Really enjoyed this one. Kyle has come to town to check out and then take over his half-brothers' business of river rafting. Meeting and seducing Fisher was not part of the deal. When he shows up, after a wild one night stand, Kyle finds Fisher is his trainer on being a guide. Good chemistry and fun characters make a charming book, even with his initial motives of a take over. Didn't quite get all the idea of his boss who sent him there, as that was kinda glossed over, and same with his dad. Probably would have helped a bit to read the previous books in the series, but still enjoyed the book. I would give it 4.5 stars. Highly recommend this book and author.

The plot of this book was kind of ridiculous. Kyle was placing a lot of misplaced blame on his brothers that should have been directed at his parents. The actual romance was fine; nothing too noteworthy.

Are adventure company romances the “in” thing right now? I’ve read several – including a m/m series from Lynda Aicher and a recent Nicole Helm series. I’m not a whitewater raft person by any means – give me a tube, a creek, and a cooler that floats. But I am drawn to this trope. But, not this book. This one did not work for me at all.

I did like the heroine – but that’s about it in the story. Fisher is a tall, strong, athletic woman who is a very good raft guide. She has been in love with her boss forever, but he is now very happily married with kids, so she knows she needs to move on – but her heart won’t let her. Out one night at a bar, a cute guy buys her a drink and they end up in his RV for a one night stand.

This guy is our hero, Kyle. Kyle has two reasons for signing up for Fisher’s rafting guide class. One, his boss has sent him to evaluate the company so they can buy it and take control. But even more so, the two men that own the company are his half-brothers – but the two guys don’t know they have a brother. Kyle’s dad impregnated his mom, and then left them – and Kyle looks at the two successful brothers and wants revenge. He wants to take their company. He didn’t plan on sleeping with and falling for his rafting guide – and that makes him second guess his revenge motives.

Guys. There is no chemistry in this book. Fisher and Kyle sleep together super quick, and then just keep doing it. Kyle gave me the creeps, more than the good shivers. He comes off as sleazy and selfish. I would never be friends with this guy in real life – and that’s not a good thing to ponder when you are reading the book. His feelings never come across as genuine and I think that is what got me. It felt like he was just coasting along and playing the “hey sweetheart” card with Fisher. I don’t picture their relationship lasting. She is definitely too good for him. Also, the fact that he has two secret half-brothers and trying to undermine their company is mostly forgotten until the end of the book.

Kyle felt so selfish – always thinking about only his future and how Fisher would fit in it, but not thinking about maybe what she would want for herself. I didn’t like the set-up with Kyle having two half brothers, and I didn’t like the secret of trying to buy the rafting business. And I really didn’t like Kyle.

Fisher – you can do better!

Grade: D

3.5 Stars!

Fisher is the top whitewater rafting guide at Swift River Adventures and not one for one night stands, but sometimes sparks fly and a connection is forged, even if only for a night. Now Kyle is her student and awkwardness ensues, at least for her. But Kyle has a secret that could destroy their budding romance asunder and destroy his relationship with his half-brothers before it even begins.

It was fun watching Fisher figure out how to be a Strong Blonde as well as feminine. I was completely prepared to dislike Kyle based on the book's synopsis, but that preparation was in vain. All of the characters were well thought out and well written, and The supporting characters added to the story without detracting for the main individuals. This was my first book by Kristina Mathews and the third book in the Swift series, but it works wonderfully as a standalone. Kristina integrates relevant background information as it's needed and works it seamlessly into the story. Now I'm curious to see how Cody and Carson's, Kyle's older half-brothers, courtships progressed in the first two books.

Zoe has had feelings for Drake since high school, but Drake was with her best friend Heather. When Heather tragically dies, Zoe and Drake find themselves bound by mourning. They help each other through the worst of times, and slowly become each other's best friends. That is all they consider themselves, though: friends. Slowly, however Drake realizes he has feelings for Zoe, and is determined to let her know.

I would give this book 3.5 stars. It was a sweet romance, but also deals with hard topics like dementia and illness. I liked how it took a sad beginning but made it a happy ending. I was asked by the author for an honest review.

Diving In by Kristina Matthews
A Swift River Romance #3

If you are looking for an easy to read romance that includes tips on learning to ride rafts on rivers and includes friends and family then this book might be for you. It is straightforward, uncomplicated and ties the three brothers’ story up with a HEA that is positive and enjoyable while also being somewhat predictable. That said, the chemistry between Kyle and Fisher is steaming hot and the story an okay way to spend the day. I missed book two of the series but as this is a standalone story – no problem at all.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Lyrical Shine for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Excellent book! This is a nice easy read that is very well written with wonderfully developed characters. Kyle Swift is set on revenge. He was the forgotten Swift son. His father chose to be with his half brothers rather than Kyle and his mother. So he will take his revenge out on the other two Swift sons by snagging their business out from under them. Fisher Jones was never part of the plan. The feisty whitewater instruction is beautiful, tempting, and someone Kyle can't stay away from. Problem is spending time with Fisher and getting to know his brothers puts his plans at risk which could also put his job at risk. So he has to decide, follow his heart or his head.

A recommended read!

the swift brothers series comes to a close with diving in, where we meet kyle, the long lost swift brother. he's on a recon mission to buy out the swift whitewater rafting business out from under his brothers. but early on he finds himself more focused on strong blonde, fisher jones.

from the moment he sees her at a bar and they share this incredible night together, to finding out that she's connected to the business he's been brought on to convince to sell, he knows she will be his. he's not the kind of guy to give up at the first sign of adversity. and it doesn't matter the obstacles fisher throws in his way, he makes sure that at the end of the day, she's in his bed.

kyle is a really good guy, and being with him proves to fisher that whatever she felt for cody was a pale imitation of love. things between kyle and fisher get serious fast, but you still get a lot of time to enjoy them together as a couple. when all their secrets are revealed, how easily some of these things are accepted stretch reality, but it doesn't matter. in the end, this was an enjoyable contemporary read.

Diving in is another story from Swift brothers. It is nice easy going story with well-developed characters. Both Kyle and Fischer are likable and they have strong chemistry between. The story is not complicated, their romance adventure stars really quickly and Kyle is easy to adjust in new environment and job. It is great to see that he changes and is not so bitter toward his brother. I liked that although you knew where the story goes there are some unpredictable things, like Kyle sharing his secret with Fisher and the things that come/happens toward the end. It is also great to see that Fisher finally realizes that she was not truly in love with her boss but it was just a crush who she used as a shield and that she realized what is true love and that is what she felt for Kyle.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Kyle sometimes has to remind his woman of things, she can be a tad bit forgetful at times, "she grabbed his hand and started for the side door. “Uh, Fisher. I guess I’m not the only forgetful one.” He stared at her bare lower half. “Maybe you should put your shorts on.” Fisher knows how to wear her man out, "...yet here it was, the sun barely up, and Fisher was snuggling up against him. Rubbing her hands up his back, over his chest. Down. “Darn, woman , you’re insatiable.” He wasn’t complaining, though. Far from it, as she now ran her tongue across his skin." I enjoyed this book I loved Kyle.
