I have said it time and again; the talent of L.A. Fiore is nothing less than enchanting. I have fallen in love with her writing, her stories and her characters time and again and this is a love affair that is going to last till my dying breath.

Two wildly diverse characters – Kace (henceforth known as “My Pirate”) and Willow – they are not only from opposite ends of spectrum, but they are also wildly shaped by their own circumstances. For two people who shouldn’t have met, their paths cross in a way that alters their whole existence and their lives!

Willow is a dreamer; a lifetime of neglect by people who’s center of universe she should have been; she has made it into her strong point; her ability to love and find good in those who do not seem to find good in themselves. This did not mean that she was naïve or even spineless; she is intelligent, plucky and loyal to those she believes in. In short, she is my champion!

Kace ala “My Pirate” is a man hardened by his rough start in his life – but even under that hardened exterior, it was easy to see the boy who had all the love in the world to give and no one to give it too. I hated the life he was forced to lead but adored how he made that life his strength; how he refused to bend to the rules this society had created for those in his circumstances and how he came to build a life that he not only loved but definitely thrived at!

The plot follows through for many years; though it may seem like it happens in minutes,/b> – but the angst in Willow and Pirate’s relationship is what makes this book perfect in its imperfections – I adored how in-sync they were with each other right from the get go! But most importantly, what endeared them to me was the fact they had their eyes open (yes, even Willow with the stars in her eyes) were open to the realities of their world; the realities of their differences and yet also understood the power of their feelings.

The plot-line is as engaging as the characters themselves; you have an interesting collection of secondary characters that you can’t help but root for – but it is the lost treasures, the mysteries of the past and the beautiful places that awaken the wanderlust within you!

Plus, it is only when you reach “the end” is when you realize that you aren’t saying goodbye to these characters – you just have to wait a little while before they travel back to you – after what pirate stays at one place for this long! ;)

The beauty of this book not only enchants but is riveting from start till the end! I do not how Ms. Fiore does it, but time and again she brings to her readers stories that not only capture our attention, but also stay with us, long after we reach the end. .

Wow! What a fantastic book!! Thrilling..right from the start.
L.A Fiore takes us on an adventure. One that is full of romance and suspense. There is even a search for buried treasure. And of course there is a villian who needs to be thwarted. That said, this story isn't as pretty as that sounded. We still get the LA feel but it's more, much more. She didn't give us just a pretty tale of pirates, she gave us PIRATES. Although, its not the yo ho ho kind. Ruthlessness..nothing was sugar coated. We get to see the dark side of these men and how it all came about. I loved it. This wasn't a dark story but it had some darkness in it. But this is our awesome LA we are talking about, so it's not too heavy. I'll say this, she went to certain places with some of characters that we haven't seen before. It was great and definitely fit. At the same time, it was a light, fun, exhilarating read. I highly recommend it.
Now here's the part I tell you that I received this as an ARC. Also that I am a HUGE fan of LA Fiore. That said..that has nothing to do with how fantastic this story is. Amazing!!!

"She had become my addiction and like a true addict I was hooked."

I was kind of skeptical to read a book about pirates, but whoa was I wrong to think that way. I don't really know how to put into words, but this book was amazing. The writing is top notch and flows so perfectly. The story has everything you could hope for love, suspense, humor, it is just perfect.

I love all the characters and can't wait to read more in the Shipwreck series.

I have 3 of L.A. Fiore's book's on my kindle and I will be reading them in the very near future!

Modern-day pirates? Sign me up! I was drawn to this story from the moment I read the blurb and L.A. Fiore did not disappoint. Prepare yourself for action, adventure, angst, and deliciously steamy romance. This is one summer read you don’t want to miss!

It’s an intriguing tale, with twists and turns that will keep you guessing. These modern-day pirates are a crew you wouldn’t want to cross but you can’t help but love them! There were moments my heart was pumping, then stopping, then beating out of my chest. I was so immersed in the story, I didn’t want it to end.

The connection shared between the main characters is undeniable, beautiful and intense. I was completely taken by them and I enjoyed going along for each step of their journey. I am not naming names for a reason, you’ll know why once you read the book. I don’t want to spoil anything!

Elusive will keep you captive until the very last page! It’s the first book I have read by L.A. Fiore and it will not be my last. I am looking forward to book 2 in the Shipwreck Series!!

I hope that my review ends up being worthy of Elusive and Kace/Noah and Willow.

Pirates, I don't think anyone ever sets out to be a pirate. Kace didn't. Neither did his friends. A set of circumstances opened an opportunity and they took it, with eyes wide open. They don't start out their lives struggling to make it through every day. Stealing. And worse.

A college graduate working full time in her grandfather's museum. She had so many years hopes and dreams and they all centered around a painting of two lovers and what that painting meant for/to her.

Elusive takes place over a span of time. It has a great many adventures for both Kace and Willow. Eventually it puts them in each other's paths and forever in their minds. Although they both harbor some intense feelings for each other... Its just not meant to be, not now... Maybe ever. After all the life of a pirate is dangerous and far beyond anything Willow is used to.

Willow eventually lands in St. Croix working as a dive instructor for a local hotel and occasionally working on a dive team part time, she's living the dream, until a blast from her past shows up and throws everything off.

Kace isn't the man she remembers...or he's at least part of the man she remembers even if he does go by a name. Willow is exactly as Kace remembers and more. And now their lives are entertwined. They're both about to embark are a journey that is a first for not only them but for both of their "crews".

Loyalty will be tested in the most unexpected of places and people. Love will grow at the worst of times. Friendships will be formed. Adventures on the high sea, beautiful locals and a mystery based off a love letter, a necklace and a sunken ship.

I'm ready. I was ready as soon as I saw Elusive's cover. I wanted an Adventure and I wanted to feel the excitement of seeing the unexpected and unknown. Of holding a piece of history in my hand even if it is tiny.

Readers get this all and so much more with in this stunningly put together book. L. A. Fiore absolutely knocked this out of the park. She raised the bar with each page turned... And then to finish the final chapter and to see she's going to give us a series! Well, what more could a girl ask for? I don't think my words even come close to doing this book justice. I'm so overwhelmed, I even took a day to let it all settle before I considered writing my review.

So, if you take anything away from this jumble of words let it be, buy it. Just click the button and take the most magical adventure, full of danger and steamy connections and dream worthy locations.

Oh My...this book is so enchanting and unique, a beautiful story interwoven with another beautiful story.
Two people, Kace and Willow, who come from such different lives, meet by chance, by a mutual love of the ocean and the people behind that love, only then to meet again..a connection so strong it was imposssible to forget or deny.
I absolutely loved this book, everything about it..the characters, the story, the tiny little details and the big picture..and I can't wait for more books in this series.
I am afraid I can't say much ;) other than the fact that this story is freaking magical and so mesmerising..I just want to read it all over again!

This is a book about PIRATES!!!! I never thought that I would LOVE a book about pirates so much. This is a 4.5 star read that took a few chapters to get into but once I did I couldn't put it down. Willow and Noah are great characters independently and as star crossed lovers moving in and out of each others lives. I haven't been a big fan of historical books (fiction or based on real history) but this one has me intrigued. I can't wait for the other books that follows this family of unlikely modern pirates!!

Provided as an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.

This book was AMAZING!! There is so much suspense, and angst that I was constantly drawn into the story. The characters would drive you insane in both good and bad ways. I loved every character created by this story. Did I say pirates yet? OMG yes! ...there are freaking pirates!! I am not convinced that no story is complete without pirates. Pirates and treasure hunters. I feel like I keep throwing out one awesome thing after another when I try to explain all the things that make this book so great! It has it all: love, lust, hate, angst, suspense l, and PIRATES!! You guys have no idea about my fascination with pirates, and this book just made me love them more. There is also a historical factor that calls to my inner explorer but, Hot pirates that plunder your heart and give multiple explosive orgasms...um...where do I sign up?! Anyway, everyone should buy this book. I loved it, it's well written, and the story is fantastic. You will be drawn in from the every beginning to the very end.

"You've seen ugly, but there is beauty and if you ever find someone who makes your stomach twist and your palms sweat, someone who makes everything else just fade from existence, take her hand. I promise you, you won't be sorry that you did."

I really struggled with this book, I really wanted to love this book something fierce. But, I think the expectations I had just put me in the wrong frame of mind. I was centered around an epic, yet tragic love story.

While this story was beautifully written, I just struggled to connect to these characters. I was fascinated by both of their backgrounds but they were tragic and heart breaking and I wanted to reach out and hug them so hard!

That said, something about these two together just didn't work for me. I just this book just wasn't everything I wanted it to be.

Hopefully, you can find your happily ever after on the high seas!

Wow what a great love story! High adventure, twists, mayhem and great characters! L.A. Fiore has taken a modern day pirate tale and spun an intense web of suspicion, mystery, murder and revenge. Then she has interwoven a beautiful love story that has tremendous obstacles to overcome to ever have a chance to come to fruition. This book is sexy and fun, intriguing and intense, gut wrenching and horrifying, loving and compassionate. This is a perfect beach read.

"Once upon a time someone called me a pirate."

Forget the stories of Captain Hook and his crew and feast your eyes on this amazing tale of two unlikey people that sail the seas looking for treasure, redemption, and finding a love they never saw coming.

L.A. Fiore has done it again with her words that grip you and take you on a journey unlike any other. I have always had a love of pirate stories, but this one might just be my favorite!!

Willow is adventurous and full of spunk. She knows what she wants, and has the passion to go for it. it took one night in Cancun to change it all...or shall I say one man.

"We're not done."
"We're not."
"Not by a long shot."

Noah is such a complex character. He's sexy and charming, but also dangerous and mysterious. He was the epitome of pirate! But underneath his pain and turmoil lies a man that will do anything for the one person who holds his heart.

Willow and Noah's story is one for the books...pun totally intended!!
From their first night together to the voyages they make, this book was full of adventure, suspense, and above all else heart.

"Where do you belong?"
"From the moment you looked up at me outside that bookstore, I belong wherever you are."

I really enjoyed how this story also had another love story sewn into it. Discovering a 200 year old story while they discovered their own was so great!

I want so many more pirate book from L.A. Fiore!!
Like I NEED THEM!!
I know every one of Noah's crew members needs a story and maybe a certain spunky best friend;)

Pick up this book if you want a story with classic tales, but with a modern twist!!

"A pirate who loves an angel."
"There are stranger things."

I am a huge fan of L.A. Fiore's after reading a few of her books. She is still pretty new to me, but with each new book I read from her I fall more in love with her writing style. I was so excited to see that she was writing a pirate love story, and this book was everything I had been hoping for from her.

Noah and Willow came from very different backgrounds, but from the moment they met there was a spark between them. Willow's family was in the treasure hunting business and she always blamed it for the reason her parents were around. But when she stumbled upon a journal with the promise of a shipwreck and lost treasure, the romantic in her knew she had to find it to get answers to what happened to the couple from the journal. Noah's life was about surviving, and that led to an unexpected life as a pirate. But when the journal brought them together, both of them knew that what they had could only be temporary as their goals were very different. Though neither of them planned on falling in love, they find themselves unable to fight the feelings between them and soon they both begin to wonder if a future together might be possible.

I loved these two together. I thought that they were sexy and the chemistry was there right from the start. It was easy to see the attraction between them and I couldn't get enough of how hot they were. But I loved that they both connected while still being so different from one another. Though they came from completely different upbringings, they both sought treasure and a family that loved them. Willow was smart and a true romantic at heart, I loved that she was passionate and that her motives were truly to tell the story that she had fell in love with. While Noah's motives might not have been on the up and up, he cared for Willow and it was easy to see that he would do anything for her.

Overall, this was such a great story. I was captivated from the start and there were twists and turns here that I didn't expect. L.A. Fiore's writing is fantastic and I felt like I was right there with the characters living their hunt for treasure right along with them. This world that she has created is beautiful and yet dangerous and edgy, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat wondering what will happen next. I loved the characters here and I can't wait to get to know these sexy pirates better. While they had some bad to them and lived up to the word pirate, they were impossible not to root for and I am anxious for Snake's book next. If you are looking for something different and unique with some sexy alphas and unexpected turns, this is definitely one you will want to check out. My one minor criticism and the only reason this book wasn't a five star read for me was that I felt a bit detached at times from Noah, and I wish that we had been able to get a bit more of him and his POV. I felt like he kind of fell to the background a bit with Willow and the hunt for treasure sometimes taking over. The story was still great, but I wanted more of Noah and the connection between him and Willow.

So I have a secret. Until this year I had never read a pirate book. Gasp! I don't know what held me back, but based on a recommendation from my blog partner I decided to give them a shot-and spoiler, I really like them! Now, that's the last spoiler you'll see in this review.

I loved this story. Literally from the first page I was hooked. Now, I have to be vague because to be anything other than that would mean my review would have spoilers-and nobody likes a review with spoilers. So here's what I *can* tell you.

This book was incredibly well written. The pacing of the story worked. You FEEL for these characters. I understood their struggles, their hurts and why they are the people they are. I liked these characters as individuals, I felt their spark. I wanted them to find their happiness, and wasn't disappointed in the resolution they came to at all.

The supporting characters in here definitely had me intrigued. They didn't overshadow our main couple at all, they simply enhanced the story AND left me wanting more of them at the same time. I can't wait to see where the author takes this supporting cast! I've decided to adopt Willow's grandfather's advice about being happy and I'm sure you will too after reading this book.

There's romance here, there's mystery, intrigue, and pirates. A pirate that had me head over heels in love-which is definitely a sentence I never imagined writing. I loved this plot, I loved how well it was executed. This is absolutely a book I recommend and I look forward to the next book from this author!

As soon as I started reading, I knew this was going to be one of the most unique stories that I've read this year. It's not often that I run into a romance novels about pirates and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I can say that I'm glad I gave it a chance. LA Fiore spun a pretty interestin tale about a modern day pirate while twisting in some historical aspects. For the most part, I really enjoyed the story. I thought the introduction to the characters and their past was very engaging. My heart ached for what Kace went through but I loved how he made a way for himself even when so many odds were against him. Willow may not have had as much of an unfortunate upbringing as Kace but hers still lacked. I can't say her parents were my favorite people in this book. The two people who should always put her first didn't and that was hard to read. The pace seemed to slow down a bit after the first 50%. I wasn't as engaged as I was in the beginning. The writing seemed a bit more rushed and choppy. There were some situations where I left there should have been more angst or just more conflict in general. Kace became too indecisive. One scenario that really through me off was when he decided he wasn't going to come clean about a situation. He then denied when confronted about it and even told himself he wasn't going to tell Willow, then the very next time he saw her he came clean. I wasn't expecting that situation to unravel that quickly even if deep down Willow knew the truth. Overall though, I did like the story as a whole and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Elusive by L.A. Fiore makes a big time splash as this book was an utter treasure of romance, passion, raw emotions, and pirates!!!! Never did I thought I would read a modern day pirate romance story but I did and I loved it. This book was a magical journey that tugged your heartstrings in such an immense way. No amount of bounty could explain how much this book left an everlasting impression!!! A must read for any romance fans!

4:5 Stars

As soon as I read the blurb for this book I had to read it because it was unique and it intrigued me and I'm a huge fan of this author.
For me the first part really dragged I was desperate for something anything to happen. I understand the author was setting the backstory of the main characters but this part of Willow's story was a little repetitive.
Stick with it because when the action picks up I couldn't put it down. I mean a sexy alpha man who's also a pirate I was in heaven. This story takes you on an adventure to far away lands, under and in the ocean. Parts of the story are truly heartbreaking I will admit to shedding tears. It was the perfect mix of emotion, intrigue, danger and did I mention the sexy pirate.

Elusive is the first book I've read by L.A. Fiore and it wasn't quite what I was expecting in good ways and bad. The blurb (a cover) got me so excited - I mean, PIRATES! And it truly was a swashbuckling (I had to) adventure, with slight elements of romance. See, I was expecting a romance with some elements of adventure. I really enjoyed the method of storytelling employed - the multiple time lines added layers and depth to the story and characters. The characters were well developed and the story really kept me engrossed. But, I wanted more romance, more sizzle, more spice between Willow and Kade. That being said, I will happily read the next book in the series now that I have an idea what to expect and I want to read more of L.A. Fiore's work. I give Elusive 3 out of 5 wine glasses.
