The one line that hit me so hard in this book was, "not long ago, ministers were among the most trusted and admired people in our culture. But not anymore." What happened? Skye attempts to tackle that question in the book. If you are a pastor, you must read this book. As a pastor, I am amazed at the pressure that we do face in our culture today. We have so much to compete against and pressure to build churches, but really, where do these pressures come from? I think of 1 Peter 3 where women were "fixing themselves up on the outside" thinking it would win their husbands to Christ. Our churches are doing the same things today, which causes pastors not to be pastors, but entertainers. We get stuck being what we really weren't called to do. We, as pastors, need to get right again. I think this book is one of the resources to get us moving in the right direction. Really enjoyed the insights of this book.
