I was very disappointed to discover that this very-promising-sounding book promotes various new age practices like crystal healing. It would have been great if the author had kept things secular as we all need a book that teaches us kindness while we are housebound now that we have a pandemic going on.

When you want to read a book that’s shows you how to be a better person and you want to see if you’re even going in the right direction, this would be the book you would read.

When you want to have hope for humanity and want it to start with yourself, from within, this is a great seed to plant that thought into action. This is a beautiful book that needs way more acclaim than it has gotten. Read this jewel. It's rare!

A refreshing book which highlights that no matter what life deals to you, you have a choice on how you can react. It makes one realise that there is nothing to lose when being kind to others, and there is a whole lot to gain. It is a book which has to go inward and evaluate your life, your actions and your beliefs. A wonderful book for all, especially those wanting to make a difference in the world and just don't know where to begin.

Bravo!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley.

What I took from this book was that no matter what your situation may be, you can still bestow kindness toward others. This book was very will written and gives one many areas to pause and just think. Ms. Neilson also opened my eyes to the fact that an act of kindness does not have to be physical. Read this book and feel warm and see where maybe we as people can learn how to not judge and to things in a more positive manner. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher in return for this heartwarming book in return for my honest reveiew.

When a person becomes limited by a serious illness, it is natural to question your new place in the world, your overall worth, what contributions (if any) you can still make. Anita Neilson does a wonderful job of sharing her personal story, and the lessons she learned as she came to terms with these issues. Lessons which are valuable for everyone.

Anita first covers learning to be kind to yourself, a lesson many of us struggle with! Topics in this section include examining yourself first to eliminate unkind thoughts or habits and replace them with positive ones; celebrating your good qualities; being thankful; and not comparing yourself to others.

Part two deals with Kindness to Others - letting people be who they are without trying to control or change them; inspiring people by being the positive, caring, compassionate person you have learned to be; and nurturing your friendships.

Part three deals with Kindness to the Animal Kingdom, and Part four covers Kindness to the Environment.

Each section offers helpful advice and things that can be done, despite any physical limitations you might have.

I love that this book enforces the message that EVERYONE has value, and that everyone can contribute to making this a better, kinder world no matter what their circumstances.

Many thanks to NetGalley and John Hunt Publishing for allowing me to read and review an e-ARC of this book.

I requested this book from Netgalley as although I am not an invalid physically I do suffer with social anxiety and often struggle to know how I can make a difference to the world.

As I started reading I came across suggested exercises and I groaned as I really don't like that kind of task but I decided to read on. I was so pleased that I did. Anita Neilson offered up quite a number of interesting suggestions that one could easily carry out, explaining effectively that any act carried out in the name of Love goes towards building up the amount of love in the world and decreasing the fear (only she explained it a lot better than that) It made for a really interesting read and encouraged me that even I can make a positive difference even with just my thoughts.

I felt that there were too many pointers to the list of helpful references that jarred with the flow, a number next to each one would indicate that there was more to be found elsewhere.

I felt that the chapters on the environment and animals was possibly put in to make up the number of pages as I personally found this advice rather generic.

To sum up this book has made a difference in my life already and I am sure I will be re-visiting it time and again.

When we began reading this book, we groaned inside. We figured that this would be 136 electronic pages full of floof and useless minutia. But then, we read that reiki is mentioned right off the introduction. Also, there is a beginning exercise on page 10. What? Huh? Really?

Yip. Right into it. No joke.

It's an excellent exercise too.

If one were to get nothing else or to read no further, one would benefit from this solitary silence. We do not wish to spoil anything. We are simply stating that the exercise involves some stillness and really, what substantively spiritual book does not do this? Ummm hmmmm. That's right. Most do.

The book flows well and is worth every penny and every read. If you cannot get a look, you owe it to yourself to search it out once it (hopefully) hits the libraries. Just an outstanding read!

I absolutely love this book. Being a person with limited mobility and unable to drive and do the things I used to do this book was very helpful and something I will refer back to on a regular basis. Any person who is in the same position and is used to being the caregiver instead of the one needing this is going to love this book. Retires are going to love this book. It would be a great gift for someone else or for yourself. This is also great for other people who want to help but have no idea where to start. Teenagers who cannot drive, college kids, and others. The list is long.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
