A beautifully put together cookbook.
Not just lovely recipes and beautiful photos, but I loved the witty stories before each recipe. So fun to look through and read even when you aren't planning on cooking anything. You'll find delicious recipes you'll want to try out though!
I have a long list of things to try out but let me tell you the Bacon-Caramel Scruffins with Caramel Clotted Cream are worth buying the book for! We also really enjoyed the Mom's Amped up Snack mix. A twist on our favorite party snack that I had never ran across.
I can't wait to try out the Mom's Risotto, Chickarina Soup (Have the ingredients to make this for dinner this week), and Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes.
This is a book I can't wait to add to my kitchen cookbook shelf. It takes a lot for me to add a copy there!

I am a big fan of Valerie Bertinelli and I love this cookbook, it is filled with so many great recipes. Each recipe begins with a paragraph or two about the recipe and from reading these I felt like I got to know Valerie a little bit and they made me even more anxious to try some of the recipes. Lots of great pictures are included, and none of the recipes were too difficult that I wouldn't feel comfortable trying them. Some of my favorite recipes from the book include slow cooker beef sandwiches with giardiniera aioli, quinoa salad with cilantro-lime dressing, and chicken with lemon-lime sauce. There is even a chapter with fun cocktails for a party. I know I will be using this cookbook often.

I didn't get a chance to try any of the recipes, but there are some seriously tasty looking recipes in this book. None of them seem hideously time consuming, and they aren't full of ingredients that are more trendy than tasty. None of the ingredients seem impossible to get in a reasonably large size town. I couldn't put it in a children's library because of the alcoholic drinks, but it will fit into any adult library and really wouldn't be redundant in most home cookbook libraries.

Due to the formatting of the file and the technology available to me, I was unable to open the book to read and review. I'm still very interested in the book, and will look for it at my local library.

What a great foodie book. More than just recipes, Valerie shares thought and tips throughout the book. The format is easy to read, ingredients are listed on the side and the directions are clear. Pictures show what the final dish will look like. My favorite chapter is Finishing Sweet with the Smores popcorn and Peanut butter chocolate pretzels coming in a close 2nd. There are also a lot of Broccoli Salad recipes around but this one has a great flavor base with lots of crunch and sweet. Can't wait for the physical hardbound book to be published in October. Will be a perfect Christmas gift for the novice or experienced cook on your list.

Amazing book. Beautiful photography to go with yumy recipes. The Blueberry Banana Oat muffins are delicious. Valerie's writing style is smooth and relaxed, and it's just like watching her on the tv. Definitely going to use many recipes from this book. Highly recommended.

An interesting approach to a cookbook. First off, the recipes are easy and tasty. Especially liked the tuna melt. The ingredients are not too complex, and she gives tips and ideas for using other ingredients as substitutes, which I appreciate. So many cookbooks have such exotic ingredients, and it doesn't make sense to buy something to just try one recipe. I also like how she talks throughout the book, and makes me feel like I am there in her kitchen with her. Fun, friendly, and overall a great read, besides the delicious recipes of course. Highly recommend this book.
