This is a lovely little book, lavishly illustrated, perhaps not as in-depth as it could be in some areas, and sometimes states the obvious (verging on patronising?) Nevertheless an interesting look at the Swedish 'art of balanced living'. There is surely a lot to be learned for us Brits in the Scandinavian 'Hygge' and 'Lagom', about less striving for material goods and wanting to have it all, and more about enjoying what we have, slowing down, and trading quantity for quality. While I don't consider myself particularly materialistic, and don't have a frenetic lifestyle I can still find ways to slow down, appreciate the small things and learn to love simplicity.
Thanks to the publisher for an advance digital copy.

I loved the illustrations and images used throughout the book, aswell as the ways in which 'lagom' is explained, ensuring you will find a way to identify with it that is right for you. And that is what is really key here. Lagom is all about finding the right balance for you as an individual and realising that what is right for you is not necessarily right for others. A great read.

I have noticed quite a few books about the Swedish way of life, "Lagom," which doesn't translate directly into English but means something similar to, 'just the right amount.' I was interested to gain a deeper understanding of lagom and how this can translate into my own life.

This book definitely gives a clear insight into what lagom is and how this looks in different aspects of life, from food and friendships to business and sustainability. However, despite being short, there is quite a lot of repetition in this book and it could probably be cut down to around a third of its length.

A really interesting book on the Swedish way of life. I really enjoyed reading it even though it wasn't what I expected. I have just read a book on Hygge and thought it might be the Swedish version. However it is much more than that, it is a philosophy, a way of life. I loved the pictures and Would definitely love to visit the country. Lots of areas were tackled in the book from social, economic and environmental. It should be a 'must read' for anyone visiting Sweden for the first time so they have a good understanding of the culture and way of life. Thank you

I love the idea of 'Lagom' and had heard a little about it before reading this book, although had only a very basic understanding. The great thing about this book is that the term is described in so many ways and in so many contexts that you can't fail to grasp what the concept means, despite there not being a direct translation of the word into english.

I loved that the book covered lots of different aspects of the books, e.g. lagom in social situations, lagom when it comes to food and so on. There were also photos to break up the text. I did however think that this book harped on about the point TOO much, hence only a three-star rating. I will however be trying to live a little more 'lagom' myself now!
