Great for Halloween and Horror movie enthusiasts!
I loved the 80s/90s style graphic design. The drink and movie pairings were perfect. Clever drink names and taglines, my favorite being The Skin Suit.
There are a lot of specialty alcohols and syrups the casual bartender wouldn't have lying around but a lot of them are used in multiple recipes, so you get good use out of them.
I tried the Silver Bullet paired with American Werewolf in London and the Broomstick paired with Army of Darkness - so tasty!
Can't wait to try more!

Let's Get Monster Smashed Horror Movie Drinks for a Killer Time by Jon Chaiet and Marc Chaiet was received direct from the publisher. I love the 80's motif, most likely because my high school years were in the 80's, when horror movies were good and teen angst films did not show suicide or confused kids, just kids experiencing the same thing I was. If you like horror movies, the 1980's or just like to drink cocktails, grab this book, in hardcover, as soon as you can. you will learn something you probably did not know about all three topics. AND, it is coming out in time for people to start thinking about Christmas shopping and i know my 51 year old body would love to get something like this book.

5 Stars

Cocktails with a humorous horror twist. A wonderful library of drinks themed to match any horror lovers collection. Some wonderfully clever concoctions (personally the Ghostbusters ect0plasm is so perfect I wondered why I hadn't though of it myself), with pictures of each one and fun graphics. Refreshingly for a cocktail book it also contains a selection of virgin drinks. Well worth an add to the bookshelf.

Horror movie nights and booze go hand-in-hand, so it’s actually a shock that has taken someone so long to come up with this simple, yet brilliant idea.
Let’s Get Monster Smashed pairs more than 50 themed cocktails, punches and alcoholic jelly mixes with horror movies. The full-colour, hardcover book is simply set out with large, professional shots of the finished products, easy to follow, step-by-step instructions and an easy to use guide on preparation techniques and hardware.
Beverages range from simple twists on popular concoctions to the wild and innovative but each carries its own distinct horror vibe and is a perfect companion to the film from which it is inspired. With plenty of options on hand this is the perfect book to spice up your next horror movie night.

First off I loved the style of this, it had the whole eighties vibe about it with the heading fonts and moody photography. And I was accepted just in time for our horror-themed marathon movie/party night. If you have the major components already (i.e gin/vodka/rum) lying around you can make a lot of these without spending a tonne of money. Plus it gives a few handy tips for mixing and layering at the start( the over spoon trick is the hardest part of any cocktail, I swear).

Anyway, a very happy (if somewhat inebriated) reviewer here.
