I’ve read better. Wimbley wonders what happens when he dials 911, what happens to the crayons he flushes down the toilet. To me it’s just Wimbley asking if he will get in trouble for doing things he shouldn’t.

Cute story with a curious boy. Good illustrations. Sweet ending

Thanks to NetGalley for providing this ebook for review. Wimbley the Wonder Boy by Angela Hawkins, illustrated by Holly Blackman, was a pleasant and entertaining read and the illustrations are a delight as well. Highly recommend!

Another short (but cute) picture book from Xist Publishing. "Am I big enough to pour my own milk?" "Can I scream loud enough to be heard . . . around the world?" The colorful, childlike illustrations work, presenting a young boy's questions, imagination, and the assurance of his mother's love.

The stand-out feature of this book is the delightful illustrations, done in a way to look as though done by children, which is really effective here. I couldn't work out the content of the book from the title, as I imagined some kind of superhero tale, and there was no blurb to go on. However, it is actually about Wimbley and the things that he wonders throughout the week, based on his young imagination. It has a very sweet and heart-warming ending, and as it is such a quick read it'll be one that young ones will say 'again'!
