ARC given by publisher/Netgalley in exchange for honest review

This book is the first I have read by this author, though she has been on my TBR for ages. I am glad to say that, even though I did not read this series in order, since this is the first one, I am glad I started with this one. It was a good opening to this author, and has definitely made me want more from her. So you can bet I most definitely plan to hopefully start this series from the beginning.

I really enjoyed it. Not only was this a first time author for me, but also the first Bear shifter book I've ever read. Sure, I've read Wolf shifter before, but that is about it. But I was hooked on Bear from teh get go. His broodiness and attitude fit being well...a bear.

The pace of this book was perfect, and kept me turning pages long after I probably should've set my kindle down. The plot was a bit much, but the world building and characters was very much likeable. Very glad I read.

Rebecca Zanetti has done it again. Wicked Bite lives up to it's name. I can safely say, I may have had a crush on Bear since we met him in Wicked Ride. I might have even been a little annoyed at Zanetti for making him such a minor character in Wicked Kiss, along with making him sick. All that is now forgiven because WOW did she do it right!

I wondered about Nessa, when we met her in Wicked Kiss. There was definitely more than meets the eye with her. One of the signs of a well written and created character, is that they evoke an emotional response from you. Oh, let me tell you, I wanted to shake or smack Nessa more than once during this book! Her AND Bear, if we're going to be honest.

This is a must read for anyone that has enjoyed the Realm Enforcers. The action is fast paced, the plot is tight and the characters are engaging. Oh and did I mention it's HOT?!?!? Where can I get a grizzly alpha of my own?

I just love Bear; he’s a loveable grumpy shifter that has always been a favorite of mine and a mystery. I always wondered what his story was and man it’s better than I would have ever imagined. Bear has many hidden secrets that come out in the previous book. I would recommend reading this series in order, not that you couldn’t read this as a standalone but simply because this series is really good.

Nessa is a Coven Nine witch or ex-Coven Nine member, Bear is not your typical social shifter, he does not like witches (well, except for his sister) shifters can only take one shape he took a second shape and is now damaged from it, as in its killing him. Nessa is hoping Bear will help her with a problem she has, she is one of the few witches that can’t create fire, and in exchange she will help heal him. Nessa wants Bear to mate her in hopes she can retain fire but she doesn’t want a bond?

Nessa is full of secrets and Bear is an open no secrets if-you-ask-the-right-questions shifter. He likes the truth and doesn’t like to play games unlike the witches who like lies and are very deceitful by nature. Even though Nessa has many secrets I do like her in all, she is a strong female, smart, and I just love her sass! What is the true reason Nessa wants to mate? There is definitely some chemistry with these two. But will secrets and lies keep these two apart? If you like PNR this is a great series, Amazon has a book bundle for the first three books on sale. I would highly suggest reading them.

Another hit from my go to author for paranormal romance! She hits it Every.Single.Time!

The man. The myth. The legend. Bear? Yeah, if you're like me, you fell into instant like with him from his first appearance and that has steadily grown to love for his character. This is his story.

Bear, leader of the Grizzly MC (how apropos, right?), is a good man, loyal to his friends, and one any woman would be lucky to find herself on the other side of a mating with. All that makes it even harder on Nessa to follow through with her intention.

Nessa, a witch literally, not attitude wise, well... *wink*, is focused on finding the drug lord responsible for killing others of her kind. But Bear is so much more than she expected. Her plan, essentially, is to use him, even going so far as to mate him to regain her powers. Harsh, right?

Bear can understand what would drive a person to do anything they could to help others, and find justice for those that couldn't be saved, but when he's relegated to a part of the mission, his willingness to help isn't so freely offered.

Bear doesn't particularly trust the sexy witch. Want her with almost every fiber of his being though? Yes, and that makes her even more dangerous because she has a hold on him that is hard to fight, if he even truly wanted to. Thankfully, for Bear's sake, the pull he has on Nessa is just as strong.

Can Bear and Nessa work together to defeat those responsible for Apollo? Will they be able to resist their urges for one another? Can they remain in such close proximity and not give in to the mating urge that grows between them with every moment shared? Are Bear and Nessa safe? What are they willing to sacrifice to ensure those susceptible to Apollo are free of It? Will Bear and Nessa defeat the evil trying to take over? Is there a HEA for them? Are you prepared to say good-bye to this fantastic series?

One-click now and follow along as Bear finally finds his Honey (I couldn't resist. LOL) and the journey toward their future begins.

Bears are cuddly, friendly creatures, aren’t they? Well in this story Bear is a shifter, leader of Grizzly motorcycle club and has a reputation for being a grumpy loner. At the start of the story he’s been out of touch with his pack whilst trying to heal himself following something he did in an earlier book (sorry, I think saying what would be a spoiler and I don’t want to write any of them!). Nessa Lansa is a healer witch and she’s turned up supposedly to help heal Bear after being asked to do so by his half sister. However, she has secrets of her own and the sexual tension between the Bear and Nessa is off the scale!

What a brilliant concluding story this proved to be! Nessa is trying to discover - and stop - whoever is distributing the Apollo drug which is killing witches and all her intel points to the Grizzlies. However, after meeting Bear, she’s pretty certain he isn’t involved, but if he isn’t, who is? He doesn't quite trust Nessa but he knows she's his mate and is determined to protect her . . .

This is an action packed conclusion to a brilliant paranormal suspense series. It involves shifters, demons and witches (along with others, even a vampire!). As peace treaties are threatened, there’s also double crossing and a surprise betrayal before the story reaches its fabulous finale! This story draws together all the threads from the earlier stories and weaves them into an enthralling, fast paced and highly entertaining conclusion. Quite simply, I loved it and have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who enjoys this mix of genres!

I requested and was given a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

3 1/2 stars

Interesting read but when I requested it I didn't know it was book #5. I was kind of lost with all the other characters that I was supposed to know.

Bear was a hot shifter and a picture of a dominate alpha. He didn't take any crap. The twist in the plot made him look not too smart though. Granted it was one hell of a twist, but I thought Bear would have figured it out faster.

Nessa was tough, but I didn't like her lying to Bear all the time. He always seemed straight forward with her and she never was. I didn't like her snotty attitude about money. Her and Bear seemed so different.

Ok story lots of action, lust, betrayal, and twists. Kept you reading.

Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

If you ever read one of Rebecca Zanetti books. You will know that she tries to engage the reader from the start, and won’t let you go until the very last page is turned.
Only a few shifters can turn into more than one animal. It is known that you should choose the dominant animal and only the dominant to become. However, to save his sister life from the council, Bear had to go against nature and turn into his alternate form a Dragon. Which we later learn has shortened his life span, and now only one person can save him…. Tessa Lansa. Or so she tells Bear. However, her healing him comes with a price. He must mate with her for life.

When it comes to secrets, no one is better at keeping than a Witch. Tessa knows all too well about secrets, for she is caring one around that not too many people knows about. It’s one that she must keep from Bear, which it’s becoming harder and harder to keep.
Wicked Bite was everything that I hoped for with Bear’s story. Action with a lot of romance. The chemistry was topped with sassy banter among our intrepid lovers. The final revelation of who’s behind the making of the drug that is killing witches and humans is finally revealed.

Wicked Bite is a great stand-alone title, but is even better if you read the titles in the order of publication.

5 stars!

This is the fifth and final book in the Realm Enforcers series, and holy hell what a ride! Action-packed, exciting, suspenseful and intriguing with a kickass heroine, an alpha hero who will melt your heart, and a scorchingly hot romance that is full of intensity. I freaking loved it!

Each of the books in this series feature a different couple, but there is a continuous, overarching storyline and this is definitely not a standalone. The series began with the Enforcers – powerful witches tasked with protecting the Council of the Coven Nine (the witch ruling body) – investigating a deadly drug. Through four books we have watched the Enforcers desperately search to find who is producing Apollo and put a stop to it, while also battling the intricacies of witch politics, all while falling in love. This book brings the series full circle with fight coming back to US soil and an unlikely hero in Bear.

Bear is a shifter and the alpha leader of the grizzly nation. When he was first introduced in the Dark Protectors series I pictured a grizzled old man, but he is anything but! Though a century old, he looks 30, but his life has been a difficult one and he is a bit of a cranky bastard who prefers his solitude. He has created his own family of sorts and is the President of a shifter-only MC, and he and his club have been the target of DEA investigations as being involved with the production of Apollo. The last few books of the series saw Bear sucked into witchy business, and he has been through a hell of time, leaving him injured both physically on a soul-deep level, and he fears that his time is running out. And then beautiful Nessa Lansa shows up, offering him what may be his only solution.

She looked him in the eyes. “If I heal you then I want something in return.”
He dropped his hand …“You wanna make a deal?”
She nodded, her shoulders going back. “Yes.”
To live, he’d do almost anything. “What do you want?”
She met his gaze, her eyes deadly serious. “If I heal you, then we mate. For life.”

Oh hell yeah!

Nessa is a witch with healing powers who briefly sat on the Council. She has searched Bear out both as a favour to a friend, and for what she hopes may be a mutually beneficial, though strictly professional, mating. She offers to heal him, and he makes her more powerful. It’s a win-win situation. But there is something more behind her plans.

I freaking love this relationship! Initially full of snark and animosity, Bear wants nothing to do with Nessa or her offer of mating, but the chemistry between them is undeniable, and it sets up a sensational dynamic.

“Bear? … Let’s reach an agreement.” Her voice remained level only through supreme effort.
He straightened, and his smile was almost lazy. “Baby? You wanna fuck, bite, brand, and mate....but not bond. Do I have it right?”

Adding to the awesomeness of this setup, from almost the beginning of their time together they become targets and are constantly on the defence against unknown assailants. There are explosions, gun fights, hand-to-hand fighting and even missiles and air strikes! Yes, it’s all happening, and Bear and Nessa are right in the middle of it, and the intensity of their situation brings out Bear’s protective side and only works to bring them closer together as the sexual tension builds to epic levels.

He released her and traced one finger – just one finger – across her cheekbone, nose and down her jaw. “I’ve never had anybody that was just mine. All mine.”
His touch ignited her skin, heating all the way down her body. A pulse set up between her legs. She kept perfectly still. “I have no intention of being all yours. If this happens, after a lot of negotiation, then we’ll go our separate ways.”
His hands caressed down, easily enclosing her entire neck. “You really think that’s how a mating happens with a shifter? Any shifter? Much less with me?” His hold was infinitely gentle, but the strength in those fingers, in that broad palm, couldn’t be denied. “You chose an alpha, baby. Head of the entire grizzly nation.”
“Aye,” she whispered, her trachea moving against his hold.
His head lowered solely, deliberately, his molten gaze trapping hers. “Do you honestly think I’d let my mate go? Ever?”

But it’s a hard road for them as they figure out what they want from each other. Secrets, betrayals and plots are uncovered, the emotion is intense, and there’s literally not a moment to rest as it all plays out. I was glued to my kindle as twist after twist was revealed and, with a little help from friends old and new, they draw closer to the final battle, falling harder and harder for each other along the way.

He studied her, his eyes unreadable, his entire body one long solid line. Gone was the dangerously teasing cranky Bear. This was the real Bear, and he was way too primitive. This was too much. He was way too much. She’d overestimated her power and strength, and she’d underestimated his.

The romance is gorgeous. Of course the sexy time is scorching, but there’s a deeper emotional connection that is there between Bear and Nessa, and I loved watching it develop. It’s natural and realistic, and I could feel the shift of their emotions, and I thought the love story was really beautifully done.

He was a simple guy. She was good, and she made the world better by being in it. She made his world a lot better. So that meant she belonged here.

Bear and Nessa are such fantastic characters, and I was so impressed by them as a couple. Fans of the series will already be totally in love with Bear, and his alphaness is on full display in this book, and seeing him balance his pure (totally hot) possessive need with his protectiveness and his vulnerability as he experiences love for the first time is just gorgeous. And Nessa is just perfect for him – strong, brave, highly intelligent and a total badass herself, she isn’t afraid to stand up to him, but her big heart also proves to be exactly what he needs. I absolutely love them together!

His life had been calm and colorless before she arrived. Now it was chaos filled with color.

There are some light moments which keep things fun – Bear and Nessa’s interplay is highly entertaining, and ‘the boys’ (Garrett and Logan) are great as always. I also loved the chance to catch up with Nick and Simone, as well as some classic Dage cameos. Fans of this and the Dark Protector series will love it!

The lightness, romance, action and intrigue was perfect, with everything interwoven to create a strong, solid read that I absolutely loved. A wonderful finish for a great series. I’m excited for whatever Rebecca Zanetti has for us next.

5 stars.

This is such a great paranormal romance series. I haven't read all the other books in this series and I don't feel as if this I was completely lost, but I probably would have enjoyed this even more if I had read the previous installments.

I love how Zanetti writes her characters. So many other books in this genre have cookie cutter characters with no depth. Not in this. We see flaws, uniqueness, layers, and more. The two main characters really fit together well and make a great couple.

I do feel the mystery part of this was a bit predictable, but it didn't make me enjoy this any less. There is quite a bit of steam, but it doesn't get too cheesy or gagtastic.

This is a great paranormal romance and fans on the genre should really read this series. I do recommend starting with her Dark Protector books first as this is a spin-off series.

Bear is the leader of the Grizzly MC and the Alpha of the Grizzly nation. And despite his laid back attitude, he is all alpa. Nessa is a smart, independent, tough witch. Witches are not Bear's favorite people, except for his sister. So how can Nessa convince Bear that they should work together to solve their problems.
There is lots of action, suspense, and secrets. Bear and Nessa's relationship starts off as a convenience but quickly turns into something more complex. Then Bear's laid back Grizzly only territory will never be the same.

I am loving the bears this year!

This is definitely my favorite story of the series and not just because we finally have an answer about who is making the drug and why. The connection between Nessa and Bear make this story wonderful. It is funny that my favorite stories so far this year include bear shifters and they couldn’t be more different. Valentin (Silver Silence) was laid back and sweet while Bear was more the grizzly shifter being all cranky and gruff but both have ranking high with me.

The Enforcers had to return to Ireland after the happenings in Wicked Burn and Wicked Kiss. Former councilwoman from the Coven 9, Nessa Lansa arrived in Seattle to take up the investigation. She also agreed to help her friend Simone and check on her half-brother Bear McDunphey and help him heal from his unfortunate shifting incident which bear subjected himself to save his sister in Wicked Burn. Shifters can only shift into one form but with one parent a bear shifter and one parent a dragon shifter, Bear sought his inner dragon and protected Simone. Now the damage which has been done is soul deep and try as he might, his shifter ability can’t seem to heal the damage.

Nessa is rare among her witch brethren. She can’t create fire. Her ability is to heal. She is willing to heal Bear, but she wants something in return. She hopes that if she mates with Bear, his dragon half might help her gain the ability to create fire like the other witches and she will be able to protect herself.

Bear agrees to help her track down the Apollo manufacturer in exchange for healing him, but he isn’t interested in mating, especially not to a witch. Bear agrees to introduce Nessa to his brother, a full-blooded dragon, and maybe she can convince him mate with her. After meeting the grouchy bear shifter in person, Nessa starts to realize that her plan sounded better in theory and does her best to try to heal Bear.

But, as expected, their attraction quickly grows and as Bear begins to feel more like himself, he decides he doesn’t want Nessa to mate with anyone else. Now, he just has to convince her that mating would be the best thing for both of them.

Grouchy and domineering as Bear is, he and Nessa are sort of sweet together which completely makes the story.

We do finally get some answers in this story so it is bitter sweet. Yet it makes me think what the hell were those “investigators” doing for the last four stories where they really had nothing to show for the months they were here investigating. A lot of shutting down distribution lines, but no one ever knew anything. The drugs were being manufactured and were ready to ship out so the witches didn’t really get anywhere.

I also find that I am going to miss Garret and Logan the most as this series and the Dark Protectors have come to an end. The next generation are all grown up and these two make a hell of a team of soldiers and fun trouble makers. Maybe it is time for their own spinoff series since they have made allies in all the factions.

BEAR here! Shifter BEAR is getting his turn to find love, and this story will not disappoint you!

Fantastic story line, easy to follow characters. I thought the pace of the story was perfect. I love this author!

As she hunts for a drug lord killing her fellow witches, all Tessa Lansa’s instincts point to the Grizzly motorcycle club. That might be because their leader, Bear, is the strong, silent shifter type: warm brown eyes and more muscle and alpha male than any woman can ignore. Which makes Tessa’s plan to seduce and betray him all the more dangerous . . .

Bear doesn’t trust the curvy, blue-eyed witch. But Tessa can heal the injuries that sap his strength. And since he can’t stop thinking of her lush body and teasing smile, her plan to mate him to reclaim her own power is highly tempting. Just one problem. Once a desire this wild is loose, no one will ever control it . .

Review:

I have not read the other books in this series, so I cannot say how it relates to the others. I will say that I did not feel lost at all reading out of order.

I really liked how the story started out with Tessa coming to Bear with an offer to heal him in exchange for a mating. Things get crazy from there on out. I won't give it away because really you just don't know who to trust on who is out kill Tessa or the Apollo. I loved Tessa and Bear together. They were fun and sexy to read. Both are super intelligent, capable and just plain likable together and separately.

I have read this Author many times and this like the others was expertly written. Entertaining reading with action, drama, intrigue and romance. Now, to find the time to go back and read others in the series.

Bear hurt himself defending his sister, giving in to his Dragon side, when he´s a bear shifter. The damage isn´t healing, and now he´s prepared for the worst.
Until Tessa comes along..
Tessa is one of the few witches who can´t protect herself with fire, but she´s got an idea, quid pro quo, help him heal and get fire in return. Now to make him take the deal.
At the same time the threat with Apollo is back, threatening all witches, and they seem to hone in on Tessa. Can Bear save her, and get to the bottom of it as well?
Paranormal action, suspense and smutty fluff in an awesome combo, love this series!

I love this series but I have to say this was my favorite! I absolutely loved Bear and Tessa. They were a perfect match and throw in lots of action, a resolution to a plot that’s been open for awhile, a very hot romance and plenty of humor and you have Wicked Bite, an amazing book!

I admit it – I love the Realm. There isn’t a character I have disliked and I love all the politics and interactions between the witches, demons, shifters and vampires. Although we’ve met Bear in the previous stories who was known for being anti-social and just a bit crazy we didn’t really get to see the depths of his character and a little bit of a soft side with Nessa. In this book we really got to dig into his layers and there was nothing about him I didn’t love. Bear was also protective and alpha and a bit raw just like you want from a shifter.

“Why are we in bed together?” “I was tired, and you were snuggly.” His breath brusherd her ear.

“Do you think I ended up leading the grizzly nation because I always win the July chili cook-off?

Nessa comes off as very straight laced and proper but it doesn’t take long to see that there is a lot more to her. She is the perfect match for Bear. She’s tough, loyal and she pushes Bear enough that he doesn’t hold back. She’s also a witch so she is keeping secrets and trying to manipulate things behind the scenes.

Nessa and Bear were perfect together. So many times I like one MC more than the other but in this case I loved them both. They made each other stronger and they also challenged each other. I loved seeing the softer side of Bear when he fell for Nessa and the sweet side of Nessa when she was with Bear. We also had a bunch of cameos which I loved. My two favorite characters Logan and Garrett were back in this story along with some scenes with Dage and Emma and Nick and Simone. It was fun to see the vampires, demons, shifters and witches working together.

Demons and vampires. Bear couldn’t breathe. “There are witches on my perimeter. Now demons and vampires close in. Oh God. It’s purgatory.

I really loved the humor in this book that lightened the mood with all the violence and action that was happening. Every time Dage gets upset because people are surprised he knows something just cracks me up.

“How did you find out so quickly?” They hadn’t gone public yet. Dage’s chin lowered. “The. King. Me. I’m the damn king.”

Somehow I did figure out who the villain was but it didn’t lessen my enjoyment at all and I imagine it will take some people by surprise. I really liked that we got a resolution to the overall plot but can only hope/pray that doesn’t mean the end for books in the Realm! These books are just too amazing and I’m not at all ready to say goodbye!

Bottom Line: An amazing, humorous, hot, action-filled, fast paced book with in-depth characters and fun cameos from previous books! If you’re a fan of the series don’t miss this one and if you haven’t started I don’t know what you’re waiting for – pick up the first Realm book and dive in.

Things have been coming to this moment through the whole Realm Enforcers series. Who is making and selling the drugs to kill off all the witch nation and why? And look at that, its Bear’s story, too. Can it get any better?
Review

As I said, this is Bear’s story and is the fifth book in the Realm Enforcers series. The series has changed out romance leads with each book, but the characters are all connected as is the main mystery plot thread so it is best read in order. And if you are just coming to these, it works even better read after the conclusion of the Dark Protectors series since its a spin-off with some crossover characters.

But back to Bear… the loner, secretive and tough alpha shifter of the Bear Nation and head of the Grizzlies MC. Bear has been an intriguing side character since book one. Slowly his secrets have unwound throughout the series and now he encounters a female with a wild proposal and enough secrets to match and raise the ante on his own.

Nessa, too, is not a newbie to the series. She has acted as a Coven Nine Witch Council leader and now she is pursuing a person mission along with a secret mission for her people. I enjoyed how she had this straight up plan and confidently waltzed into Bear’s life to execute it only to discover that cool and collected and well planned she might be, but she was way out of her depth and had met her own match.

Up until this book, I had no idea who was behind the drug making and distribution that was killing off humans and witches alike. I guessed wrongly a few times. Wicked Bite finally foreshadowed enough that I caught on before Bear, Nessa, and everyone else- and it was a shocker.

The romance was set against an action packed story like most of this author’s books which I love. And I really loved this pairing. Bear has been a favorite character through the whole series so I really wanted a good match for him. Nessa and Bear had sparks. They both have secret pasts and keep to themselves in ways. Bear has always been the one to give and make sacrifices and now he has found a female who will give to him and notices his needs. Nessa has found a male who is not intimidated by her and accepts her as is.

I only had one niggle. I was not in favor of the physicality of their ‘courtship’. Most of their love scenes came with hand to hand combat instigated by Nessa like it was foreplay. I make allowances for the fact that these are paranormals, but the violence when you’re not in danger and only trying to prove your a big bad gal or that he was a shifter so liked it rough so you have to kick him in the head to get his attention didn’t quite do it for me.

That said, this book totally lived up to my expectations of Bear’s story and the answer to the big plot thread through the series. I’m not sure if this is the end of the series since the series arc wound up. I wouldn’t mind if it kept going with a new series arc and taking on some of the younger characters. But, either way, this was a good one and I definitely recommend it to paranormal romance fans who love a strong and passionate action plot.

Yay! I'm so glad that we got Bear's story, I've been looking forward to that grumpy anti-social bear's story since we first met him in the series. And it was everything I was hoping for and more. Nessa was his perfect match and even though they had a pretty rough start I was loving them from the first page. Bear and Nessa are opposites in a lot of ways but they also had a lot in common, both looking for something more, to be a part of a bigger family and to have someone to call their own. I loved them both so much. This book is filled with the non-stop action I've come to expect with this series The pace is always fast but never rushed, and that's important I think. This one had some twists and turns that I kind of saw coming but was hoping I was wrong. And we get to see lots of our favourite characters from previous books including Simone and Nick, and my favourites Logan and Garret (Who I really hope will be getting books of their own at some point) Overall I loved this book and I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a great PNR series.
(Read the Dark Protectors series first though, its just as good promise!)

WICKED BITE is the fifth installment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult REALM ENFORCERS paranormal, romance series-a spin off from her Dark Protectors series. This is bear shifter Beauregard ‘Bear’ McDunphy, leader of the shifter nation, and witch healer Nessa Lansa’s story line. WICKED BITE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing investigation and premise throughout. Bear’s story line has been developing for several installments. Several characters cross over from the author’s Dark Protector series for cohesion and familiarity.

SOME BACKGROUND: Known as Apollo, the deadly injectable designer drug of ‘Planekite’ renders its’ users in a state of god-like euphoria with super human strength, eventually leaving the abusers a seething mess of pyrotechnic ash. Apollo is also one of the few drugs able to destroy and kill the witches, and the Grizzly motorcycle club is under investigation by the Coven Nine Witch’s Council as well as the supernatural world’s elite police force.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Bear and Tessa) WICKED BITE follows the ongoing search to ferret out the person(s) responsible for making and supplying the world with the designer drug known as Apollo-a drug known to kill witches and humans alike. At the end of WICKED KISS Bear McDunphy was struggling with his supernatural abilities, and thusly our hero had gone into seclusion, remaining in his bear form, in the hopes of healing what was tearing him apart. Enter former Coven Nine council member Nessa Lansa, with an offer to heal Bear for a ‘price’. What ensues is the building relationship between Nessa and Bear, the continuing hunt for the person(s) trafficking Apollo, and the struggle to stay one step ahead of more than one enemy trying to take down Nessa Lansa.

Nessa has gone into hiding claiming someone has targeted her for her abilities but more than one enemy is hoping to destroy the woman with whom Bear is falling in love. Bear McDunphy is a bit of a loner, an over protective, grumpy alpha shifter but as the leader of the shifter nation Bear is all about the take down and protection of the people he loves. Currently Bear struggles with his supernatural abilities-a dual persona that threatens to tear him apart. His relationship with Nessa struggles with our heroine’s need to keep secret the real reason for her questionable visit but it is Bear’s need to protect and claim Nessa as his mate that places our couple in the direct line of fire.

The relationship between Bear and Nessa begins as an arrangement: Bear is in desperate need of a supernatural healer, and Nessa claims to need Bear’s ‘protection’ against an unknown enemy. Nessa’s continuous lies and betrayal set into motion a relationship battle when the truth is revealed but a truth that pushes Bear a step too far. The $ex scenes are dramatic and intense-Bear has issues of trust and his mate’s ongoing betrayal brings out the animal in our story line hero.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many of the characters introduced in the author’s Dark Protectors series including Bear’s half-sister Simone Brightston and her mate demon Nick Veis; vampire and demon Garrett Kayrs and Logan Kyllwood; ruler of the Realm King Dage Kayrs and his mate Emma: as well as Bear’s second in command Lucas, and several members of the Grizzy MC, Nessa’s second in command Jasper and her uncle Boondock. There is a hint towards the introduction of Bear’s extended family-I am hoping for another potential spin off or the continuation of the author’s Realm Enforcers.

WICKED BITE brings together shifters, demons, witches and vampires in a war to protect the supernatural realm. The premise is engaging, intriguing and energetic; the characters are sassy, passionate and dynamic; the romance is tenacious, challenging and aggressive. WICKED BITE is a revealing, fast paced and spirited story line by Rebecca Zanetti.

Grumpy bears, witches with agendas, threats alleviated, amazing story telling, and romance that sizzles and pops are all found in Wicked Bite by Rebecca Zanetti. It is fitting that the conclusion to the Apollo danger happens in Bear’s story. It is also fitting that Mr. Grumpy is not happy with all the other paranormal creatures that are showing up too. But boy, do they make this story intriguing and interesting. It hard not to love a good Bear but Nessa, the witch was a harder sell for me. I agree with Bear, witches usually were manipulative. Still, there story is action-packed as well as romantically charged.

I appreciated that Ms. Zanetti gives a suitable conclusion to one over-arching theme without carrying it through a dozen books. Still I am hopeful that this is not the conclusion of the captivating Realm Enforcers Series.
