I am giving this book 3 stars. It's not that the book was bad in any way, it's just that the book was not for me. It was well written, but just not my style.

I loved the characters, could have done with a bit more exploration tho. I wanted a bit more time exploring the relationship and the side characters too

This book is the second in a trilogy that has as main characters the Azhar Skeikhs: Asim, Nasir and Basri. I loved the first one, so I decided to continue reading this trilogy because I was curious about what the author could put in this second book. Its main structure it’s the same as the previous one: the super rich and dark man meets a girl from another country (and if in the first one Elena was… I don’t think I remember, English with Italian roots?), in this case Nasir meets at a wedding this beautiful girl and doesn’t want their meeting to end there.

Cassandra is a successful matchmaker in her agency, she’s the best at finding people their one true love. Nevertheless, she is a lonely person, who lets her past still influence her present: as hers parents got a terrible divorce when she was only fourteen years old and they remained together until she got a bit older to understand what was happening, this trauma is influencing her on so many levels, starting from her personal life. Nasir is the son of the richest Azhar Skeikh, who is dead giving him and his brothers the chance to run the company the best they can.

I found the characters not so well developed, most of the time I found them plain and dull, and their meeting really, really didn’t surprised me so much. While the story had a potential, that for me hasn’t been expressed so well, it seemed to me a copy of the other book. I seriously find it difficult to understand why Nasir has always been so workaholic or the drama that Cassandra set up for not allowing him on his life again, especially after their one-night stand and their child-on-the way. My suspension of disbelief has been really too much challenged. Estetically, the Azhar brothers are similar: tall, dark and handsome… And I thought: I barely remember Asim and why his rushed relationship with Elena worked, even though they met in a strange way. No, what I really meant is this: we don’t know so much of the other brothers in the first book, because we get to know the story of Asim and Elena, but the only thing I remember so clearly is that each brother is so similar to the other that the book may change, but the substance remains the same. The only character that didn’t surprised me was Safiya, the mother of all three brothers. She is the only strong character in the book.

It was written with an alternate POV, that alternated the POV of Nasir and the POV of Cassandra, in a narrative strategy to allow the reader to feel empathy towards the characters. And, although the book wasn’t a hit for me, it certainly worked well this part of the narrative.

So, why did I gave the book 3,5 stars? Because this was that kind of read that I define, with no offense or hard feelings, “frivolous”. This book was an average read, in Italy we have this saying “senza infamia e senza lode”, that means that it was not bad but either not so good. I will read also the next book because I don’t like to interrupt series, but I hope the next brother will be a bit different from the other two, because after so many months, I seriously can’t remember what made Asim “Asim”, what his characteristics were.
I greet you with a quote from the book, hoping that the next will be better and a bit more exciting:
“But she liked it that way. Made it seem more like a fairy tale, as if she were lazily thumbing through pages at home, witnessing the fascinating arcs and gleams of someone else’s life.”
(Cassandra)

Cassandra was a successful matchmaker. Always finding love for others. After experiencing her parent's explosive marriage she refused to fall into the trap of loving someone else. Always protects, safe, but never happy. That all changed when she met Nasir. She saw him across a crowded room and felt peace for once in her life. One night changed everything. Her future. Her desire to finally be happy. Would he change her outlook?

Cassandra was a matchmaker and had successfully matched at least thirty couples. She is also usually invited to the weddings of her couples. Cassandra was at one such wedding and kept locking eyes with a hot man it had to be at least five times their eyes had locked so maybe the man was as interested in Cassandra as she was him. The man came to the table Cassandra was at and sat down next to her. His name was Nasir Everything about Nasir screamed wealth and the cool air of luxury. Cassandra didn’t plan on finding her match any time soon. Her life was too busy right now. Cassandra never wanted to get married. Her parents marriage had seemed picture perfect to the world but in reality it was anything but. Then Nasir got a phone call and there was an emergency at work and he had to leave the reception but he gave Cassandra his business card and told her to call or text him since he would like to get to know her, Cassandra called Nasir and they set up a date to go out to eat. Cassandra got tipsy and slept with Nasir after their first date and that wasn’t her style. Then Cassandra got an email from her boss and she was given a new client and it was Nasir. After that Cassandra would not respond to Nasir’s emails or calls. Then Cassandra finds out she is pregnant.
I loved this story , it was a fast and very enjoyable read. I loved the plot as well as the pace. I especially loved the ending. This was a quick sweet romance. I loved how Nasir knew right from the beginning there was something very something about him and Cassandra. I also loved how Nasir had planned the thank you dinner for Cassandra. I could not find anything to complain about in this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

Another fun and quick read by Leslie North. I loved the story between Nasir and Cassandra. This is the second book in this series and can't wait to read the last one. This story can be read as a stand alone. I would recommend this book.

This is the second book in a series but I don’t think I suffered for not reading the first in the series before this one. It definitely felt like a stand-alone novel. I loved the idea of a matchmaker who falls in love with someone she was supposed to match. Cassandra is a strong and interesting heroine and I think she and Nasir were a good match. I was a little annoyed that the cover art didn’t match the character descriptions (the character of Cassandra is a blond and the woman on the cover is a brunette). It’s the little things sometimes. I did like the story – the characters were solid – the writing was good. I did find it to be a fairly short read – it’s not even 200 pages. So, in some ways, I almost wish it had been longer! It felt in some ways like a novella instead of a novel. But, overall, this was a good romance. I think I’ll pick up the next book in the series and see if I am interested in continuing on!

The Sheikh's Pregnant Fling by Leslie North 'The Sheikh's Pregnant Fling' by Leslie North is book Two in the "Azhar Sheikhs" series.

This is the story of Cassandra and Nasir. I haven’t read book 1 in this series but this can be read as a standalone. Cassandra and Nasir meet first at a wedding where they are at the same dinner table. After Nasir switches a name placement beside her to his and she pretends to not be the person name plate she is setting at...which sets the story up for them to not really know each other’s name. They end up having a temporary fling then Cassandra is hired to find Nasir a wife, for Cass is a matchmaker. Can someone say Awkward!
Then we go along the rest of the way with what is the rest of the romance formula is- girl is in love with boy, boy cant be with girl..they have sex and something happens that keeps them apart. There is a secret, yada yada yada. I really did like this story even though it came across as sort of bland at times. I would have liked more passion and excitement. Otherwise, its just a bit cliché and somewhat bland when it comes to romance but still a quick summer romance read to enjoy.

Cute novella, but I didn't understand the romance. They barely met, instalove occurred, then they spent no time together learning about each other before they decided to marry. Little substance.
