To enhance and streamline your purchasing processes is the core aim of this book. It might sound simple being a business buyer, but the reality is a lot different if you want to excel at what you are doing. A bad buyer can be a very costly mistake for a company after all!

This is a no-nonsense, helpful book that brings together current best-practice around negotiation and purchasing. This latest intelligence is distilled into something that can benefit beginner and experienced expert alike. You should not assume you know everything and it is quite possible that you can find something deserving of a bit of polish, even if no major changes are necessary to your operation. For many, it may be a major eye-opener and agent for massive change though. It can deserve a wider audience than just those directly involved with purchasing, although its price tag may restrict a wider distribution.

Everything is presented in a logical, clear and structured manner. You can either dig in to a specific process or take a long, luxurious and informative sequential read. Despite being aimed at the business buyer, clearly a lot of the same knowledge can be transplanted into one’s private life, such as purchasing a car or other larger investment. The only criticism is the academic-styling of the book that doesn’t quite reach the mark and it can be a little too onerous in style and tone for the more casual reader as it feels less of a ‘pick up and put down’ book. You need to invest the time to focus on the book and certainly the knowledge it promises is worth this.

Overall, a good book that delivers what it promises.
