An interesting, if somewhat drawn out read. I do feel the author tried a bit too hard with some of the observations.

A most wonderful thought provoking insightful collection of personal observational thoughts by Jonathan Carroll as he strolls around Venice- the people, views, shops, structures, transport, sights and smells etc.
I took my time with this chunky book as it need to be savoured rather than gobbled down and unappreciated so I read it over time along side contrasting fictional books.
Carroll is one of my favourite authors of magical realism so I jumped at the chance to really get inside and marvel at his amazingly wacky mind and it certainly did not disappoint, a real must for any fan!.
My thanks go to the author, publishers and Netgalley in providing this arc in return for a honest review.
