Another warm and well-written offering from Susan Mallery. I'm enjoying this new series a lot more than I thought I would when I first heard about it and more than I did the Fool's Gold books latterly. Second Chance Girl stays with the same small and tight-knit group of characters we met in the previous book. They're engaging and real - if you're prepared to accept a herd of giraffes wandering around the edge of a wedding-destination town. But hey, it's set in the USA. Maybe that sort of thing is commonplace there!

I couldn't put this book down! How great to see Mayor Marsha show up in Happily Inc. Looking forward to hearing more about Millie and her new family as well as what will happen to Ronan.

Happily Inc. is as magical and delightful as Fool's Gold. The story revolves around a lonely giraffe and the efforts made to provide a herd for her. It is intricately woven with romance and two happily ever afters. I loved this book and could not put it down. Susan Mallery has a great talent for dialogue, humor and a love of animals that shines through. This is a town you'll wish to visit and characters who become friends.

This book was everything a romance story should be: fun, moving, emotional, and filled with great characters.
Mathais Mitchell and Carol Lund may just be my favorite Susan Mallery characters to date.
Both have never felt good enough. Mathias, not good enough to live up to his father's talent ( and can I just say how much I hate the father!!!) and Carol because she has never seen herself as the beautiful girl a man would fall in love with -- like her sis is.
You just know these two are destined to be together, but they'll have to go through a whole bunch of heartache and misunderstandings until the do.
Add is a plot line revolving around a giraffe named Millie and a naughty beagle named Sophie, and SECOND CHANGE GIRL is one of the best summer reads for 2017.
5 well deserved stars from me.

I'm a huge fan of Susan Mallery and her newest series, Happily, Inc.. just cements that! The second book in this series, Second Chance Girl, is full of fun and interesting characters, while getting to spend a little time on the savanna.

Mallery does it again with Carol and Mathais's story. She does an excellent job of tying in our older favorite characters from Fools Gold as well as making us believers in Happily Inc. too. Mallery is building a strong supporting cast in this enchanted town and making it a place a reader wants to return to.

Another wonderful heart warming book in the spin off from the Fool's Gold series.
Carol Lund works in the animal preserve her father and uncle own in Happily Inc... the town the Fool's Gold natives, the Mithchell brothers relocated to. Artist Mathias Mitchell struggles with inspiration..except when he watches Carol and her giraffe, Millie.
Carol sister, Violet works with antique buttons and the wedding industry. When Ulrich the Duke of Somerbrooke discovers works of art are missing from the castle and his grandmother is sending packages to Violet, he suspects the worse.
Ms. Mallery has crafted a sweet romance for both sisters, with bits of angst and humor and lots of sweet romance. I loved it, and look forward to Ronan's story eagerly.
I requested and received a NetGalley copy to peruse.

I keep reading this author thinking I must be missing something because she's so popular. I just think she's a little too light on the angst -- I do like for there to be a little trouble on the way to true love -- and a little too quick on the resolutions. And that's my personal preference, so maybe this author isn't for me. I do like the idea of Happily Inc and a business built around weddings... because what romance reader wouldn't? But I'm not in love with any of the characters yet. I particularly didn't like the heroine in this book. You know you're not liking the book when you're seeing scenes between secondary characters and hoping they get a book of their own because they're more entertaining and intriguing than the main characters. There's potential in this series, I just don't think this heroine was strong enough to lead off the series.

oh WOW! Don't pass go without reading this book. Susan Mallery is my hero and this story was fabulous. Answered a lot of questions too.

Another wonderful book by Susan Mallery. Even though it is a new series, characters from Fools Gold do make an appearance. Wonderful setting and characters

A very strange setting for a novel. I guess Mallery is trying to create something similar to Fools Gold since that series is such a success (so of the same elements are there like it being a predominantly female town) but I wasn't exactly on board with the setting and the idea behind this town.
What I really liked was that this was two tales in one, we follow two sisters over a handful of months. It was nice to have a variety of characters even if that meant the the each story didn't get developed as much as we often see.
This is a good beach read. Something that is easy to put down and pick up without the stress of forgetting important details or getting lost. I quite enjoyed it.

And she is back. I am a big Fool's Gold Fan so when this series started I could not be happier. I read the first book and I was very disapointed because I did not love it at all. Not even little bit. This story is book 2 in the series and it is FANTASTIC. I am so glad I stuck with it because this book was beyond wonderful.
If you are a Fool's Gold fan this book has Mayor Marsha, Eddie and Fran, and Del and Maya's wedding. It also has Elaine and Cellouch (I know I spelled that badly). This book is about one of the twins, Mathias. He is the son of C and E. Rowan is also in this book and we see how he is doing with the news that Elaine is not his mother and he is not a twin.
This book is about the Lund family and the two sisters, Carole and Violet. They both live in Happily and both are about to have romances. Carole is good friends and neighbors with Mathias. And Violet is about to get a visit from her teen crush, Duke Ulrich.
Both romances are fantastic and I could not put the book down. I think I found Ulrich and Violets much more sweet and romantic where Carole and Mathias has lots of ups and downs. This was a wonderful romance and I really loved how Happily intertwined the characters from Fool's Gold. What was missing in the first book is here and I beyond loved it.

I was so excited to dive into the Happily Inc. series again!! From the moment I start a Susan Mallery novel, I always know I'm in for a real treat and Second Chance Girl was as fantastic as I had hoped!!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the ladies man Mathias Mitchell and the straight-laced Carol Lund dance around their attraction to one another!! And as it turns out, Mathias has gotten his reputation as a serial dater for the pure reason he has never found anyone he trusted with his heart. And as for Carol, let's just say she's not as buttoned-up as I originally thought!! In Second Chance Girl we also get Carol's sister Violet and Ulrich's story. Ulrich is royalty from England and he comes to Happily, Inc, California on mission, but he is surprised at what he ultimately ends up finding! Two great romance's in one book!!
I have to say I was loving what Susan Mallery had planned from page one! What an unlikely and AMAZING couple Carol and Mathias could make! I kept my fingers crossed that Mathias wouldn't be easily deterred because I knew it would take some serious convincing on his end for Carol to give it a go. As for Ulrich and Violet??? Their story is what fairy tales are made of-- loved it!! Of course you will have to read this addictive novel for yourself, but I will say it was amazing!! Second Chance Girl is a 4.5 star gem that every romance novel fan will swoon over!! Go check it out!!
