In this episode, Team Three travels to Lascaux, France, where cave paintings seem to be responsible for several disappearances.
The story was wonderful and it was wonderful to be back to this series. Even though it wasn’t the best Bookburners episode I’ve read, it was a good way to start the new season and I can’t wait to read more.

Great start to Season Three. This series keeps getting better with each installment and I'm looking forward to reading the rest. I'm planning to purchase a subscription to read the rest of this series as it goes along (rather than waiting for the collected edition). Great story, great format. I hope that more publishers decide to take this format into consideration in the future. Getting bits of a story every week is an awesome thing to look forward to.

The NetGalley blurb was insufficiently clear about what "Bookburners Season 3 Episode 1" is and I was startled when the story ended after about 20 minutes of reading. Not even a novella, it seems that these truly are serials, presented one episode at a time and then compiled and published as a "Season". To appreciate Bookburners Season 3 Episode 1 you need to search out Bookburners Season 1 and Season 2.

I have not done that and so I can only comment that this episode is well written and understandable despite my lack of preparation. However, I am not interested in books like this, especially those featuring multiple writers so I won't be looking at any more of the Bookburner Serials.

I have no idea why this tiny text is offered as a stand-alone on Amazon.

I received a review copy of "Bubbles of Earth (Bookburners Season 3 Episode 1)" by Max Gladstone, Margaret Dunlap, Andrea Phillips, Brian Francis Slattery, Mur Lafferty (Serial Box) through NetGalley.com.

So far I've read each season all at once in the collections. This time I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of the first episode from Netgalley - and it's outstanding. I don't think I'll make the wait for the full collection this time around.

Something in this story just came to life in a way the others haven't. I've enjoyed them immensely, but this story just breathed and gripped me in a way the others didn't quite manage to do.

This series just keeps getting better, and I suspect we're in for the best season yet.

This is a very promising start to the new season. I'm hoping to see more Perry and Grace this year.
