We have the sweetest video of my son G reading this story. It’s truly his favorite book in The Broadway Baby series. The book displays the lyrics of the song in exuberant colors with joyful children illustrated by Miriam Bos and gorgeous fonts. He especially likes the pages where they show the musical notes and I love that he’s getting education and enjoyment in the same place. If you want to introduce your little one to music, run don’t walk and grab a copy of this book. We own a copy of this one too!

I absolutely LOVE the illustrations in this book! Me and my 3 girls loved this book and for some reason they even liked when I sang along with it! My daughter is currently learning the musical scale in school so she liked seeing it represented this way. The colorful vintage illustrations and musical component are what really set this board book apart from others. Well done!!
Thank you, NetGalley for the opportunity to enjoy this book with my children in exchange for an honest review.

The Sound of Music is one of the most beloved musicals and movies of all time. You probably know most of the words to "Do Re Mi." Those who love the musical and the song will enjoy passing it along to their children in this new children's book illustrated by Miriam Bos. Broadway Baby: Do Re Mi puts the lyrics of the wonderful song into storybook form, with colorful pictures.

Even without the context of the musical, it's a wonderful, happy book. The natural teaching opportunity for music teachers is great, too, as the book can be paired with a recording of the song or singing by a teacher. The pictures themselves don't recall the movie, really. The kids aren't so much Von Trapp as they are a multi-cultural "It's a small world after all" group. (I don't mean that as a criticism, but as an observation.) This is such a fun way to introduce children to a classic movie. I defy you to read it to your kids without singing along!

Do Re Mi: All Illustrated Sing-Along to the Sound of Music is based on the song by Rodgers and Hammerstein and a part of the Broadway Baby series, which is illustrated by Miriam Bos.

Within thirty-six pages, this board book introduces the classic song, Do Re Mi, from the musical, The Sound of Music, to little ones. According to the summary text, "It brings the classic song to life with illustrations of lyrics that are easy for kids to read and sing along to. Perfect for the family that loves musicals."

Do Re Mi is geared towards all children, particularly ages three to seven.

Exactly the same as the book from the same range, illustrating 'My Favourite Things', this book deserves the same review; I love the idea of these books - well-known musical songs illustrated in a brilliant way. You cannot help but sing these books aloud! The pages are absolutely crammed with colour, with effective use of large white spaces and equally large and clear text. The illustrations are lovely and sweet. You won't be able to help but read this over and over again!

This book is very sweet. It's a little too sweet for my taste, but I think it will work very well in a library. The illustrations remind me of the Small World ride at Disneyland, which in my case, is not a good thing.

Another success. A different illustrator than My Favorite things, but still perfectly fun pictures to match the lyrics. I hope they do more songs that just ones from the Sound of Music.

I have two teens and two toddlers. My teens and I are a bit broadway obsessed and so the toddlers are too without any other choice. I've already had to read this book to my 5 year old twice and I just got it this morning. The illustrations are beautiful and what a fun way to introduce children to beloved songs from musicals. I hope to see more in this broadway baby series!! I personally will be buying copies of all of them for me.

The Sound of Music is one of my favourite musicals. As I read this book, I sang the song rather than read the words. My grandson (3 years old) kept stopping me to look at the pictures and talk about the illustrations. My granddaughter (1 year old) was moving to the music and was not happy when I stopped. What a great way to teach these songs to little ones. The illustrations are large, very colourful and happy. I can see myself reading/singing this one over and over to the grandchildren. I can see this book being used in a pre-school or kindergarten classroom when learning about music and the notes. A good addition to a school or classroom library.
