I received a free electronic copy of this novel from Netgalley, Lisa Jackson, and Zebra Books in exchange for an honest review. Thank you all for sharing your hard work with me.

This is the second of the series Wyoming, written by Lisa Jackson, Nancy Bush, and Rosalind Noonan. Ominous is, however, completely stand alone. Keeping secrets never pays off in the end. You might save yourself some embarrassment and shame but the persons usually most rewarded by secrets are those perpetrators of sin and shame. And this is a lesson well told by these three New York Times best selling authors. Thank you ladies, for an excellent beach read this summer. I will be watching for more novels set in Wyoming, this most beautiful summer retreat.

A great novel about pure evil hiding in plain sight. Three teenage girls share a terrible secret and burden for over 15 years and the predator lies in wait. All suspense and psychological fans will enjoy this book.

A book you cannot put down... well written and neatly tied together with the three main character's voices and perspectives. A great afternoon read.

One summer night 3 girls decide to sneak out and go skinny dipping, even tho young girls have disappeared from the area. Someone is watching. He manages to separate one girl from the others and rapes her, but the others go back to find their friend. All 3 manage to escape. They all vow to never tell what happened that night and all 3 leave town soon after. Now 15 years later Ruth, Shiloh and Kat are back in town. The body of one of the missing girls from 15 years ago turns up and another goes missing. Is this the same guy they got away from 15 years ago?

This is the second book in the Wyoming series but could stand on its own. It is very well written with great characters, plenty of suspense, romance, a long list of suspects and a great ending. You won't be able to put it down. I didn't guess who the bad guy was, the author had you looking in multiple directions. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Very well written story, with a fantastic plot. Lots of characters. I enjoyed the book although felt the beginning dragged on slightly but once it picked up it was good

Ominous is an outstanding thriller written by authors Lisa Jackson, Nancy Bush and Rosalind Noonan. It is the second book in the Wyoming series but reads well as a stand-alone. Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the advance copy.

3.5 stars

Fifteen years ago three teenage girls went skinny dipping. One was a detective's daughter, one was a minister's daughter, and one was a wild child. Someone was watching them. Someone attacked them. Two girls ran, and the third was assaulted. Luckily they all escaped with their lives. They made a pact to never tell anyone what happened.

All three girls left town as soon as they possibly good. Not all of them told anyone they were leaving. Several girls had disappeared and never seen again.

Today ... all three of these girls have returned to their hometown for one reason or another. They've all tried to leave the past behind, but the past has a way of catching up to them. Each of them receive a copy of a picture taken 15 years earlier .... when they were skinny dipping. Only one person could have taken that picture.

HE is watching ... waiting for the opportunity to grab each one of them. They hurt him when they got away ... they denied him what he wanted most. Now he wants vengeance.

WARNING: EXPLICIT SEX, BONDAGE, RAPE, VIOLENCE

This was a typical Jackson/Bush story line. It's well written, with lots of characters and red herrings. Ever after romance is in abundance. The hunt for the rapist is what kept me reading. The ending wasn't that big of a surprise except for the bad guy's identity.

Many thanks to the authors / Kensington Books - Zebra / Netgalley for the advance digital copy of OMINOUS. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Wowza I liked this book...hard to put it down. I haven't read the first in the series and I was fine (I will read the first now). I've always like Lisa Jackson, her mystery/romance has the right balance. There were a lot of characters but she writes so they aren't difficult to keep track of and they fell into place. It was a quick read. Girls have disappeared. Three teenage girls go skinny dipping, someone is watching, taking pictures. Something happens (no I can't tell you). Two girls leave town and come back 15 years later. Another woman disappears. The three each get a picture of their teenage skinny dipping...OMG just read it...enjoy!

Ruth, Shiloh and Kat were the best of friends growing up, spending all their time together, but their childhood innocence is shattered after a violent act one summer day. Now adult, Shiloh and Ruth have returned to Prairie Creek. Kat never left and is now a deputy and is worried that the disappearance of a local girl is somehow connected to that violent night fifteen years earlier. The man who tried to take everything from them never left either, and he has a score to settle with the three women he considers the “ones who got away”. He intends to make sure that this time he is successful. Jackson, Bush and Noonan are some of the most popular romantic suspense writers publishing today and it was interesting to see hoe they came together. The combination was good enough that I hope they attempt another book together
