the role of superbrands in politics is particularly frightening. It will leave you questioning whether democracy still exists at all!). The key takeaway for me is that feeling shocked by the state of the world is not enough - being against Trump and Brexit is not enough. Start advocating for the world you DO want. Speak up for what you DO want to see. Support the politicians who ARE doing good things (there are some of them left). Be the change you want to see, support the change you want to happen. Doing nothing is no longer an option. Because look what happens when people do that!

Absorbing, shocking but also surprisingly empowering, this is the book to read if you've been despairing at the state of the world and want to fight back.

This makes for a speedy and accessible read, demanding that the audience engage with a programme of action as opposed to mere passive objection in the face of politics that have created the Trump Presidency. A stalwart call to resistance, Klein backtracks through time to 9/11, discussing the death of social movements for change when the towers came down, and the fear generated from the attacks created a security bubble where resistance is both futile and unwelcome against a perceived 'bigger' enemy.

Definitely a thought provoking read, no less relevant more than halfway through Trump's presidency.

Quite an interesting book with sound insight to the current American Political sphere. She writes in response to Trumps election as President and gives insight to what needs to change to ensure the right person is elected next time.

I think that at this point no one doubts Klein's journalism skills. This is yet another example of her incredible work. "No Is Not Enough" should be a required reading but in the current political situation the idea's almost laughable. What I can do though is try to get as many people as possible to read this.

I have read each of Klein's major tomes of capitalism-is-the-worst-long-live-grassroots-activism so I was prepared to be depressed but No is Not Enough is possibly the shortest, least theoretical ones I've read and thus feels more accessible than much of Klein's other work

Not mu usual genre of reading, however having been totally amazed at the political landscape in the US, felt that this would help give me an insight. It was a depressing read at times as I wonder how the world is changing in what feels for the worse, however Klein offers a subjective view and call to action. Definitely a thought provoking read

I used to Like Naomi Klein but she's getting full of herself and her bias and lack of fact checking objectivity is showing.

A very interesting, enlightening and easy read about the impact of Trump politics on the world (though very Trump/US centric). And more importantly Naomi Klein offers hope for the world in her suggestions for how we might turn this around with a more positive approach.

No Is Not Enough is an honest and unflinching look at how on earth we got into this mess of Trump and Brexit, with decades of social and political progress seemingly destroyed in the space of 18 months. The thing that keeps it from being an incredibly depressing read by not only explains how we got here (rightly, Klein identifies cabals of big business determined to push through their extreme neo-liberal agenda at any cost) but also, crucially, how we - the people - can resist and push back. An important and timely read.

It's interesting to compare this book against others that attempt to explain the current political climate - many others are able to diagnose the problems but few develop a solution to those problems in the way that Naomi Klein is able to. And she does so convincingly - this is an effective call to action, and one that inspires hope for the future.

Admirably, Naomi Klein has managed to create an optimistic book about the most depressing political scenario. Impressive and astute about the Trump administration and how we got here.

This is a fascinating look at American politics and the immediate aftermath of the election of the 45th President. Klein argues clearly and argues well - for change and for a recognition that the current place the world finds itself in, is seriously damaged and damaging. Ms Klein says "that Trump, extreme as he is, is less an aberration than a logical conclusion - a pastiche of pretty much all the worst trends of the past half century." She believes that the world we need won't be won by just replacing the current occupant of the White House, as there are many similar characters at the top of the "establishment".

One positive outcome of the current mess is the number of unheard voices suddenly speaking up for themselves. People who would never previously have put themselves on the line are now outraged enough that they are stepping forward. We do indeed live in interesting times and Ms Klein is very adept at capturing them.

This book is recommended for anyone trying to understand what is happening in America and interested in thinking how to change things.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley in return for an honest review.

A great book. The first thing I'd like to say is that, unlike many books in its category, this book is accessible to all. It does not use dense, difficult-to-understand language or jargon. Furthermore, I found the author's writing style to be engaging yet simple. The book presents an argument of the author Naomi Klein's opinions and theories, particularly regarding Donald Trump. It is a loud call for action and change.
