"Morning was still infant." That line, early in this novel, clued me to keep an eye on the writing for The Jeffries Affair. "Hungry as a junkyard do" was a bit better, but the author does not have a knack for similes. Eventually, his wooden writing had me give up on the novel. Had it started out better I might have stuck to it, but there are so many better written novels out there, I chose to give up, bored a piece of lumber.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

This thriller, which involves the attempt to launder money, is a great read. I found some parts less easy to understand, but white-collar crimes are complicated.
I would recommend.

For years they were best friends. For decades they chose to remain estranged. Now Bryan Jeffries has contacted Matt DiGrande to get reacquainted. The idea excites Matt, but it also sends up showers of red flags. They agreed to keep the past in the past, so what could Jeffries possibly want? And why did he make contact now?

This book was worth my time and will be worth your also. The characters were very well developed and the story was fast paced. It was all you could want from a great author. i am so pleased I was able to receive an advanced viewing of this book.
