This is a heartwarming contemporary romance featuring Mia DeAngelis who has given up her personal aspirations to care for her nephew, Ben. Now he is ten years old, Mia has moved them back to Compass Cove, where her grandmother lives and where Mia spent many enjoyable summers. She is working as the college librarian and is determined to make the most of the opportunities the supportive, friendly coastal community provides as well as to adopt Ben.

Adam Miller has also returned to Compass Cove after injuries he sustained in an accident forced him to retire from his role as a prominent NFL quarterback. He’s re-evaluating his life choices and working as a coach at Jennings College. After meeting Ben and Mia, Adam realises she is the one for him and he needs to ensure he’s worthy of her trust and love. The chemistry between Adam and Mia is explosive but Ben still has to come first for Mia. There will be dramatic discoveries, sporting mishaps and family confrontations before these two can achieve their HEA with Ben!

The secondary characters in this story also have key roles to play. Adam’s Mum and Mia’s Grandmother are both brilliant, supportive, feisty and great role models, whilst Mia’s mother is anything but! Her Mum is so negative about Mia, undermining Mia’s self-image, confidence and never appreciates anything she does. All the characters are superbly portrayed, their interactions so believable this is a great start to a new series and I really look forward to reading more about Compass Cove in future!

Mia and Adam just didn't hold my attention. I DNF'd this book quite a bit of the way in.

This story was such a beautiful read. Mia and Adam made me love them since the first meeting.

Mia had a difficult life and she move to Campass Cove in order to find some peace and her HEA. When she meets Adam they are instantly drawn to each other. Adam has had quite a life before he came back to Campass Cove and when he lays his eyes on Mia he knows everything will change.

He didn't know why it was important to him that she liked him, but it was. He got the feeling there was a lot of depth beneath that guarded surface and she was so damned adorable. So adorable. Yeah, he was in trouble."

When life throws a curve ball at them - they need to believe that there are the ONE for each other.

"You don't know who's going to be your love store Mia. It may be Adam, it may not. But don't be so afraid that you close the door before you have a chance to find out."

This story has all the feels...From laughter to tears you will fall head of heals in love with this story.

I fell in love with Mia and Adam. Mia was a young woman who gave up her life to raise her nephew. Adam was a man who had everything a person could need until his life changed by his own stupid decisions.
When they both end up in Compass Cove, there is an immediate attraction, but she doesn't trust easily and he had never had feelings like he is having. Can they find a way to be happy? When a secret about her sister comes out and threatens the adoption of Ben, her nephew, will she lean on Adam or push him away? Well Adam walk away after an argument or will he realize what he has and fight for her and Ben?

Then Came You by Jeannie Moon is the first book in a new small-town series in which I completely fell in love. I knew I was going to love the community and the people when I read the prologue concerning the compass and the departed sailor. Sure enough, I did.

Other than one mother and one self-centered dope, the characters main and supporting were simply charming, making this a place where I would want to live. Mia was such an authentic character with her self-doubts and body issues. Of course, like most of us she was much more competent than she gave herself credit for being. It was inspiring to watch this woman grow into a confident individual. At the same time, it was wonderful to see Adam mature and grow into a caring, thoughtful person. The grandmothers and Ben were simply priceless, love them.

Then Came You is a romantic story with a heavy dose of family drama that centers on acceptance, realistic perspectives, life beyond celebrity status and overcoming emotional abuse. It had a few surprises that were slowly revealed making this a hard to put down romance.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley.

Then Came You is the first book in the Compass Cove series. Mia moves to Compass Cove for a change. When she meets Adam, who has recently moved there as well, everyone thinks they are meant to be. Now Mia and Adam need to get fully on-board as well. I really enjoyed this book, and I definitely recommend it.

This book was honestly just ok for me. I had a hard time making a connection to the characters. There was nothing wrong with the writing or story, it was just a connection thing for me. I have read other books by this author that I have loved.

when her sister died, Mia DeAngelis became her nephew's guardian. Determined to provide a better life for her ten-year-old nephew, Ben, than what she had with a mother that was never proud of her, Mia has moved to Compass Cove to live with her grandmother. Meeting a man wasn't in Mia's plan, but how can Mia say no to spending time with Adam Miller, especially when he's so good with Ben. Will Adam be able to win Mia's heart, or will they lose their chance at happy ever after?

Ms. Moon has such wonderful talent for writing fascinating and mesmeric characters that draw me -- as a reader -- in from the beginning; and riveting dialogue that had me wondering whether the hero would win the heroine over, as he certainly bungles his chances along the way. The way this story started had me really enjoying the relationship between the heroine and her nephew, as she would do anything to protect him and help him have a good life. Will she be able to make him understand where she's coming from when it comes to what they're talking about? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time that had me amused due to Adam's reaction to Mia. Certainly, she's not the stereotypical librarian with glasses and her hair in a bun.

As for the dialogue, it kept me entertained from start to finish because of the main characters back stories, their growing relationship and the obstacles they face on their journey to happy ever after. Will Adam be able to make things right when he manages to stuff things up with Mia? Moreover, the heroine is strong and brave and I liked how she finally stood up to her mother when it came to the woman's criticisms. I also liked how she challenged the hero when it seemed he wasn't doing everything in his power to show her how much she means to him, which is proven when he does something that leaves her upset with him. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was her relationship with her nephew and how far she's willing to go to make sure she doesn't lose him.

While the hero, he's done well for himself when it comes to his career, considering what he went through in his past. I also liked the growing bond between the hero and the heroine's nephew, especially because he's there for the young boy in a time of need. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was his willingness to fight for his relationship with Mia and that he didn't give up when times got tough. Times such as the hero's ex and her nastiness towards Mia and when Mia has to fight for her rights when it comes to Ben.

Overall, Ms. Moon has penned an enthralling and delightful read in this book where this couple's chemistry was wonderful, the romance nicely-detailed and did justice to this couple's incredible chemistry; and the ending had me liking what the heroine did to her late sister's jerk of an ex and her determination to win back Adam, because she knew he was right when it came to what she needed to do to ensure Ben stayed with her forever. I would recommend Then Came You by Jeannie Moon, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Jill Shalvis, Melissa Storm, Erin Nicholas and Roxanne St. Claire.

Jeannie Moon has another winner with her latest book, Then Came You. This novel grabs you right from the beginning and the heart-stirring journey never lets up. The two primary characters, Mia DeAngelis and Adam Miller, have undeniable chemistry, and their romantic courtship is replete with friendship, desire and love. Ms. Moon is a talented storyteller and her words kept me glued to my seat. This is the first book from her brand new Compass Cove series, and it can be thoroughly enjoyed as a standalone.

After tragedy after tragedy, Mia and her ten year old nephew Ben are finally settling into their new home along the shore of Long Island. Mia is the new college librarian and she is beginning to make new friends, while getting Ben involved with the local community and baseball team. Leaving the city life behind and moving in with her Nana was a good decision all the way around. Although Mia is a bit overprotective, she loves Ben with all her heart and plans on adopting him in the very near future. She would also like to find true love some day.

Adam has turned over a new leaf since returning to his hometown of Compass Cove. Not to long ago, he had a successful NFL career. At the time, he had a different woman on his arm every night and only cared about himself. He stopped playing football after being injured in a car accident. The accident and injury caused him to reevaluate his life, and become the kind person he was meant to be. Although Adam misses playing football, he enjoys coaching at the college level. Adam and Mia meet accidentally, and overtime they fall into lust and love.

Then Came You is a quick-paced story with well-defined and exciting characters. I loved the way Ms. Moon evolved Mia and Adams's relationship, with discovery, tenderness, and longing. Mia's mother was amazingly mean and her ability to hurt was never ending. If you are looking for a contemporary romance with some surprising moments, an engaging plot, and a happily ever after that will leave a smile on your face, read this book.

In Then Came You, Mia has moved in with her grandmother to give her nephew a better life. She has been raising him since her sister killed herself years before. Adam is the football coach at the college where Mia works. As a former NFL star, he was a major player but he is determined to settle down now that he is back home. For them, it was attraction at first sight. I was looking forward to a sweet romance and I wasn't disappointed.

I thought this was a super cute story. Mia and Adam were so good together. Although Adam did majorly screw up at one point, I was rooting for them to work things out. I was also cheering Mia on as she stuck to her guns and made him prove he deserved her trust. More than their relationship, I was touched by the family dynamics in the story. Particularly between Mia and Ben. I could empathize with Mia on her struggle to want to see Ben safely in a bubble, yet also wanting him to spread his wings and find a sense of community in their new home.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I definitely recommend this one. It was really well written and a fun read. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Loved this book so much! Emotional and heartwarming - this was the perfect romance! I loved everything about this book - the characters, the setting and the chemistry! Fantastic!

Mia has returned to Compass Cove to work as the librarian at the local college, while also raising her nephew Ben and living with her grandmother. Adam is a former NFL star that now lives in Compass Cove again and is the football coach at the college where Mia works. One day Ben runs away from the library and Adam discovers him on the field. Was it a coincidence, or part of the magic of Compass Cove?

With the exception of Mia and Adam's first meeting, there was nothing I did not love about Mia. She was beautiful, intelligent, caring, and just an all-around great person. Adam had a reputation of being somewhat of a playboy and a history of dating models and celebrities, but I loved everything about him from his first appearance in the novel until his last. Ben was also a wonderful character with the perfect amount of complexity and child-like characteristics that were appropriate, but I must say that I loved Mia's grandmother! Ahhh, to have her energy and spunk at that age...

As previously stated, Then Came You addresses several issues regarding death, loss of a parent, guardianship, sports injuries, and tense relationships with loved ones. I found it effortless to relate to the plot and identify with the characters from beginning to end. There are some challenging moments in the novel, especially between Mia and her (evil) mother, but overall, this was a feel-good novel that I truly enjoyed. Jeannie Moon has created a romantic story that isn't over the top, and it left me with a perfectly warm and fuzzy feeling!

A heartwarming emotional read of finding love when you least expect it. A great start to a new series, that is set on Compass Cove in New York. Mia has returned to Compass Cove, where she had so many summer memories, as the new librarian at the local college. She is raising her nephew, Ben. Adam is a retired NFL quarterback from injuries, where he is now coaching football. Returning home was not in the cards for Adam, along with falling in love with Mia and Ben.

The sense of small town community is felt through out this story. Loved Mia and Adam, neither expecting to find love but with the help of the local town people and the magic of the compass with help them with their HEA.

I highly recommend this book, it was a book that I could not put down. Jeannie Moon has out done herself.

Wow! I am in love with this book. Jeannie Moon is a new-to-me author and I couldn’t be happier that I was able to get an ARC of this book so I was able to discover her writing. I requested this one on the description alone, not really knowing much of this author. Why has she been hiding from me?!

There are so many relationships that can be dissected in this story. Mia and Adam, of course, being the main event. But there’s Mia and her nephew Ben, Mia and her grandma, Mia and her sister…well, Mia and her family I guess is the best way to put that. But it’s not all Mia all the time. Adam has a much more supportive family, but it’s still fraught with its own baggage. No matter which relationship I look at I find it to be carefully and caringly crafted by the author.

It was refreshing to have an insta-love story where the characters didn’t really act on that insta-love for a long, long time. You would think it would get tedious and seem too drawn out, but it didn’t. There was such a simmering heat every time Adam and Mia were in the same vicinity, or even thought about each other, I couldn’t get enough. Because of Ben, Mia and Adam really thought things through when it came to what they did and didn’t want. It endeared Adam to me all the more that he considered Ben’s well-being even before he knew him all that well.

Not only did I get warm-fuzzies throughout this story, I also got what I noted as “gut-punch warm-fuzzies” a few times. That was when I got even more than the nice, warm, butterfly feeling. I got more of a nice, warm, hamster running on a wheel in my belly feeling. I also got some not-so-good gut-punched feelings when it came to the issues between Mia and her mother. That woman is just plain mean and petty and should be kept away from children at all costs. I wanted to tear her a new one more than once and enjoyed witnessing Mia come into her own when it came to that relationship.

Ever the person obsessed with timelines, I did notice a few continuity issues. Because I read an ARC and I can’t be sure they won’t be fixed before final publication I’m not taking them into account on my rating. I often do when there are more than a few in an ARC, but even those issues couldn’t dampen my love of storytelling in this book.

Jeannie Moon also did an excellent job of introducing the reader to a profusion of characters that could keep this series going for a while if she wanted. The initial legend of the compass told at the beginning of the book is beautiful and really lays a strong foundation for stories of love in this small town.

Favorite Quotes:

Their first game was three days away, and the offensive line had more holes than a cheap hooker’s panties.

Mia, you’re a knockout. Women spend thousands of dollars to have boobs like those… If I were twenty years younger, I’d go buy myself a pair.

By the end of the evening, he’d decided they’d go as Hamlet and Ophelia, which disturbed her more than a little since Ophelia’s story didn’t end so well.

Ellen was still going. She was like the Energizer Bunny of bitches.

My Review:

The ever-clever Jeannie Moon started this story with a soupcon of mystical and romantic folklore about a coastal small town and the oddly behaving compass for which it was named; all of which I found sweet, captivating, soul pleasing, creative, and totally charming. I enjoyed this delightful and engaging story start to finish and I adored the endearing characters of Adam and Mia so much that I wanted to befriend them; I would even eat cookies and do tea with their grandmothers. Laced with family drama, amusing observations, and a few bits of steamy sensuality; the storyline was entertaining and relatable with heart-squeezes, exposed secrets, and unexpected twists along the way. I am already eager for a return trip.

A bittersweet love story about how Mia, a single woman who is guardian to her 10-year-old nephew Ben, overcomes the challenges of being a single parent while trying to build a life for herself and her ward. In all the time that she has cared for Ben, she neglects herself, her dreams, he needs. Moving to Compass Cove allows her to re-evaluate the direction in which her life is headed. Never having been appreciated for whatever she has done and being constantly berated by her mother, she lacks confidence. But she plans to take charge of her life, allow Ben to be who he wants to me and maybe live and love a little as she pleases.

Adam, on the other hand, has lived life in the fast lane and has crashed, burned and has now recovered. Leaving behind his life as an NFL player, he now coaches football. He has never loved anyone, but the attraction that he has felt for Mia from the first time he saw her, makes him realize that she is probably the only woman that he will ever need in his life from here on out. But the wary Mia can sense the danger of letting him get too close even though their chemistry is off the charts. And now that she's determined to adopt Ben, she needs to think about his well-being before herself. Adam may be great with Ben on the field but she'd not sure whether he'd be as great with her heart.

I loved, loved, loved Then Came You by Jeannie Moon, the first book in her new Compass Cove series. Once again she made me fall in love with her hero and heroine, Mia and Adam, not that it was difficult to do. These two characters grew so much during their journey of finding their “true north” and their true love. Mia gave up almost everything after her sister’s suicide in order to take care of her nephew, Ben. To give him a better life she moves to Compass Cove living with her grandmother after taking a job at Jennings College. Former NFL quarterback, Adam became Jennings College football coach after being injured in a car crash. Adam helps Ben adjust to his new town, giving him confidence and working on the athletic skills that were natural to Ben.

There is magic in the town of Compass Cove, magic that helps Mia grow more self-assured and Adam change his player ways. There is a definite chemistry and attraction between these two. This story played with my emotions, wondering if these two would find their happy, ever after. Also, there were a number of aspects in Mia’s relationship with her mother that resonated within me, being similar to me and my mother. I understood her pain and lack of self worth.

I totally loved reading this book and really had trouble putting this book down. Ms. Moon wrote a wonderful story, drawing me in and not letting go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book to other readers and cannot wait for the next book in this amazing series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Then Came you is the first book in the Compass Cove series by Jeanie Moon. Compass Cove seems to be the place you want to come to when you are looking for a change in your life. Looking for something new to fulfill a void no matter what it may be. Jeanie Moon has a wondrous way of making Compass Cove seem like the exact place I would love to be. Mia made this change for a better life style for herself and her nephew. Adam made the move to help heal from an injury that ended his career.

Can small town meddling help the college football coach and librarian find the love and void that they both so desperately need? This book was absolutely heartwarming. I really enjoyed it.

Another emotion filled book from Jeannie Moon!! The story, the writing, and the secondary characters are all exceptional but what makes this one unforgettable are the core characters of Mia, Ben, and Adam. You can just feel the chemistry and depth of feeling they have for each other. Mia and Adam are both people looking for a fresh start after life served them up some pretty hard times. They never give up even though their journey to their HEA is bumpy.

This is truly an amazing read and one I will be recommending to everyone.

Jeannie Moon is a treasure. Far beyond the new beginnings and second chances lies not just a romance but a family. Mia, Ben and Adam are the key players, but it's the secondary characters that steal the show. Mia's mother is a piece of work. Self -centered, cold, cruel and needy. Her grandmother on the other hand sealed the deal for me. Fiesty, funny and unforgettable are just a few adjectives to describe the firecracker of an old lady. How can you not fall in love with such realistic people and such great writing? Then Came You is an enticing beginning to what I think will be an unforgettable series.
