Third book in the Pleasant Valley series by Anna Brooks comes Steady, a romance of accepting your past as your past and finding happiness within your future with another loving soul who understands you for who you are.

Polly Madison knew the meaning of growing up rough. No love. No support. Fully on her own. Maybe that’s why she falls for men who take advantage of her and leave her hurt? Erik Anderson had the opposite upbringing, multitudes of love and wealth, until he didn’t. He wears his guilt like it’s his coat of armor. The guilt and blame that controls him day in and day out. Suffering loss is what he knows and nothing more, until fate brings him together with Polly.

The instant chemistry is kinetic. However, there history prevents happiness for both of them. Understanding each other helps them connect, but can they both move forward? Can they find acceptance?

Just like any of Anna Brooks books, her characters are well developed and her storylines are well written, making it a great and depth defying read. Eric is the almighty protector with Polly when he is not wallowing in his self-pity and Polly is a strong female that wants to prove to the world that she can make it on her own two feet. No two characters are better for one another; fall in love with their tale. I dare you!
