It was easy to see how much research, care, and attention went into writing this book. It had the ability to be a fluffy and vague overview of leadership lessons from Paul but instead is filled with biblical context and guidance. I thought the author did an excellent job at what he set out to write and teach: lessons from the early church that we can apply as we lead and influence others today. Paul and His Team is a great book for pastors/other Christian leaders and includes discussion questions at the end of each chapter that make it ideal to use as a study for a group of pastors, church staff, small group leaders, etc.

I loved this book. I loved the thought process of putting together the life of Paul and the people that he had around him as they all did ministry together. I have come to an understanding that some of the best leaders in life have a few people around them that make them better. The truth is, Paul was surrounded by a great team. I think about Barnabas sticking his neck out for Paul early on when no one trusted Paul. I think of Timothy and Titus who were sent to bring healing to churches and their brokenness. Even though Paul gets the attention, as he should, it was his team that accomplished the movement, much like the disciples did around the life of Jesus. Great book and great thoughts went into this. Thank you.

I love to learn as much as I can about the early Church and the beginning of our walk in Grace and the transition from the law. Ryan shows me some new points that excite and challenge some of my assumptions. Also it has raise a question not addressed but like all good teaching is a sign of quality to have question that continue to push us forward. So I recommend this book to you and hope it pushes you in to new thoughts and questions.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in return for a honest review.
