In this second Ryan DeMarco mystery, Silvis gives a deeper view into DeMarco's formative years - and it ain't pretty - but it certainly explains his dark moods and distrust of most of humanity. Silvis also weaves and dark and intriguing tale of a cold case involving a serial killer who preys on young black women. DeMarco and Jayme find themselves drawn into the mystery when they visit Jayme's hometown. Their holiday quickly becomes the pursuit of a killer with the help (and hinderance) of townsfolk who want justice done. While I didn't enjoy this book quite as much as TWO DAYS (I missed Thomas Huston's voice), this was a well-written mystery that held my attention and set the groundwork for many future DeMarco mysteries.

have finally realized that it's not true in real life and to be able to totally relate to the story , you need flawed characters ,a slowly evolving story line and a truth that is just out there to be explored by the right set of mind. This book scores well on all the counts. I am not a fan of irregular narration but that alone added so much depth to the story telling. There were very few dull moments in the book and all felt very much in place. Brilliant writing and amazing characterization.

Walking the bones by Randall silvis.
Sergeant ryan demarco is on a healing trip with his new love Jayme. But the bones of 7 young girls are found.
This was a little slow and confusing to begin with but then all of a sudden I couldn't put it down. I wanted to know who the killer was and why. 4*. Netgalley and sourcebooks landmark.

In case you, like me, didn't get enough of Ryan DeMarco in Two Days Gone, he's back in this solid follow up that's every bit as chilling as the first. Ryan and his girlfriend Jayme are off on a road trip that includes a stop in Jayme's hometown for her grandmothers funeral. But the couple won't get time to grieve, instead they're called in to help solve the murder of seven girls, or skeletons, as they have been reduced to. A troubled and angsty hero bring this book to blazing life
