This was a fantastic read with brilliant characters.  Loved Payton and Damien.  How they were together.  Cannot wait to read next one.  5*.

Forbidden Blood, the first book in this series, needs to be read before this book.

If you loved Forbidden Blood you will love this book as well. I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

What I liked about this book:
~ You get to know more about characters you were introduced to in book 1, as well as meeting brand new characters.

~ This way this book is written is the same as that of Forbidden Blood: the story is written from 9 POV's but isn't confusing to read.

~ The story continues from where Forbidden Blood left off.

~ Several relationships blossom, both new and previously featured.

~ The story from Forbidden Blood gets partly concluded in this book (i.e. who the 'cat-shifter' is) but isn't completely over. There is more to come in the next book.

~ Like in Forbidden Blood, you aren't left with one big cliff-hanger but several little ones.


What I didn't like about this book:
~ There was only one scene in this book I had issues with. It wasn't major so it didn't ruin the book for me.

I love these books keep them coming I love the characters I love the plot I just love these stories in general bravo bravo!

Thoughts: When I snagged an ARC for this book, I had never read R.L. Kenderson before. It sounded interesting, and when I noticed it was the second in the series, I also snagged Book #1, Forbidden Blood, which happened to be free. I was very impressed by the author, her writing style, and the originality of the series. With so many paranormal books out there – especially shifters and vampires – it is rare to find something that sticks out in your mind. I loved Forbidden Blood, but I was hesitant to go into book two – you always have that thought in the back of your head that the next might not live up to the high expectation you have now. Let me assure you, when it comes to Kenderson’s books it does! I also recommend reading them in order – this one picked up right where the first one left off, and all the characters are interconnected and build off events in the previous book.
This is Payton’s story and follows her kidnapping and the events afterward. We get to learn a little more about the wolf shifter clan and the division of the wolves and the cats. The odds are stacked against Payton and Damien, but I found myself really wanting a happily ever after ending for this pair!

'Forbidden Heat' by R.L. Kenderson is Book Two in the "Forbidden" Series. This is the story of Payton Llewelyn and Damien Lowell. I have not yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book.
Payton is the daughter of the Cat Shifter Alpha of her pack. Damien is the future pack leader of his Alpha Wolf pack. Although the Cat and Wolf pack are not mortal enemies they are not friends either. So when Damien saves Payton when she is being attacked he takes her back to his place to help her heal. They are both strongly attracted to each other and its hard to fight that feeling with in such a close quarters.
Enjoyed this an hope to read more books by this author.
